  1. very much agreed with this, its clear from everytime any talks to them that they are not going to give out content updates so it would be worth accepting this and coming up with questions that they can answer. things like "are you growing customer support", "any new forum features", or "will we see more JMods in game" spring to mind. Asking for content information, or trying to be sneaky and ask around it, will just end up being a waste of a question.
  2. oh noes! an intro post that is going to be off the front page by the end of next week and that few people will remember having ever happened by the week after that wasn't brilliant, we are ruined! :ohnoes: *ahem* tbh I'm more interested to see what she'll do with the role than how good her 'hello' post is, so I'll keep judgement on it till a couple of weeks time. By which point I'm sure we'll have the better rep on there as she'll have been able to match RV's efforts 50 to 1.
  3. never heard of TIGA either, but then I don't really keep up with Games Industry lobby groups so I'm not all that suprised. Sure its a big deal for jagex though, and if anyones interested it has a wiki page
  4. am i the only person who thinks mounts wouldn't really add that much to the game, other than bringing in something from WoW?

*nods* it might take time but they would be willing to put the time into it to get the cash
  6. Rickrolling is when someone says that a link goes somewhere useful or interesting, but in reality it just goes to a music video of Rick Astley's song "Never Gonna Give You Up". When you get tricked like that, you have been Rickrolled. A detailed explanation can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickrolling Flawless Victory! =D>
  7. nice, especially interested in what Jagex will be giving to the site :-)
  8. sounds sweet to me :-)

If that happens then do the following 1 - Remember that noone owns any rocks, that the concept of "your rock" is purely of your own invention, and that 99% of the frustration at their actions is of your own making 2 - Politely ask them to be a little more considerate about what they are doing and if they would be okay with sharing the rocks in an amicable fashion. This can actually work! 3 - If they don't want to share then either wait for them to finish pinching all the rocks before you start up again, or go to a different (less crowded or popular) area to mine, or find something else to do at that point. That 3 step guide will make your RS time happier and help lower your blood pressure to a more acceptable level
  10. i agree that it could do with a bit more polish to it but overall I think its a fun minigame, though not to everyones taste.
  11. Well if you must insist on going soft on them then so be it, I however would like to see them get a much harsher punishment for intentionally wrecking things for everyone else. Maybe a public flogging or their families being whipped through the streets :shame: Yes, it did annoy me a lot. No, I don't like the people who did it
  12. I'm with xpx on this one. if you want something that bad can't you spend the $5 on it? I am all for respect and consideration for f2p but there has to be a limit and I think "end game" content like capes is perfectly fine to stay p2p only.
  13. that is just brilliant =D>
  14. Mystery solved Also it was Mod MMG who's the CEO. I think Mod Mark H is on the forums. I get what the article was trying to say but to me it seemed a little bit alarmist (and badly researched in places). "how long should we go without a good update before it becomes reasonable to panic?" Well, personally I don't plan on entering panic over a game not having a "good update" for around about the rest of my life. Getting bored with it I can see happening but panicing? With the amount of quests / achievements / capes / other things in the game that I haven't even begun to start on? If they can't keep up what they have promised then I'll start getting concerned, till then I'm going to read what they say and try to keep things in proportion.
  15. I think it would be like every christmas coming all at once! Having it in one location is just a bit annoying to me, even if they set up smaller exchanges (say 1 or 2 slots available at a time) at some of the banks would make things a whole lot better imo. Can't see why it wouldn't work in the context of the game: if you traded in your noted items then it would fit into the game world just like people trade certificates rather than actual items in the real world. Heck, if the games banks can teleport your items to any location I can't think why they woulnd't rent the magic out to the exchange. Throw on a convenience commission (5% or something for not using the main exchange) and you've got a game balance and a nice bit of 'flavour' added into the game.
  16. Agreed on the issue of rights but I'd say players have a lot of influence as a group, and Jagex are well aware of it. If enough people get feed up and leave that'll influence Jagex a whole load. never think you're without power as a customer, just think how best to use it.
  17. Daft question but have you let Jagex know about the problem? If they don't know that there is a lag issue then there isn't much they can do about it. Could be the server they are using (which the provider is unlikely to tell them about) or it could be a local net issue that they wouldn't be aware of unless those affected speak out about it. And I heartily accept that the chances are you've already tried this, so please don't think I'm trying to preach to the choir on this. Just double checking is all. And my sympathies for the lag, totally fecking annoying!
  18. Iirc they are specific worlds so that people can quickly find people to lootshare with, simple as that.

imo the ratio of good player to idiot is the same as always, possibly even grown in favour of the good people. However the total number of people in the game has gone up so there are now more idiots in total, thus you see more of them. Plus in 3 years of play you yourself will have changed and grown, so what you once thought of as acceptable conversation and didn't notice is now annoying static that drives you up the wall. Not much that can be done about that, other than ignoring them till they grow up. And that's not me saying 'put up with it' as I think ignoring them will actually help them to knock off with the stupid talk. They want to get attention, they want to get someone to talk to, and if we teach them that trying to talk tough gets no response then they will either go away (good) or start making with the sensible conversation (better). Also as Italian5kamikaze said - clan chat on and public chat off is your friend :-)
  20. agreed, although I think it could be improved on a bit. Maybe if they let you have a couple of prechossen favourit phrases, or the ones you used most often near the top. Basically Quick Chat is good for the muted and determined, but Quicker Chat would be excellent for everyone. Still it is the "year of updates" so maybe it'll get some loving before 2010 :-)
  21. IMO "yes", though that may not be your opinion so I'd say play it for a bit and make your mind up for yourself. And that includes getting your friends to stop giving you grief for like it, or any other game for that matter.
  22. BH was put in cause of the removal of the Wilderness / PKing, that was its purpose and it did it reasonably well (other than being a new source for people to drop trade). Not perfectly, but an okay job. PK Worlds then turned up, which are (imo) a far better version of The Wilderness and which removed "the need" for BH as a PK zone. Way more detail and choice than in Bounty Hunter, even had some new gnarly drops. About the only thing BH did better was enable drop trading, other than that it wasn't that great any longer. So Jagex got rid of BH to close that loop. This is (imo) an overall good thing as whilst it removed a fun game it also put a massive fix (though likely not perfect) on drop trading. Less gold sellers, less bots, less cheating Cabbages buying gold. Less BH as well, but I can live with that as its still works out as a win. But, and this is the important bit, its not gone! It will come back (I currently have faith in Jagex on what they say, especially as they didn't put a deadline to its return) in some form. It'll be different but the basic mechanics / game are most likely going to be the same. So it reduces the lose even more & it's not like we can't PK any longer. Yeah I'd like it back right now but I can live with it being gone, if nothing else but cause the drop traders were mucking about with the BH game so (imo) it'll come back better than before. So is there any point in moaning about it? No, none that I can see. It just wastes time. Our time that we could be spending playing another part of the game Their time that they could be spending improving stuff (like BH!) rather than going "it'll be back soon" So whilst I get why your annoyed I'd suggest you chill out on it, cause being annoyed will achieve nothing and in the long run I think its (hopefully) brief abscence will be made up for by its increased enjoyability.
  23. another nice set of small but needed changes. I'm really enjoying this year of upgrades, especially as it's giving me a chance to catch up with all the content I never got around to playing before.
  24. I dunno, part of the dynamic of RuneScape is the ability to trade your gear, and I'd hate to see that removed from gear because of its level requirements. I personally see no harm in being able to trade lvl 90 super-rare items, chances are that I wouldn't do it myself but if someone else wanted to turn a near impossible to get drop into a possible to get (over a lot of time) stash of coins then so be it. No harm, no foul, and it keeps things consistant. Plus it would avoid the situation where someone who got the gear and decided they didn't want it (yes, I know that's a bit daft but some people are like that) I'd rather see it up for trade than just ditched to make space in the bank. Plus if it was part of a set then having the option would make completion possible, and add in a nice 'Do i keep the uber rare on the hope of getting the rest or go for the certainty of cash now' dynamic to the whole thing. btw - with regards to the matter of wanting 'end game' items we already have them, it's just that they get steadily replaced with new ones every couple of months. No different to games like WoW imo, its just that it happens more often.
  25. 1.What do you do on the game? - explore the world, play the quests, and generally just see what's around 2.What do you find more important, high skills or fun? - fun, pure and simple. no point in playing a game unless you enjoy it 3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape? - this morning, had a nice chat with some folks whilst fishing. Nothing major, just silly banter. Still worth the time though
