[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
Yeah, I realized SPUF is full of [wagon]. The first guy I tried to trade hats with ended up saying something stupid and obscene, but the second guy was very polite and I ended up getting a Modest Pile for your SnS and a Muskelmannbraun. As far as the value of the winter crate, at the time that thread was created I believe it was about 1 refined (I found this out a little after all the "funny" hat offers), and it's been around 2 reclaimed, but it's falling. At this point, you can probably get 1 or 2 reclaimed on average. If you lurk this thread you may eventually stumble across a good offer.

If I had a million dollars....
THe thread is about spending money, not about what you would do with the money. If I had the money, I would just save it and live as a freeloader my whole life.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Where we went to school had absolutely nothing to do with our relationship. We met freshman year in highschool, way before college was even in our minds. And in the end, we chose colleges that were the best for us both not because we wanted to, but because it was necessary. His was in the opposite direction of mine by about 2 hrs. What exactly are you trying to prove here Gabe? High school relations cause problems and bad decisions for young people who think they know "love". You are wrong to love this guy. All relationships are, in the end, evil traps which interfere with your life. No relationship could ever grow from the fabled "young love" into an actual, realistic marriage between mature adults. You have no right to post your relationship in this thread and should stop polluting the young minds of the TIF community with ideas supporting committed relationships. Please stop being so negative about his cynicism. I think that covered everything ;)

Crazy man shoots at school board
Did you even watch the same video that I watched!?!!!? Not intending to hurt anyone means raising the gun straight up then shooting.... Pointing a gun at someone and firing three times shows pretty clear intention. The fact that he missed doesn't change his intent, it just means he's a lousy shot. He pointed it lower than the guy, shooting only to scare, then shot it again in the air, before being shot by the guard. After being shot by the guard, he had a moment of panic where he did appear to point and shoot, but that was because he had been forced into a panic. You don't try to aggravate a mentally unstable man. I would also like to point out that the security guard was a trained professional, while the members of the audience were not. He was hired for the purpose. The audience and the board were on opposite sides of the perpetrator - any members of the audience who pulled a gun would be risking the lives of the board members. As far as common sense goes, I wouldn't trust the hand-eye coordination and level-headed experience of a panicked citizen with my life - would you? You know that the situation ended when the crazy got shot in the shoulder by the security guard? Also, talking about "increasing the risk to innocent bystanders" is ridiculous. They already have a gun pointed at them, how much more risk can there be? Maybe if he fired at them three times? Wait, no, he did that. Also, taking those measured risks is what makes people, like the security guard, heroes. Well, having multiple guns in the room would increase the risk, as would having multiple panicked people firing many more than three shots. Also, the hero mentality is silly. The security guard was doing his job, and was hired for that purpose. Having ten other "heroes" in the room would only interfere with his ability, as a professional, to solve the problem effectively with as little risk as possible.

ok fess up... who killed facebook???
I was playing "Data Worm" and collected enough data to hack the site. I hope you didn't have any personal information on there. It's probably just down for an update. It is possible though, that through some distorted sense of righteousness Anonymous decided to attack it because Zuckerberg won the Time magazine thing instead of Assange.

- Favorite thing about the opposite sex?
How can petite bodies be 'plump and tender'? That not only sounds creepy, but confuses me because plump makes me think of fat/chubby/overweight girls while petite makes me think of little girls. And Leah doesn't smell at all! LIES Edit: A thing that I have noticed that I find attractive in the opposite sex is a very subtle curling of the lips when they smile or talk. It's hard to describe, but it kinda makes them look like a cat (...) TAYLOR SWIFT IS TALL. AND UBER FEMININE. Pssh. Yeah, petite doesn't seem to match with curvy and plump in my head. I think on some dark haired guys a bit of stubble looks good. As long as it doesn't look creepy or dirty. I like a girl shorter than me, but not too short. "Petite" wouldn't be the way I'd describe it. First, shorter girls are less intimidating than tall girls, and second, being shorter makes their boobs look bigger. Please do not make such claims without providing solid proof ;)- Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
You're normal. About half of students know what they want to do with their life when they leave high school, and very few are actually right about what they think they'll do. Just go with the flow. Notice what you're good at, remember what you enjoy, and you can move on to study those things, eventually finding a career in the field or realizing you were wrong from the beginning.- Crazy man shoots at school board
He'd probably point his gun at me or the other guy, yell "drop the weapons," and being a rational person I would. The other guy wouldn't, which is how he'd know who the aggressor is. Unless the other guy did comply, which is pretty far into a hypothetical, in which case the situation would be over and I'd have to explain myself. This guy clearly has the intention to harm others, posing a clear and imminent danger, and it warrants action. Using force that incapacitates this person is necessary for the safety of others. I'm not trampling on any of his rights - he gave them up the moment he became a threat. First of all, I'd like to point out that nobody got hurt in this situation, besides the guy who killed himself. In your situation, not only would you murder a man (and probably end up in court over it - he was mentally unstable and did not actually show real signs of intending to hurt anyone - you'll notice the guy he shoots at thinks they're blanks), but with the ten other people in the room with guns, accidents would happen. Nobody's a perfect shot, as I think this "crazy" fellow proved pretty well, and it would have been pretty easy for anyone in the audience to shoot one of the six board members after missing the aggressor. Second, what makes you think you're a perfect shot? You pulling a gun and attacking this guy would just put your own life at risk. In addition, by intimidating him, you move him to do something stupid. He would fire on you, and then be all worked up and turn to fire on others. Pulling a gun would be the stupidest thing to do in this situation, as it increases the risk to innocent bystanders.- Meds

I think I still care about Runescape. It's that stupid monkey quest that caught my eye, and then I visited the other (non-OT) parts of TIF.- New to Members: Help!
Quest. Of course, it's all personal preference, but it's what I probably did at that point. Look through some quest guides or the quest articles in the KB to find one you like, and just try it. Alternatively, you could run around and do whatever you come across until you get a general idea of the members' world. Besides the quests listed above, some good ones are: -Gertrude's Cat - for a pet cat -Knight's Sword (non-mem) - tons of smithing exp for low levels http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/novice_quests The best thing to do would be to just wander around, starting any quests you come across and just getting a general feel for the lay of the land. Once you understand where things are in general, you can go back and choose specific things to do.- Today...
- What book are you currently reading?
I've only read The Dark Tower series by King. It was good overall, but it definitely had its low points. 1st book good, 2nd great, 3rd meh, 4th backstory, 5th pretty boring, 6th meh, 7th pretty good. Hell of an ending, as well. My mom (a big reader) recommends The Stand. Whenever Stephen King comes up, she always avidly suggests that one. Yeah, The Stand tends to be the one that comes up the most from people who've read much of his stuff. I'm surprised The Shining doesn't come up more, I thought it was very good. I've also been planning on getting Dark Tower 1 for a while.- Last one to post wins

If anyone's interested, I'm auctioning off a Winter Crate on the Steam forums. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=19456382#post19456382 It's not one I recieved from a drop (I haven't gotten one yet), some guy on a public server was offering it for ten weapons. I'm hoping I can leverage this into the beginning of a hat collection.- More USA documents get released by Wikileaks
Pretty sure a rational person would, you know, take those pictures to the POLICE I do not see what value this reply has other than to make my example look 'invalid'? I would gladly discuss your views on the matter. But please don't make straw arguements like this. - Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
I've never tried them. Black pepper on chips is great. Not being able to get to sleep has to be one of the things that most annoys me. <_< I've never understood how people are unable to sleep. Do you guys actually try to sleep or do you just keep your eyes open and think about stuff? I envy you for not even knowing what it's like. Basically, you spend hours with your eyes closed, turning in your bed every 10 minutes, and even though your eyes feel tired and you try as hard as you can to ignore all of that, every little thing seems to distract you and prevent you from sleeping. Until you actually fall asleep, and then 2 hours later you alarm clock wakes you up. Or, your brain is just moving too fast to settle down, and you just think, or look out the window, or roll around, or talk to yourself, and wonder why you aren't asleep yet. - Favorite thing about the opposite sex?
