Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging (INTJ) Strength of the preferences % 33 50 50 1 "Mastermind" You can read more about the 4 "types" here http://keirsey.com/handler.aspx?s=keirs ... mastermind Maybe, somewhat accurate. I'd say 80% correct personality analysis. But then again it's just a quick quiz.

The point of conflict is South Ossetia and to slight degree Abhkhazia who both have declared themselves to be independent from Georgia. I don't see what motivation Russia would have in attacking the Georgian capital, since they're only giving military support to S-Ossetia to fend off an attack. They don't have any intent of attacking Georgia itself. The attack was a complete surprise, because the Georgian army attacked S-Ossetia's capital at night just a few days ago. S-Ossetia is only "de jure" a part of Georgia. In reality the ossetians despise georgians, speak russian, have russian passports, pay taxes to Russia, recieve pensions from Russia, use Russian roubles as currency, and have in general nothing to do with Georgia.

Yeah, as said before, even a small band of berserkers can beat the strongest full units in the game like spartan hoplites. The berserk mode is pretty overpowered. BTW, not sure if many people have their sounds on while playing, but voice acting is brilliant in Rome Total War  Just listening to all the funny accents is worth it...

I wouldn't judge a person by that, but agree it sounds extremely irritating/dumb if you say it in real life. It sort of lowers your personal image into " arrogant teen boy". Can't even imagine someone like 35 years old saying memes in a business setting etc.

Well, Finland's system is much better in some aspects, given the 3 main parties have pretty much equal support around 20-25%, with greens at some 10% and the rest at less. The presidential election will never be fair though; It's skewed towards the Coalition/Center party. The smaller parties will probably never supply a leader in the coming decades. In fact I can't even imagine anyone else becoming the next president in 2012 than Sauli Niinisto. He is almost a de-facto King judging by his popularity amongst normal people (and he gathers about 15x more votes than an average parliament candidate) Just about everyone else is a colorless, mass-politician who doesn't stand any proper chance of being elected. Even nordic countries aren't perfect: Rule of mass applies everywhere... Even if your view is a minority but would support the nation the best, you wont be heard unless more people start having your view.

Now that you mentioned it, yeah, end-game Roman units are a serious headache to beat. Urban Cohort is probably one of the few units that could kill Germanian berserkers without retreating in panic and still have men standing. And Spartan Hoplites (the ones that take 2 turns to recruit).. Even a cavalry charge from behind wont cause many casualties and they'll start beating you up... The game designer probably put their defence level a tad bit too high.

Man Stabbed & Beheaded on Manitoba Greyhound Bus by Stranger

I don't support psychopatic murderers, but a lot of young people seem to have the view it's ok to step outside of the law to murder someone who has murdered. That's not the case, the police could've got an extremely long jail sentence for voluntary manslaughter, if it was found out the person wasn't armed with a gun. Law in western countries doesn't work like it does in Congo; "Let's pretend it didn't happen and just exit the scene". -
Hoped I would be first to post what Warrior just said. Really, in the year 2008 as an educated person, if you have loyalties for a BUNCH OF CROOKS, you must be a really sheepish person. Sorry. I vote for whoever is the best candidate in any election regardless of "party" affiliation which is a ridiculous standard to go by. If you believe "republicans are evil war mongerers" and "democrats are tree hugging liberals"... Well, don't blame North Korea for brainwashing; It's just happened to you as well. Understandably a lot of people aged 14-18 have those "simplistic" views on american politics, but it's scary how even some older people think the world is so black-and-white.

Yeah, especially if someone else is in the room... You're basically making a statement "I don't really care what you're saying" by listening to music on headphones.

What are your opinions on no-lifing?
BlueLancer replied to Goldenjkered's topic in General Discussion
Didn't think I'd agree with first, but that's true actually. For example... When I hang out with friends, someone always calls and says they're "busy"... Which usually means they're watching baseball reruns and can't be bothered to walk around the town  I'm never offended by that.. It's their choice, and I don't blame them. Friendship is the main point, not the fact you have to be forced to do meaningless things every day "just because". Also.. I have a pretty hard time believing some people who say they have like 200 friends. They CAN'T all be loyal, real friends. How many would desert you if you needed a quick lift to the hospital if your mother got sick and you needed to visit her? Probably a lot. I got maybe 5 core friends, and lots of 'friends'. I value them all, but I'm not sure how friendly the "other" group would really be if I actually needed something. I'd help them, but would they ever even appreciate it -.- -
As long as any kind of wealth transfer exists, real world trading will exist as well. It's incorrect to say RWT'ers are gone by trade updates; There are still dozens of RWT businesses selling and trading for real cash. This is in RS, and it's in every other game as well. And if someone wants to pay 100,000 to use a sword for 1 hour, that's their choice. Maybe they don't have the time to earn 80 million for the actual item and just want to try it out. Car leases work on a similar principle. You must think, "why would someone pay $800 to use a Mercedes for a weekend?" Maybe they can't afford the actual car, but need something valuable to represent themselves if they're going for a business meeting/having to drive around wealthy clients etc.

You can't build or recruit while your town is under siege  But yes, Phalanxes are the best way to defend a city against any civilization. If you pack about 3 units of Phalanx-using soldiers to each entry point.. It's really not possible to get through, unless you use archers/skirmishers or other missiles to pepper them to death. (The lame thing about this is, that "auto-resolve battle" doesn't recognise this, and you'll get hundreds of casualties if you let it auto resolve, or you can spend 20 minutes fighting it yourself and get maybe 5 casualties out of 800 soldiers on your side) P.S: Onagers and catapults aren't really units as much as they are "tools" (even though personnel operate them). If your catapult personnel get assaulted they'll rout faster than lightning and the equipment is left useless. Yes, I almost think Parthia is overpowered. For example I placed only 2 units of horse archers to guard a road to my capital. Egypt sent like 1500 foot infantry to invade the capital but just couldn't get through horse archers. Why?! Well.. It's impossible to outrun horse archers/cataphract archers. They are extremely fast. While they retreat, they also shoot arrows. And when the timer goes to 0, if they haven't killed you, they lose the battle automatically. (I have "missiles don't run out" enabled though) The only unit that could probably outrun horse archers is war dogs.

Civ4 is brilliant, but like you said.. The combat system is a bit simplistic, and unrealistic. Ultimately, if you send enough cavemen against a tank, they'll destroy it with their wooden clubs -.- Rome: Total War absolutely rocks. I don't think the historical RTS game concept can get much more perfect from the TotalWar concept. Medieval: Total War takes it even further into perfection, but it lags a lot unless you have a very high end computer. The only thing I dislike is the gargantuan building time of religious monuments, barracks, etc... In Civ, you can sacrifice population/turn government into slavery to build faster, in Rome, your entire kingdom/empire can be rampaged by barbarians while you wait those 11 turns to finish building a port, barracks and religious temple. Not just that, but constant sieges from enemy nations are a real strain on military resources... Running out of money is a real issue. Rome Total War battle hint: If you want to have fun, play with Germania and recruit an army full of berserkers with weapon improvements. Group them together in a battle, and just when they're a few meters away from the enemy, click "special ability - Warcry", and enjoy. Even roman elite units such as praetorian cohort will panic and rout when they see this hideous sight. And once the berserkers go into "heroic" mode, they will never retreat or stop fighting back. (But you wont be able to control their movement any more) Their attack status is highest in the game, over 30 with full weapon improvements.

No offense Agunimon, but that's really irritating. Those posts don't serve any purpose. Might just as well go down that road & ruin the forum by answering every question with "just google it". Think if you were asking a question, what kind of answer would you want? Probably one that helps you. __ Anyways, first you have to check if it's valid for online purchases. If it doesn't instantly work, go to step 2: Go to the website of the card issuer, and input the number there & validate it for "Verified by Visa" program. After you log into PayPal, select "Add a new credit card". Since it has a set amount of credit (which basically just makes it debit), input the full amount of the gift card and add it to your balance. Depositing from some countries, it might not be possible to fill "balance". Funds will be automatically drafted from the card when you make any purchases, so a balance isn't necessary.

While we're at it.. Why not also start signing up 30 year old lone men for hook-ups with 10 year old girls at school? It must be totally normal by some people's standards on this thread?

The Worst...(UPDATED...The worst? Mummy 3 or Indy 4)
BlueLancer replied to Harakiri's topic in Off-Topic
There's a 4th?! 5th one coming soon  (No joke, it is, this year or early 2009 if I'm correct). The fourth one became just lame, unless you have a really strong fondness of unscary gore and blood, it has pretty much nothing to offer. The games Jonathan Kramer designs are pretty twisted, and he seems extremely smart... But he died already. How many perfectly-planned games has he possibly made before his death?! -
You forgot Backstreet Boys.

Heh, some chinese athletes actually do advertisements for tobacco companies and smoke regularly as well. They still get top results. I wonder how that will fit with Beijing 2008 and anti-smoking sentiments in western countries  P.S: Scare tactics are a load of rubbish... Read what Zonorhc wrote for more in-depth. Unless a person has absolutely no ability for critical thinking, he wont blindly succumb to these tactics anyways.

Heh, partially true... But in RS1, you really had to work about 10x harder to gain skills  Mining for example... For every swing, you had to open inventory, select pick-axe, click use, choose rock, and it could even fail to extract ore. Heck, for a long time, there was only one adamantite rock in the entire game (in the desert scorpion pits) which took multiple minutes to re-appear.. Now all you do is click a rock and read a forum for 5 minutes and check for possible random events until your inventory is filled up..

In the past Jagex staff occassionally made posts/comments on tip.it (and tip.it even has special rank avatars for them ) but after RuneScape became more and more commercial.. The posts just disappeared like water from a dried river. Last ones are from like 2007. It's been a long time since Andrew/Paul posted on tip.it, you can use the search function to find some of their posts. Maybe they still do read fan site forums, but in stealth without actually posting.

Fighting/physical force is always a last resort and strategic resource. You don't want to build a reputation for being a wreckless barbarian who picks fights with everyone, but you also don't want to be known as someone who doesn't hit back if provoked. You should never be "proud" to fight at school. It's something you have to do when there's no other option. But if 1. your friends get seriously bullied 2. you see a weaker kid who has no protection against older kids 3. someone intentionally refuses to pay back a loan to you (tries to screw you over) I wouldn't condemn violence as a last resort if talk doesn't work, even if my own child was involved.

There are currently 1 million people playing?
BlueLancer replied to bossi's topic in General Discussion
I'd be willing to bet money that RuneScape peaked in populary in about 2006-early/mid 2007, with about 250,000+ players online. It wont rise above that level again unless Jagex does something really surprising to get a new influx of players. A million players... Never. Like said, it's not even physically possible, Jagex would need to spend money to buy 337 more servers. It wont happen, RS peaked already, it's probably going to stay a steady 80-200k then slowly decline over time as other games become more popular. -
Yes, it's old news, but if it does get released some day, you can re-make the topic  (If/when Jagex runs out of ideas for new high level items, they'll probably play the d-plate card anyways)

I never betray my friends or family or snitch them out for any purpose. Even if you committed murder and were my friend/family; not a chance. I'd never do it. One of the most disgusting traits of a human being is being a cowardly sell-out. If you value a friend and love your family, you stay with them until the end. There's no turning back or stabbing in the back, or you're a scumbag yourself. But of course if the very improbable happened, and you found out your friend was a pedophile/child abuser, of course I'd turn them in and make a 360' turn with the friendship. I'd actually be angry for not realizing it before.
