  1. His old articles are pure gold. I don't see how somebody with even a hint of a sense of humor could dislike his productions. Sadly he doesn't update his site that frequently anymore, but his new articles are always up to date (like his bashing of conspiracy theorists). After he announced writing a book, he took a really long break...
  2. No, how would that work  But you can take a boat from England to Denmark and get to Sweden with a ferry. Or take a boat from Finland and travel with a train across Sweden. There's pretty much no other way, unless you fly in the north from USA and go through one of the northern railroads in Norway/Lapland
  3. Slashdot hiscores for "life" 1.aznpwna9 2.daprez292 3.2kool4skool 4.kimble007 5.RoUnDhouZ
  4. Haha, try figuring it out.. So when you surf along the coast, the game is so bugged it tries to find the ID number of an inexistent creature, so you basically capture "nothing". An image wont load up since it's missing from the database, it just shows random black stuff. I was a lot younger when I actually played this game but I thought it was pretty fun. Even I remember that one 8-) Trade, start new savegame, trade, repeat... And off you go. - 450 creatures seems a bit too much :? The series have gone totally unoriginal, could try emulating it but it doesn't probably have the same feel as the original games. Now it's all about making as many sequels as possible to make money off kids. And before you know it, in a few years they'll have 1000 pokemon. Kids, good luck remembering the names.
  5. 34 people are murdered in an university. President Bush repeats: "I'm horrified". "I'm horrified". Six times. No comments about the two explosions that same day in Iraq that killed 170 people, just about all civilians, children, women, near a police station and a market? People who act like they care about the Virginia murders are hypocrites. A murder isn't any more grave if it happens near to where you live, or if people you know die in it. See, to you, the dead were "Americans". But to the great majority of the world they are 'foreigners'. Just like if my whole family died, or yours, they were not "dead" family members but just a fixed number of victims in a terrorist attack.
  6. I don't know why I still visit this site. I quit playing the game about 5 years ago. It's in my favourites folder and I just keep coming back when I have time to kill. Maybe it's because the majority of users here aren't jerks like on most online forums.
  7. im not going to get into an argument with you over this. all im going to say is that you are indeed an idiot. in a room where everyone want silence, you are the man who yells at everyone to be quiet, and adds to the noise, rather than to set the example and be quiet yourself. you want to stop me from getting attention by answering me. good idea \ by the way im not agreeing with his assumptions. im going to gnore all toher spam that this guy posts as well :XD: so lets get back on topic \ How 'bout you set an example than and end yourself? You know, since you have no emotion and all. ding 10k posts >_< can you not read? are you really that thick? re read my first post, it does not say i want to kill myself. If there's no point to life and everything we ever do is so rediculously insignificant and you don't want to die, why do you want to live? Not every person *wants* to live, but they hopefully figure it's better than emptiness (not being alive). To refer to Hobbit's example, there are hundreds of thousands of people with little to no emotion who can pull the trigger for cash or do other stuff because they've found no meaning to their lives. I'm not saying it's good to be emotionally detached, depending on your job it can be extremely useful (police officer, intelligence staff in a violent country, soldier, counselor), I'm saying it's hard to find an honest meaning to your life if you have no emotion whatsoever. Unless you just want to do anything it takes to get money and not get caught. Become a bounty hunter or an assassin. People don't refrain from those "jobs" (that do exist in reality) because the pay is low, it isn't. People don't want to kill others because they fear the emotional toll isn't worth the payment.
  8. Asian cultures and countries have much less hate crimes and criminal activity in general than western countries and their culture barely even knows the judeochristian values. Moral values aren't exclusive to any one religion. Most "moral values" are common sense and are practised everywhere.
  9. It turns out they were on iranian waters after all. Why would they all of a sudden "kidnap" british soldiers? Posted on BBC 2 hours ago: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6491577.stm
  10. I was talking about the original Diablo. =P Diablo 2 was an epic failure in the horror department, as far as I'm concerned. D1 is a scary game if you aren't even supposed to play it (under 15 but geez, you were 10) For a game that was made in 2000, it's an extremely well made game. I remember my cousin saying "I don't want to play this game". Why? "After I entered the catacombs I just turned off the pc cuz I wet my pants" It's a good RPG.
  11. If you need it re-opened again, send a PM or report it and a mod will open it for you 8-)
  12. DragonMud (mud: multi-user-dungeon) I played that as a kid when I barely knew anything about computers (no graphical user interface either back then). That game probably doesn't exist anymore. Pure text based RPG.
  13. Archive.org hint: Runescape.org and .net were mirrors of the RS site back then, try that :) Still works and has old news items.
  14. If it's unidentified, it's flying, and it's an object, then it's a UFO. It doesn't need to be spacecraft controlled by little green men. :-k
  15. How does a gay person who pays taxes and works and does everything else you do, qualify as a "criminal"? How does he compare to a murderer or robber? Doesn't he rather improve your chances of reproducing since you're not gay?
  16. Yeah, a ton of people made millions of dollars after the terrorist attacks by buying massive amounts of stocks just a few days prior to the strike (strategic stocks average daily volume up by 10,000%+ isn't a coincidence) No, the "government" didn't plan it. Maybe some government officials, and probably did, have forehand knowledge but decided to make millions of dollars instead. The president or anybody else you want to blame have nothing to do with the attacks. Blame those people who sold short American Airline stocks 1 day prior to the attacks and then a few hours after the attacks bought them back. They knew what would happen and wanted to profit instead.
  17. Are there christians who converted to other religions? Yes. Are there muslims who converted to other religions? Yes. It is a matter of intepretation, whether you choose to intepret a book literally and judge somebody to death is the choice of the country or the person deciding the judgement. Other religions are fairly peaceful; Most problems stem from the two major religions, christianity and islam. Not because of their violent histories, but also because of the dangerousness of some of the texts both parties claim to be "holy" or "divine". Repeat "killing infidels is the will of God" hundreds of times a day, hear it since your first breath, and you'll start believing it. These are dangerous beliefs and it's up to your parents to choose to make you a normal person or alternatively a religious extremist.
  18. The best 100% free FPS games would be Americas Army or WarRock. Though currently, I believe you can buy membership benefits and money for weapons in WR, but the game itself will always remain free (and has a nice amount of players)
  19. Sorry, but this can't be discussed openly (check your message inbox)

    Best Country?

[*:23hm4lrk]Australia [*:23hm4lrk]Svalbard [*:23hm4lrk]New Zealand [*:23hm4lrk]Finland [*:23hm4lrk]Switzerland Pick one of those :) Safest possible environments especially if you want to have a family in the stablest possible countries. They're also very neutral (on the slight exception of Australia), so they are highly unlikely targets for terrorist attacks or wars. The USA is a very good country to live in, considering all the places you could live in, but it's in no way the best. If you're not thinking emotionally that is. USA is a prime target for terrorists and has been attacked by terrorists. It's engaged in wars and has a currency that's not exactly going up in value. It's average or sub-average in educating it's citizens.
  21. Brunei, though not as small, is the wealthiest I believe. Though Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Monaco aren't far behind. The wealthiest are in order: Luxembourg Norway Switzerland With Luxembourg at roughly $70,000 gross income per capita.
  22. Haha, I hope any young people that read the article don't start developing "ideas"... You *could* invade their little country by hiring 200 mercenaries from North Africa and sailing across the ocean and crossing Italy with a transport truck, labeling it as "health products". But just because they can't fight back, doesn't mean you could rule their country without international repercussions. You'd be expelled from the UN and probably face a NATO attack, just a reminder. You could briefly tax the population and seize government treasuries and assets though.
  23. Sorry, but I must agree with Nedich. If you've read at all the colonial history of the British, you'd see they were perfectly comparable to Hitler's reich and did all of the atrocities just because they had the "right" to (in their own minds) They would systematically burn down farms and homes of civilians in colonised countries, start concentration camps (like mentioned above) and exploit the population for slavery (which was VERY profitable, and kept the economy going in the States) Not to say the british don't have a sophisticated and fine culture; Their history isn't as sophisticated though.
  24. I'm not a vegan and never will be, but at least I acknowledge they are morally superior to me in that sense, nothing wrong with that. Some vegans just eat stuff they grow themselves, I eat killed animals (which is natural though, but the vegan causes less bad than I do). Can you somehow tell me how both me, the meat-eater and the vegan are on equal moral grounds? Because we're not. But I don't personally care. --------------------------------------------------------------- On topic about the tomb: It doesn't matter if it's "proven" Jesus' tomb and it contains 20 children that share his DNA, extremely religious people would dismiss it as a "hoax". Just treat it as an archeological find even if it's not "the" Jesus :)
  25. Yeah, but by being the president of the EU you can briefly attract more attention to your own country's problem and money issues which is also a political advantage. Just as I predicted, most brits just oppose it due to "pride". What makes those nations lesser than Great Britain, just because they're smaller? The english pound sterling isn't the highest valued currency (per 1 unit). The most valuable currencies are the Kuwaiti dinar and the Maltese lira which cost over $3 dollars per unit. The British pound sterling costs about $1.98 per unit. Quite on the contrary, the euro is gaining strength compared to other currencies (especially the US dollar), and due to political reasons some very oil-rich nations in middle-east (read: Iran) have begun making oil transactions ONLY in the euro currency instead of the US$dollar. Which pressures the USA even further into obtaining euro currency. God forbid the whole of OPEC starts using the euro currency for oil transactions, the dollar will mean pretty much nothing.
