They rely on ip variation to log "unique" visitors. The fact USA is so huge means far more ip variation within the country where as in UK for example ip variation (or lack there of) can cause huge areas and numbers of people to only count once.35% is too big of a difference for that to account for it. If you consider the population density and the geographic size, the UK has far more Runescape players per person than the US. Not only that, but the game's made in Cambridge. Jagex is a UK based company, so it makes sense for them to hold their first event in the UK. Also, the UK isn't exactly the worlds largest country so it's fairly easy for people to get to London, and indeed from the continent, The Netherlands for example is just a ferry/plane ride away.
