  1. YESSSSSS IT'S 2001 ALL OVER AGAIN STOMPFEST LIVES ON! I'm tempted to sticky this. hahahahahaha
  2. Of course you don't. You only care about what reinforces your preconceived hatred of Israel. isn't that how most racism works? spread hate - deny everything else? It's easy to deny the othersides beliefs when you dont share them, want to see them , or comprehend them.
  3. No democratic or republican will ever carry the bible belt or the other christian predominant states with a policy like that. Infact I daresay that it would be political suicide for any candidate
  4. This would be another good example of the sort of inflammatory rhetoric that makes people think it is more than the Israeli government you disagree with. To even suggest that Israel is in any way comparable to apartheid-era South Africa is insulting and, frankly, idiotic. Compare the way Israel treats minorities to how they are treated in say, Saudi Arabia. I do believe that if Isreal - had the size or economic power of the USA, no one would care what they did as much.
  5. im going to state i feel alot of you guys who scream that's Zionism" are probably anti-semantic. This is not a cut and dry issue.

  9. wonder if she will be in jail for the premier.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDpIt2mf_es This film, by all accounts, should be epic.
  11. I'm not going to say I disagree with that, I think it's interesting from the christian standpoint the bible says you do not make god in an image - and technically You got God the father/son/holy ghost and yet it's accepted to have pictures of christ/god and not offend christians. Always found that interesting. The problem is - while the pictures of Muhammad here started out harmless, they got progressively worse and while nothing was super offensive yet - this forum has the mentality of topping each other with more ballsy and more stupid things in order for laughs. It's better to just cut the crap now - then to have a bigger dilemma on our hand with super offensive images that get reports and people offended and trying to figure out what action may need to be taken. If we got offensive pictures in other topics, send me a PM and i'll look into those topics, personally. It's ashame to see a thoughtful - provoking topic turn into a complete and total "lulz" fest because people have no limits into how extreme they will go for the laughter - if anything i'm hoping to preserve the intellectual integrity of this topic and keep it from offending our users all the way from China to Africa. ~Das
  12. I think it's beyond illogical to get so worked up over a picture that you would be angry enough to cause emotional, physical or another type of harm to a human being. Like I said, I personally find the Mohammad pictures funny to an extent but I think it's objective to say that any pictures bashing Jesus, Mohammad, Budha or any deity for the lulz, is pretty disrespectful. I'm all for discussion of the subject and believe a good debate is fine but a line should be drawn It's not a matter of giving in, but making an effort to not alienate users by letting the majority pretty much for lack of better words Desecrate a minority's holy figure with offensive and to them - Blasphemous pictures. I think we as a community - are better than that. ~Das
  13. Actually I did remove them on this topic, I'm a christian, I was laughing, I saw the jesus pictures, And although i wasn't enraged like muslims get, I said "oh hey there, I guess I can relate in a way" - So I brought it up, we discussed it, and removed them from the thread. Edit: Forgot the pic on page 2. now gone.
  14. I've long fought for a more liberal, free and diverse off topic. This is where, I feel a line must be drawn. While I'm not muslim, and find the pictures somewhat amusing, I did think that it was disrespectful to whatever muslim users we have, and as a result have removed all of the pictures making fun of Mohammed. I'm ALL for this being discussed as far as the day , what it means and the ethics of it, But I don't want to see members drawing custom pictures to partake in the day - effectively bashing a religion that finds a portrayal of him offensive. IF you have a screencap from southpark or a paper or something thats caused controversy leading up to this event and can use it to enhance the discussion It would be fine to post it. but otherwise It's classless and tasteless, and I think we're better than that. I believe we can handle the discussion fine we just need to be respectful of the diverse group of users on this forum, whether you agree with them - or not. Any questions? I'll happily field them ~Das
  15. This. Cool in theory, not exactly cool with the rest of the community.
  16. I'm going to have to agree unfortunately. This sounds like an issue between you, your professor and the dean of the college you are enrolled in. We cannot compromise our moral integrity by encouraging academic dishonesty in any forum, be it you are fulfilling a time requirement or another stipulation of the course. I wish you the best of luck in your course, and strongly encourage you to chat with your professor on this matter. Thank You ~Das Tip.it Adminstrator.

  18. I have tupac listed as 2pac in my ipod, thus he is intelligible for his letter. Muse beats out Metallica because I feel KOC beats out any song metallica has done. While Enter Sandman, Unforgiven 2, and others are epic songs, I enjoy listening to muse more, and have for quite some time. To be fair, I would of went Meatloaf over them too. Metallica may play good music, but the band isn't as fan friendly and i think of them as jerks.

  20. I meant specifics: I want to know what it was used for. I don't think that they'll release that info, although I'll call customer service tomorrow to find out. I work for an ISP, in 5 years we've never had that request, but i'd say if it's over billing (We dont cap data) and a dispute at least in America you would be legally obligated to at least give some data.
  21. A tool is technology in it's most simplistic form .We improve our technology to make our lives easier You question the ethics of technology but dismiss everything asides a cell phone. Whats unethical about it? if you don't carry it around - it's no different than having a landline. For over a decade before Cells, people carried pagers. Emergency Personal and Business people used them among citizens. The Social norms of the western cultures have been focusing on INSTANT gratification for a very long time. It's a social norm that is widely accepted and thus completely ethical. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/entrepreneur/article3264420.ece Stupid broadly covering statement thats inane and illogical considering your dismissal rate on everything everyone says. What you're doing is trying to salvage the topic in a different manner after getting completely shut down in the process. You're arguments are now selectively pulling in crap people mentioned pages ago, your inability to argue that carrying the phone is unethical is boring me at this point because you are now bringing in unknown future devices and the ethics of them and dismissing logical comparisons of current inventions. Nope, I think it's a stretch to say you are forced to carry a device, it's a human choice. obviously - your social experiences in life make you feel that way , i'm sorry you do, my social experiences make me feel carrying one is a choice thats up to you, and i've never had an issue with people mentioning my carrying my phone on me - and even if i carry my phone, I don't always answer. Voicemail is lovely. Nice article from a month ago or two. I present to you current news from the last 48 hours from the FDA , and not from a health magazine thats primary focus is body building. http://wireupdate.com/wires/4901/fda-no-evidence-to-link-cell-phone-use-to-risk-of-brain-tumors/ The above link, which i referenced in my last post, Disproves that. Should stay on top of the news more. MTA had a mobile phone network with similar phone technology to todays (as far as the circuitry goes, it does the same thing for the most part) in 1956. Look it up. You asked yourself that yet? I've never seen someone dismiss so many valid points in an attempt to protect their own argument. Sorry if you think i'm being harsh, I call it as I see it.

The last thing we need is a Tip It'er donating sperm. Although this topic is controversial and a bit edgy for off topic, it does contain a fascinating moral dilemma or two However after reading this thread i'd like to ask two things. Lets not insult each other and Please for the love of all things innocent and fluffy, don't post any personal donation experiences. If you can do it in a mature and thoughtful manner and offer insight to the moral dilemma at hand - Fine. But if I read another "I get paid a hundred to do what i do at home lulz" - I'm going to get angry and lock the thread. Fair Warning. ~Das
  23. ago, people managed to live their lives with a hut made out of sticks. Do you really think that you have an objectively "better" life than they did? Do you think they didnt enjoy their life? You ever worked manual labor? Did anything the hard way? I'm strongly doubting no by your posting so far. Ever milked a cow? Planted a garden? These things can be done by machine, they can be done manually. A cell phone is a convenience. Lol this is ridiculous. I am the one questioning the need for technology, and you make an immature unreasonable assumption like this. What is your reasoning behind this? I seriously don't even understand. A guy says that we DONT need this crazy technology, but you seem to think that guy doesn't enjoy doing things with a hands on approach. I have done plenty of manual labor, thank you very much. And it is probably the reason that I hold the views that I do. A hard life breeds character. A life of laziness builds obesity and spoiled brats. Enough is enough. I'm asking this question because you have the audacity to question if we need a cell phone in our daily lives. We decidable it's a convenience so we make the choice, and hey today a report came out saying it's NOT linked to brain cancer. so yay! If you're going to have the insane approach to actually pick a device which cannot be easily replicated in the absence out of the device. If you're going to pick a device for the downfall of society that makes people lazy, pick the Calculator or the engine. The PC or a device that is actually replacing a manual task. I want to be connected to my friends wherever I go and that cannot be done without the aid of technology. As for manual labor, i'm not talking about doing it in the modern era, again as you are so fond of whining , you MISSED THE POINT. A cell phone is a device that makes life more efficient, and enjoyable for those of us who are able to use one and get the joy from it, mentally and physically. A Jackhammer, electronic/Battery or gas powered Saw/Drill or other piece of hardware is a device that makes life efficient either by providing a quicker way to do things better. a Cell phone does the same thing. A hard life breeds character? It also seemingly breeds contempt and hatred towards the people who have the more lavish lifestyle. it also continue to divides the classes with misunderstanding. I've made things with my hands and walked 20 miles in a day (Albiet on a hike and not a need for transportation), I've hunted before for sport and could easily do so for survival, I've planted and grown corn, Potatoes strawberries and other food. I'm also educated and realize I can pay someone to build something for me, or buy it built, I can find a way to go from A to B and go to the store to sneak upon a rumproast or harvest my fruits. The manual labor class needs the desk working class to make money to build more buildings for manual labor anyway. Your "Friends" that judge you based on a cell are either not real good friends or you come from a culture i've yet to encounter. ~Das
