  1. It's most efficient on probably any floor over 15 to open all rooms before fighting the boss. Just don't waste time clearing monsters out of non-guardian doors unless it's a key clutch point on the map (altar, 3-way junction, etc.).
  2. There ya go! :P Don't they know the only real reason we're training Dungeoneering is for the rewards? So basically this weekend is for Herblore or Runecrafting, and I'm being totally honest in that I feel this better be the last XP weekend. I would normally be training Herblore like I have been for a while, but since this "does not affect the economy" and yet I still can't buy any potion ingredients, I guess I'm just going to Runecraft or simply waste the time away.
  3. As a paying member, their response to member doors in F2P infuriates me. Honestly, they contradict themselves in that they go ahead and remove the Agility shortcuts and such, yet something that actually affects xp rates does not warrant a fix. I understand the caps, but losing out on base xp because one isn't a member simply is a low blow and erases any good thoughts I had about Jagex before this update. <_<

It really ticks me off that just when I start seriously training Herblore, they have to go and basically destroy the market for it for at least a month or more. These XP weekends are honestly stupid, and I'd rather see them focus on content that we as players would really like to see. I don't want a weekend of inflated xp rates, I want content that merits giving that higher xp rate. Farming still stops at 85, and where in Sam Hill is Monk's Friend Part 2!? :ugeek:
  5. I really only play Dungeoneering for fun. Have level 83 already and can still count the number of times I've been in 117 on my fingers. This skill simply isn't worth doing with people you don't know. I have a lot of friends that have a great range of levels, and being on Skype we simply do dungeons a lot faster than any 117 team could do. Plus, we're laughing and planning out the floor, which really makes it fun. I can see why Heim crabs are in the game; because Jagex had a lot of fun making this skill.
  6. Gosh darn it! Now I can't train ANYTHING buyable at all for the next month and a half because of this stupid weekend... I guess it's to the Living Rock Caverns concentrated gold until all of this blows over... These silly weekends just ruin my gameplay honestly, why can't we just have it announced on the start date so that way it doesn't ruin most folks' gameplay for the 2 weeks leading up to it. <_<
  7. Hmm, I haven't logged out and it's mysteriously changed back... My 99 Magic objective changes regularly from Celestial to the Magic Skillcape, and it's done that for as long as I can remember. I wouldn't worry about it.
  8. I Strung Jewelry, in which after Summer's End, you can sell Gold amulets to the Rogue to break even, meaning you only are paying for Astrals. I did that until 97 or so and have just been Fire Surging Ice Strykewyrms or other mage-able tasks since then. I got about 130k xp/hr with String Jewelry (while playing Battlefield 2) and I've already made the money back since then through Slayer.
  9. It could go one of several ways; update tomorrow and is successful with a second system update later in the day, or an update tomorrow with a rollback (or calls for one) due to a game-breaking glitch, OR we'll simply have to wait til Wednesday to Friday because they don't believe it's ready yet. :ohnoes:
  10. This has driven me nuts since it started, and it's been like this since before the ring updates... It really doesn't help when I string amulets with the Lunar book and do farm runs with Swap spellbooks to pass the time between dungeons. This must be fixed Jagex! <_<
  11. A good rush has a pro key-man. Therefore, if you're the leader and you don't want to give up your key-status to someone with a higher total level, I'm probably going to leave your game. Proper etiquette should be remaining calm and not insulting people. I'm not going to stay in your F35 rush for long if you accuse me of doing nothing, when in fact I'm trying to fish my own Salve Eels because you're being a food-hog. I also cannot stress this enough; whoever unlocks the door opens it! Why is it so hard to understand this!? I didn't spend all that money for my Farming or Construction level just for you to introduce me with a surprise free trip to an up-front and personal interview with an Iron Dragon... If you're new and going to start rushing, please ask questions. That way, we can fill you in on what to do before you insist on clearing that dead end because "there's promethium ore" yet you can't even mine it... If you can't tell, most of these examples are from personal experience. I'm hoping once the new floors are out, they'll fix the currently poor bind system, so that way rushing might become a little bit faster in the long run.
  12. Typical opinion for a typical RS player ;) I agree with Mummi. Though I had to put about 130m up front for my Farming level, the herbs have more than paid that back in the time I planted all those trees.
  13. Burthrope Compass location: Fremmenik Slayer Cave Scanorb Location: EDIT: Legend's Guild Compass Location:
  14. If you really want an in-depth guide, I'd just go check out Runescoop. Not sure what you're trying to prove here, but making money is pretty easy even with minimal stats.
  15. Anyone getting a bug where you go into a Dungeon on the Lunar spellbook, and the system changes your book back to the Standard spellbook when you come back out? It's really starting to get annoying to me. Hopefully gets fixed next week. <_<
  16. CR isn't as bad at Tormented Demons as you think. Using Wooox's method with a Steel titan I was getting kills just about as fast as him, and I don't have Extremes and only 87 Ranged. I'm pretty sure what happened with all this resistance is that when Dungeoneering came out, people wanted a weapon that showed up more when wearing it, so we all got hyped up over the CLS because it was a bit more noticeable, and now we're having a tough time admitting it isn't exactly the most efficient. Needless to say, I'm still very satisfied with the level 80 weapons so far. I'm going to save up my next 200k tokens and wait for the Chaotic Spear should it be planned for release with batch 2.
  17. Just bought a Hexcrest and Focus sight for 1.2m total. If you haven't filled your Slayer helm fully yet, now would be a good time with the merch crashing hard. :shades:
  18. Clan chats work if you're in the same world as the chat owner, so teams shouldn't be too affected. Everything is down for me at the moment.
  19. Seeing as you have maxed melee stats, chaotic rapier is the best choice for you. If you can switch your weapons quickly at tormented demons, then rapier shines (after all, it only maxes at about 50 lower than the longsword, which comes out to be around 25 lower hit per average hit, which is hardly anything, and its quite speedy). And although i've never been to DKs, from what i've seen and heard, DK's have quite low melee defence, and with maxed melee stats and good potions etc, you can rip them apart. So I would think rapier's speed would make it the best there too. and to answer your other question, it takes (dont quote me on this, im not sure) I think 200k tokens and 100k gp to recharge completely? But otherwise, you can opt out for other varying amounts, down to 2m flat in gp for a complete recharge. Seeing as money's not much of an issue if you're going bosshunting with rapier, it would probably be easier, and more efficient, for you to just pay the pure gp cost for recharging. Thank you!
  20. Okay, as someone who is getting close to Chaotic time, I have these questions: It appears that the Rapier is slowly winning the tip-iter argument? How many tokens does it take to recharge, and is it just more efficient to pay the 1m gp straight up? What is best Chaotic overall for a variety of bosses (mainly DKs and TDs)?
  21. Lovely update. The ring upgrade prices become pointless after pretty much the first 4 or so tiers, but I pretty much predicted that would be the thing they'd drop the bomb on. Finally, perhaps Prayer levels will only become ridiculously priced instead of their current status of very ridiculously priced. This update is surprisingly great as a start towards killing off some of the inflation we've been having for a while. It would be great if they give us like 5 more floors sometime soon, because I don't think I can wait for later this year to get the rest of the floors on my prestige.
  22. Jagex is the only company I've seen that actually gives a damn about its players. Even if we gripe and moan, they for the most part give us what we want. I have games both by EA and Activision and am disgusted with their performance. Knowing Activision, we'd have to pay real money for Godswords and new equipment. We'd also have ridiculous hosting issues. EA would go through and kick out most of the staff, replacing it with people devoted to just keeping Runescape members-only with no new content. After making money, they would kill the servers due to any sort of decline in playerbase after 2 or so years. We don't seem to realize it most of the time, but Jagex is really one of the better video game companies out there in that for the most part they're doing this to have fun and make money as well.
  23. I don't really mind honestly. Remember that they said in the Dev blog that they were trying to complete the solo dungeon saves in time for this update; so we can only assume it isn't quite ready yet. Personally I don't mind another week for me to save up tokens for the ring update.
  24. I dont think it would unless you could find a way of gettin 2 Effigys every 3 hours consistantly - then you would be gettin 30k xp per hour in say RC and would be reasonably fast. If there is a way to easily obtain 2 every 3 hours then it would be a good way to train RC but you get no bonus cash from Rcing, unless your corping and may make more than RC in the long run  Is there any monsters that drop Effirgys that consistantly? Ive gotten 6 in 200k Slayer xp. This would be a terrible way to specifically train RC, 30k/hour with no profit but whatever drops you get? That's an almost identical rate to graahking nats/abbyssing deaths, and inferior to the 55k~/hour you get at ZMI, which is still profitable. I believe the idea behind using Effigies on Runecrafting is simply NOT to actually train Runecrafting. I mean, at those xp marks it really must be tough to actually enjoy training it. Also, Zarfot posted a merchanting guide on the RSOF saying that he has stopped merchanting because he now has enough money for the rest of the buyables and etc, but the guide was shortly removed after like 30 pages of whiners saying that they didn't want such "vital" info posted. So, we can therefore assume that he doesn't need to RC for money, making effigies a good method of xp for him.
  25. I got the exam random today and Mr. Mordaut got a graphic update too: So I guess they just have pet dragons and Revenants left?
