  1. 1) You aren't responding to anything in my thread. Please make your own thread if you want to write about these things. 2) I never suggested these potions be made tradeable. 3) How about you give a better counterargument than "making things harder and more annoying is good", because it's pretty weak. I'm not offended, your arguments are just weak, impertinent, and/or just false. If you have something legitimate, post it. I agree. Lmfao @ jjustin. Your going off on him without even reading the post. [bleep]ing [developmentally delayed] XD Don't judge who I am when it's a living fact you don't even know me. Either post nicely or get out of Rants. we very well can judge who you are. it doesn't matter that we haven't met you physically, you've demonstrated qualities we find undesirable, and which require no physical interaction to understand. it is based on those qualities (inability/unwillingness to acknowledge your mistakes, as well as the initial arrogance of posting without reading the topic) that we are judging you. you made a post which was off topic. either you did not read the post, or you misunderstood it. you could have stopped there, and admitted your mistake, but instead you have decided to fight us, defending your post as an opinion which thusly can't be judged, whereas we are saying that even if it is an opinion, it is completely unrelated. we are not telling you to keep your opinions to yourself, we are telling you to keep your opinions relevant. in your original post. it starts by saying that jagex had motivations for keeping the potions untradeable. this is a fact which jagex made public with the update, and the reason is this: they wanted to provide benefits to high-level herbalists. original newspost about the potions: http://services.runescape.com/m=news/newsitem.ws?id=2288&allcat=true your second line, which i have put in bold, is where it is clear that you did not read the topic. he was saying that beasts of burden should be able to 'bank' extremes [untradeable potions]. you just told him that if he wanted to say the thing that he just did say, then he might be right. obviously you did not understand or overlooked his original intent, because you would not be advising someone to argue a point, which they are already arguing. your next few lines go on to talk about rares or something irrelevant, a further indication that you missed the point completely. your last few lines are substantial and if you had posted only them, you wouldn't be getting all this criticism. however, your last sentence or two are: i am pretty sure he already has implied that being able to store extremes in beasts of burden will make things easier. that is why he wants it to be done. when you ask him to 'admit it' you again seem to have missed his point. then your last line you've just said that you think beasts of burden will eventually be able to carry extremes, which is what the OP wants, and what his post is saying should happen. why then do you say you don't support his post? okay? ^ this
  2. Something that Jagex should have learned by now (as most MMO's should have) is how to nerf something without making people think its a nerf. For instance in WoW's new expansion to encourage people to wear armor their classes were designed to wear (plate wearer's wearing plate instead of cloth) they had two options. 1) Nerf the bonuses plate wearers get from wearing cloth 2) Make the bonuses for everything less great and add a bonus for wearing all of your type of armor. Guess which one they're going with? A much easier solution to this whole problem would have been to slightly nerf everyone's experience gains and then release a statement and update that gives "bonus" experience to member's for training on members worlds. F2P has an incentive to buy members, members don't have to train on F2P worlds anymore, no one feels like they got shafted. Hell they could even have added the members bonus to the experience screen that you get at the end of every dungeon.
  3. Probably would be a good idea to add the new Anti-poison totem from the dungeoneering skill. Prevents you from getting poisoned.

Good rant. None of the idiotic "rabble rabble i want things to be easier rabble rabble" that I see too often on these forums.
  5. *inserts two cents* People are misusing the word inflation. Inflation is a decrease in the value of a currency whose value is based off of an outside limited resource. For example, in the United States our paper dollar bills were at one point in our history (a long time ago) were backed up by 1$ worth of gold. Inflation is when you have 1$ worth of gold and you print two paper dollar bills. Each "dollar" bill is now really only worth 50 cents. So inflation in the literal sense of the word is impossible in RS because each gp is backed up by itself. In the real world example provided, rs would be like using the gold itself as currency instead of the dollar bill backed up by the gold. After that everything is a "simple" supply and demand curve (price manipulators aside).
  6. Summoning : Charms not being tradeable isn't the issue. If they were tradeable it would be a buyable 99 and we have too many of them as is. Not to mention since you complained about other 99's being too expensive later in your rant this complaint would quickly change to it being too expensive if they were made tradeable. What they do need is an exchange system for golds to crimsons, greens to blues etc (not at a 1:1 ratio of course) Hunter : Actually implings are one of the worst "steady" sources of income. Red chins have been a steady source for well over a year, pulling in a minimum of 25 mil leveling from 80-99. Construction : Was never meant to made money, but even so you can make money with teletabs, bones to peaches tabs. Other great uses for houses include but are not limited too... Gilded alters = best prayer training and good for restoring prayer in between slayer tasks and the like. Two teleport chambers and your house at yanille (or however that's spelled) = crazy easy teleporting, just bring house tabs. Repair station = cheaper repair for barrows armour. Costume room = great for clearing bank space. Herblore : Is a great money maker if you gather all your own herbs and seconds. The cost of vials is negligible and if you complain about that you need to stop playing. On top of that you can still come out on top if you only gather the herbs and buy the seconds (depending on the potion and G.E. prices). Either way complaining about something costing too much is the same as complaining about being poor. So go kill green drags for a week and then stop complaining. Runecrafting : Given the vast amount of time and mindnumbing concentration (or lack thereof) involved with getting any skill to 99 no one who plays RS should complain about something simply because it takes forever. If you aren't patient and you hate grinding out your xp then you're playing the wrong game. The reason you bother even though every monster drops runes is because no monster is going to drop 3 k nature runes in an hour (or double that if you're 91 rc). Its one of the highest consistent money makers in the game if you put the time into leveling it, and only people who are willing to put forth the time to get it to 91 deserve to be making that much money. Fletching : You claim there are no problems with it. It is also the least respected of the skills to have 99 in, next to cooking. Because it as easy as hell to level in with a minimal amount of money. Agility : Slow? Ape Atoll is upwards of 45-50 k exp per hour (if you're good). Dorgesh is over 55 k. Advance Gnome and barbarian courses are both over 60 k. All of those exp rates are considered "high", excluding powerleveling skills like herblore or fletching where you have all the mats already and can push over 150 k. Again if you don't like grinding xp then you're playing the wrong game. Slayer : If it was fast it wouldn't be respected, and it wouldn't be a good money maker. That isn't even considering the fact that it makes training your combat stats less of a bore by switching up what you're training on every couple hundred monsters. It's meant to be a bonus optional way of training combat for people that prefer variety to mindless grinding, so it's doing its job fine. Again if you don't like grinding xp then you're playing the wrong game. Theiving : Give me a freaking break. This is one of the fastest 99's in the game. Getting to 55 can be done in a day. After that pyramid plunder is over 60 k exp an hour, increasing every time you hit 61/71/81/91 until at 91 its over 100 k exp/hr. Blackjacking is also supposedly over 80 k / hr but i've never tested it myself. And in my attempt to sound like a broken record let me say again... if you don't like grinding xp... YOU'RE LAYING THE WRONG GAME. /facepalm

I don't know how much you've played WoW, but I will say that IMO its vastly superior of a game in most terms. The combat system is made to actually facilitate player interaction, as well as being oriented much more heavily towards skill than luck (I'm looking at YOU 0,0,0,0,0,0,28,4,0,0,0 damage sequence!). There is a immense amount of different weapons and armor to get, which is expanded on a much more consistent basis, on top of the fact that you don't lose armor or weapons when you die. That being said the "community" is not better than RS. In fact the "community" of any game is going to be about the same across the board. There will be elitist jerks (no pun intended towards the best theorycrafting website out there on class mechanics), there will be ignorant douche bags, there will be scrubs who suck, and there will be nice people who vary in skill levels. If anything because WoW is based so much more on skill it ends up actually fostering the elitist attitude of people (unfortunately I am one of the elitist jerks in WoW...). The trick with WoW and just about every other game that you interact with other people in is to find a group of people that are of a similar mindset as you and limit your interaction with everyone else as much as possible. What I'm saying is don't switch games because you think one may have a better community, because the community is only going to be as good as the people you choose to interact with. Choose based on what game is more fun to waste your time playing (because really playing games is a waste of time unless you're in the top 1% of people like Ensidia that gets sponsored to play). If repeating mindnumbingly boring tasks over and over again in an effort to grind out 13 million exp to max out just one skill, and a combat system based primarily on repeating the number zero is fun for you, then play RS. If you want a game that takes a large amount of skill, and a lot of time to research and learn how to play your class with skill, as well as having multidimensional outlets for what you spend your time doing (such as 5 man dungeons, raids, achievements, skills, questing, making gold, having a legitimate guild system, and to top it off 10 classes each with 3 different talent tree's leading to several different playstyles) then play WoW. Note: I personally switch on and off between the two games cuz sometimes I enjoy how relaxing RS can be. Also if you play WoW you damn well better be Horde on the server illidan. \:D/ And I am sorry about your friend being a douche bag and you getting banned. I have "quit" RS several times cuz of dealing with idiots. You can live life drawing pleasure from the fact that while they are celebrating their pixels and pumping gas to make a living, you're going to have a high paying job and your integrity.
  8. Just a few more rewards that I know specifically people shoot for. 90 - Shortcut in Kuradel's Dungeon to Iron/Steel Dragons 86 - Shortcut in Kuradel's Dungeon to Abyssal Demons 81 - Unlocked shortest route through the Slayer Dungeon 71 - All spiked chains usable in the Slayer Tower 70 - Quick access to the Blue Dragons in Taverly Dungeon. <--- Very common for people to shoot for 70 just for this. 66 - Fastest route to the cosmic alter 58 - Fastest use of ectofunctus via weathered well. Use what you wish or none at all. If you want the type of shortcut they are its in tip.its official agility guide.
  9. This may be me being stupid, but is it possible to add hide tabs? Would make it much easier to find which slayer master you're looking for, not to mention tidying things up a bit.
  10. It's people like you who make me want to start playing this game again... Unfortunately I was bitten by the WoW bug and now all these other online RPG's are just so darn boring...
  11. finally back to RS after being addicted to WoW for about 4 months. will have a screen shot of my next trips loot up within 2 weeks hopefully.
  12. Of course if you knew what was in this guide then you knew that magic was pretty overpowered before the update. But of course silly people don't read TiF and just complain to Jagex that their system is broken, instead of trying to understand the way the system works and using it to their advantage.
  13. Good guide, I'd rather just melee the ones in barbarian cavern and make money instead of lose it though...
  14. To everyone that says that this is a stupid idea because it would be too hard to do technically, no it wouldn't. Its actually very easy. And as far as making the ignore list irrelevant...how often do you run into people you've added to ignore again. I can think of once in my life, and my ignore list is almost full. Also they can make it so that your username changes on their list when they change it, which is exactly what happens on x-box live.
  15. There's tons of evidence for a higher power or diety that created and drives the universe...but this is getting off the topic of the OP so ill let it be for now \
  16. I never said in this thread that I wanted to merchant Death Runes, I posted because I was frustrated that my buy offer wasn't going through, until I realized they had hit the cap. BTW - death runes are sold in rune shops for 310, so even if Jagex did remove the cap, there would be another "natural" block. The majority of players do not benefit from trade caps when they want to purchase an item that has hit the ceiling, or sell an item that has hit the floor. How many times have you wanted to sell a adamant med helm, only to find that you can't? Another thing players have noted - there is inflation in runescape. If this is true, and price limits are not removed, prices may naturally expand before Jagex can remove limits, making trade impossible. If all price limits were removed in the game, then yes, certain items may become targets of price manipulators, but that is a separate problem in an of itself. If you removed all trade from the game, then price manipulation wouldn't go on anymore, but that isn't really doesn't solve anything, does it? Keeping price limits in the game bottle necks trade, and is not a good solution to price manipulation. I never said you wanted to merch death runes either, the trade cap is to prevent merchs from being able to control the prices on them. If you want to purchase an item that has hit the cap you either have to wait for your offer to fill up or go buy from the shop for 4 gp more per rune. And I've never wanted to sell an addy medium helm, the price has hit the floor because there is no demand for them, just high alch it and get money that way. As far as inflation, inflation only occurs in markets where the currency is based on gold (or another commodity used to back it up). For instance in the US every dollar is supposed to be backed up by 1 dollar worth of gold. This used to be the case, however now each dollar is not backed up by a dollars worth of gold and therefore is worth less. In other words, if you have 1 dollars worth of gold and print off two dollar bills each dollar is only worth 50 cents. So inflation is not the right word to describe the RS economy where each gp is backed up by itself and holds value regardless of how many there are. There is an issue of money being created in vast quantities, but I am unaware of the word that describes that. To your comment about removing trade fixing price manipulation, that is a silly point that doesn't contribute to the conversation at all. The only problem we're dealing with here is limiting the ability of merch's to manipulate prices anyway that they want to. The price cap fixes that. If the cap were removed and the price of deaths went to 1 k then everyone would go to the shop (as you said) and get them for 310 anyways. So either be patient and wait for your orders to fill up or go buy them for 310 each.
  17. I saw people who have already posted this but I'm saying it again. They have a trade cap to prevent merchants and merch clans from being able to control the prices of everything. You complain about the cap because you want to sell death runes for more than 306, but you would be complaining if they removed it once death runes hit 1 k ea because of merch clans buying up all the supply and charging rediculous prices for it. Yes its annoying if you want to make more money, but its much better than the alternative. Bottom line, the majority of players are not merch's and benefit from the trade cap. As business your goal is to please the majority, not the minority.
  18. except for the fact that they aren't broad bolt tips, they're barbed...huge difference.
  19. you may want to add the fruit trees you can plant for farming, at 68 farming with palm trees coconuts sell for about 1 k each, 6 per tree and 5 trees = 30 k per harvest.
  20. ok thanks. they must be very rare because i went from 117 to 120 cb there and rarest drop i got was dspear. weird, i did 79 to 82 attack there as well as 77 to 80 def and never got a d spear but got two shields...I will upload a pic if i get one from this trip, will be there for a while...5000 alchs to go through.
  21. Well I am returning to this spot to max attack out. Currently lvl 85 atm, and my trip will last for 5000 Alchs. Will have a pic when I am done. I am using the enchanted Excalibur method, you definitely need to add it. I've been topped off for over 3 hours with no problem at all at 85 att 82 str and 82 def. I don't even have to use the spec whenever its ready. Much better than bunyips because you have unlimited healing that isn't wasted if you're already topped off. Of course there's the time it takes to finish seers as opposed to getting 68 summoning but seeing as i did seers and im only 59 summoning...
  22. I just finished doing my circus event for the week ten min before I read this... /facepalm Amazingly well done. Definitely AoW worthy. 9.5/10 10/10 If more research goes into what crowds like what emotes and such. But still even without that this is amazing. /high-five *edit* this was already in the AoW in the time I read it to the time I posted... /facepalm again
  23. The best thing to do is plant all the best trees you can, you could get to 65 in 2-4 days and thats only logging in for about 20 min a day to check their health. Just do your tree run and then go kill green dragons for hides and bones. You'll more than cover the cost of the seeds just in the hides and then you'll have a nice amount of prayer exp stocked up.
  24. 10/10 Extremely well organized, good placement and use of pictures. All descriptions are well written and easy to understand as well as impliment. if this isn't AoW in a month then i'll be shocked.
  25. I can confirm you can get spirit shields without doing summers end. I got lucky and got two of them in one trip getting from 79 to 81 attack. Didn't take a picture though because I wasn't on my main computer.
