Secondly before I sleep i'll address one more facet - the comment on the lack of quality in current mods. Our moderation team is for starters, all volunteers, but let me tell you - and i'm not one to post bull[cabbage], i'm a straight shooter. We have the best moderation team, crew and staff teams we have ever had in our near decade as a website, our staff is unbiased, our moderators - in my view are hardworking and friendly and active parts of our community. I will not discuss staff on an individual manner but i do believe we have a strong, and amazing staff If you are having to advertise based on a higher postcount by playing and not content, i worry for the future of your forum. off to bed i go.

As a user here since 2001 i'd say 2001-mid 2003 - tip.it's best years 2003 - 2005 - scapeboard was the worst ran forum on the web - essentially running off most clans and pvpers and longtime community members to othersites during this time. 2006-2007 - a long slow rebuilding process, I did 2008-2010 - taking slow but long strides towards recreating tip.it's golden years of supremacy and utter dominance The era you romanticize i consider an era where the administration struggles to build past 2 years of biased moderating, unfair bans and having a fairly conservative rule-set

Whoever removed the postcount, probably went and updated the thread without actually thinking "oh hey, this should be reworded". I can honestly say i never fathomed post count removal would upset the community here to the degree it did

Again: Worthiness is a bad word, leftover from an administration team and community that has long evolved both idealistically and culturally.

I've read my own content, you'll have to realize that I didn't write that personally and in my 2+ years on staff, I've pushed for major change to make those older stickies like that to make them be more clarified and relevant in 2010 to meet our communities need. A recent example would be the removal of the G rating tidbit from the rules. That post - sadly is another antiquated one that was reposted and is probably a good 5 or 6 old and in dire need of a rewrite - I have it in my power to do that right now - but it needs to be a staff discussion on the best way to actually write that rule - without offending the communities and cultures in that actual forum You also seem to miss the fact that this forum oddly enough slides seamlessly between quality roleplay - and...Banter that honestly like all banter doesn't exactly fit the description of what we feel is worthy of post count. I have nothing wrong with this forum, if I did - I wouldn't be here actually trying to explain the issues and commiserate that I understand your furor over post count being revoked here - no ill will was meant nor targeted towards the wonderful community you have here, and i mean that with all of my heart.

If post's were considered "unworthy" they would not be in public view, the casual conversation format of this forum and laid back atmosphere where role play and banter seamlessly flow interchangeably was the major catalyst for making this change. While I admire the roleplay, I also admire the atmosphere in forum games and the community there, my feelings on the community and their love for roleplay does not influence my feelings toward trying to keep post count from being "inflated"

It received low traffic and some sections rarely saw activity. Users felt that it segregated the community much and even alienated possible recruits. We also felt it would be more streamlined.
