For more information about RuneFest 2010, please visit the RuneFest website. We’re looking forward to seeing you all at RuneFest 2010! The RuneScape Team Jagex is proud to present RuneFest 2010! RuneFest 2010 will be the first ever real-world event of its size for RuneScape players. Taking place on Saturday 28th August, the event will be held at an exciting central London venue. RuneFest will include a range of events and activities, with more details to follow in the coming weeks. Crucially, we will be including Insider Sessions with the team behind RuneScape as an opportunity for the players and ourselves to get to know each other better. We’re holding the event as a fan celebration to thank our dedicated RuneScape players around the world for their support and to have a really good time together in real-life. In Andrew’s own words, "I’ve always wanted to go to an event like this, but I realised the only way that was going to happen was if we put it on ourselves. So we are!" Keep an eye on www.RuneFest.com to keep up to date with the latest news and information about this landmark event, and make sure you register for updates and the opportunity to buy a ticket 24 hours before the rest of the world. We hope to see you there! The RuneScape Team Please note that alcohol will be available at this event, for which proof of age will be required. Because of this, the event will only be suitable for our adult fans. Today, we’re extremely excited to announce that RuneFest 2010 tickets for those who have registered on the RuneFest website will be on sale from 10:00am (BST) on Friday, April 30th. Tickets will then be available on general release the following day (Saturday, May 1st) at 10:00am (BST). The event opens on Saturday, 28th August, running from 9:30am to 7:00pm. Tickets will be priced at £75 each. But that’s not all! To celebrate the video making talent within the RuneScape community, Jagex will be holding the first Golden Gnome Awards, culminating in a live ceremony at RuneFest 2010. In a new twist to RuneScape's previous machinima competitions, players can create videos based on two video themes and across three categories for the chance to win a coveted Golden Gnome Award. The two themes are 'Short Story' and 'RuneScape Music Video' (aka RSMV), and the three categories within each theme are 'Machinima', 'Animation' and 'Live Action Video'. As such, six awards are up for grabs in the following categories: * Short Story in Machinima * Short Story in Animation * Short Story in Live Action Video * RSMV in Machinima * RSMV in Animation * RSMV in Live Action Video Players will be able to upload their entries to YouTube and send their link to the competition entry address – [email protected] – with 'RuneFest 2010 YouTube Competition' as the subject line. The RuneScape Community Management team will be providing more information and official RuneScape music tracks for the RSMVs next week. Once the entries are in, the RuneFest 2010 judges will select their favourite entries for each of the categories. The RuneScape community will then be invited to vote for its favourite in each of the six categories in an anonymous poll. The results will be announced at a live awards ceremony at RuneFest 2010 on Saturday 28th August 2010. We’ve seen some phenomenal levels of creativity from RuneScape's video making community over the years, and at RuneFest 2010 we’re going all out with our biggest and most comprehensive video competition to date. We can’t wait to meet some of our finest video makers on the red carpet. For further information on RuneFest 2010, and for full entry details, term and conditions and dates for entry, please visit the RuneFest website. The nominees will also be announced on the RuneFest 2010 website when the poll is opened. We can’t wait to see your videos! The RuneScape Team We’d like to share with you a few more details of the RuneFest 2010 event, before tickets go on sale tomorrow for those players who have registered on the RuneFest website (and then on general sale this Saturday). RuneFest attendees will witness the world of RuneScape brought to life in various forms, including themed areas with interactivity for players to experience real-world activities such as live role-playing, ogre wrestling and archery skills. The venue will also play host to dedicated clan/group areas, RuneScape-themed food and drink venues (including the Poison Arrow Pub) and many interactive games and amusements, making the day one to remember. We’ve already announced the Golden Gnome Awards, which will have a live awards ceremony at RuneFest, as well as the Insider Sessions which will give you the opportunity to speak directly with the Jagex team. There will be other live events announced over the coming weeks, plus competitions on the day. Players will also be privy to an exclusive gameplay experience on-site that will be like nothing you’ve experienced before. All attendees will receive a bag of goodies upon entry, which will contain limited edition complimentary RuneScape and RuneFest 2010 merchandise, an exclusive collector’s entry pass and more. bored321
Considering they have limited it to 18+, means the majority of the player base cant attend. If the tickets ain't extortionate might make a weekend trip there, ain't been there for a few years. Edit: Oh nvm its 14 years+ Thanks Gradeskip93 for my awesome sig!

There is absolute no proof that the majority of the player base is under 18.In my experience the majority of serious players (eg not ppl who play for a month then vanish) are adults Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

meb
Please note that alcohol will be available at this event, for which proof of age will be required. I think they did that on purpose to avoid an overrun of 12-year olds. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Youmu
I'll most likely not go to this event, as I don't live in the UK lol. And I usually don't go to places like these anyway. Misterknowitall
If I want to be around drunk people, I'll just go to a bar instead of being around a bunch of Runescape fanboys. I also say: no thanks.
Emmentail
You think everyone there is going to get absolutely hammered? I very much doubt whether Jagex will have an open bar and let everyone who is 18+ drink to their hearts content. Btw this event is 16+.
Racheya
Hot. London is quite a travel for me, buuuuut hopefully I'll be able to blag to my parents that I'm 18 and therefore old enough to go down to London with 'a group of friends' (lol lie). Money is an issue, I'll just have to see how much it is. Shame it can't be until after September when I get my University money :P I hope we can have some TIFers going!! nightshade53
It doesn't say 'free alcohol'. I live about 30 minutes away from central london, might check it out for a laugh. If they had wifi and laptops it would be jokes.
