In terms of overall time, the OP wants both mining experience and ores. The best way for him/her to attain both is to not mine the ores for exp, but drop mine granite, do their best moneymaker with the time saved, then use that money to buy ores. Doing this they get more experience per hour then they would just mining coal as well as more coal per hour then they would get just mining coal. If the OP feels a need to cheat themselves and waste time by mining coal then the mining guild is the faster of the two options, however the level 15 resource dungeon is even faster if they are willing to look a little outside the box. TL;DR, both the OP's choices are almost equally poor, powermining then buying ores would be best, however if OP refuses to do this then the resource dungeon is better then both of the original two options.

Yes please, especially for people with only 2 or 3 items bound.

Average price of items sold/bought over the past week would be one way. If divine and ely prices go up to match their street prices, could this mean that coinsharing corp could be a lucrative alternative to lootsharing corp?
-
It's good but only because it gets fast exp from the fact that you can camp and train three skills at one and equally. There are faster ways to just train mining, just train smithing and just train magic.
-
Not quite. You don't need the superheating to make it faster. I use Varrock or Falador to make smithing+mining faster. If you have the patience to do it, by level 60 Falador is perfect for F2P, and sometimes even P2P. What makes smithing harder than other skills is that you need to consider that you need to use multiple methods to make smithing efficient. The 3 main methods are: *More money, less Exp (buying ore and then selling bars) *More Exp, drained money (buying ore then selling final product) *Exp for 2 skills or more, inefficient (making final product from scratch, then selling it) As for the mining, it is correct, but I find mining dater by mining coal and yes, iron is also a great way to train mining. Other than that, you are correct. Smelting and superheating gold with the family crest gold gauntlets IS the most efficient smithing experience for people who do not have high incomes. If you are free to play then there is realy no reason to train smithing very far as it has little use outside dungoneering which is arguable. Even if you did want to train smithing, mining your own ores would be a poor choice because the money saved is not worth the time spent. Similarly smelting is a poor choice because the time wasted getting slow exp is not worth the money saved. Thus we are only left with buying bars and selling products which is expensive in f2p. TL;DR Superheating while smelting is best for most members. Smithing in f2p will always be very costly, or very time consuming with the costly method often being the more efficient one.

Thank you very much for those tips. What are the prime locations the Claws are used? I use them whenever I am slaying to speed up pretty much every task. The very best spot though is Kuradels dungeon because you get the ferocious ring boost for every one of the four hits.

What is good weapon to Pk out of the Dung weapons?
Nifflin replied to Teariestwig's topic in Help and Advice
Rapier. It and the maul have similar PvP capacities however if you decide later that you want to train melee at all the rapier will help a lot with that. -
But even then it wouldn't be too good for sniping because you would need to actually log in to take advantage of the updates which you can't. Thanks though, cool idea.

Yep, I was about to buy 120m worth bones but then they rose 200 gp each and that translates into needing 125m instead of 120m. But I bet they will crash soon for two reasons: a) The wilderness will not come for a while and the current growth rate cannot be sustained. b) The supply will not decrease once the wilderness is reintroduced as botting will most likely increase the supply of bones. But there is also the longer term factor of.. c) Players who quit coming back and wanting to buy high level prayer with their cash or whatever. Personally, I will try to buy bones when the current rise crashes, c) is too big of a risk in terms of having potential to skyrocket the price of bones. The supply won't change from what it is today, but there is potential for demand to go way up. Either way, that bandos armor isn't exactly helping you. Looking at your stats, what you could do though is sell it and bust for charms until 88 summoning. That would help you a lot more then soul spit or turmoil would. It would give you mage, hp and summoning experience and would be feasible given your price range.

What are the best iTouch and iPhone apps people have used for Runescape?

I remember using something a little like this... Torag's helm Amulet of fury Saradomin body Torag's platelegs Snakeskin boots Gloves -Barrows Ring of life Ava's accumulator Rune crossbow Toktz-ket-xil Broad-tipped bolts Which gives 132 range attack and 301 range defense. Then I would use a Bunyip and EEE for healing with a couple bones2peaches tabs for emergencies. They also drop swordfish. It is semi afk becuase you don't take an arma item to so can leave it with the sound on and only check back when you hear kills. It is much faster exp and cash to pay attention though. Inventory should be something like... EEE, Alch runes, placeholders for coins, feathes, air runes, blood runes and adamant bars, gem bag. Then bunyips, summoning potions for the bunyips and extreme ranging potions for the rest leaving maybe one spot for alchs. Some people bring prayer potions to use the 10% range pray, if you do this replace torags with veracs as well. Bonecrusher and herbicide if you have them too. Also, you can play around a little, like not using bunyips and bringing a sara bird instead which would let you take a better range body while meaning you would need to rely more on B2P for healing.

Prioritize, what are the things you need, look at how long it will take to reobtain things, and use the POH store options to keep things like pets, costumes and other random stuff from clogging your bank.
-
This... would... be... epic.

Out of curiosity, how much more exp/h will you be gaining like this? Was thinking I would base my rates off of how much you will be gaining.. :P Will you pay extra for the cute outfit?

Remember that effigies exp is more dependent on skill level then penguin points exp. Pretty much means you don't want to spend effigies on skills lower then level 85. The best use would be to save effegies and just use penguin points until you are very close to the level that you want and then just get that level using effigies. Generally I would save effigies until one level before your goal level. Maybe two levels before if you have 20+ effigies saved. At level 70 effigy lamps give 17k exp, 25k exp at level 80 and 41k exp at level 94. If you are using them on prayer for example, then by saving 30 effigies to use at 94 prayer you would gain 1,257,318 exp. If you use them at level 80 where you are now you will gain only 798,774 exp. Assuming that prayer costs 20gp/exp (not 100% sure on this), then by saving those effigies for level 94 instead of using them at level 80 you save over 9 million geepees. The same applies for prayer and summoning generally speaking. Basically this shows that you should always save your lamps from effigies for as long as you can before cashing them in. Edit: As for priorities they should be extremes > chaotic rapier (while herb faming and flipping to make cash) > unicorn > turmoil > overloads > yak

If you ask me, the biggest difference is the animations. They changed them to be all spruced up, however currently in game they are still very boring. The sound might have updated but with the current animations, combat still feels like it did in 2004.

Damn, why did I buy those 2 santas hoping for some long term profit :(. I don't see any logical reason for them to crash really. 4 santas here, bought one extra last week. :ohnoes: When people quit they invest in a rare so that if they ever come back, they can expect their bank to have risen in value to parallel inflation. It's pretty common for someone to buy a lower end rare before they quit. If this update goes through and lots of people return they will then need to convert those rares back into geepees which will flood the market and cause prices to drop. This is just my speculation/prediction of what is going through peoples heads.

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]

Who is /v/ and where can I reach them to thank them? Videogames board on 4chan, though I really hope they don't make Jagex discount the poll. Here is the thread, looks like it's going to 404 soon. Also careful if you poke around 4chan, some of it is very nsfw. http://boards.4chan.org/v/res/81868630 Edit: On topic, already more votes then people currently playing the game, been cruising a few gaming forums and a lot of people who used to play and quit are voting. It bodes well. : D -
When released, almost all armour/weapons I can think off were best in its kind. (spirit shields, bandos, chaotics, barrows, claws, ...) Godswords are debatable in comparison to whip and not including show-armour like dragon plate/3rd age. *cough* Dragon Platebody *cough* Chaotic Shields *cough* Dark Bow *cough*

They're not hard to figure out if you have common sense. I finished the event.. Still a useless waste of time. You know you could just .. NOT do it ? I do all the events. The irony is his avatar. -
was my first inclination lol Heard from someone down there that they tried all the ancient and modern spells on it except that pvp spell and nothing caused any effect.
-
Nope. Wrong.
-
Confirmed but nothing actually behind it, at least according to the orb of occulus.

Seeing this every time I've logged in made me laugh pretty hard. Glad to see they still have a sense of humor over there. :D -
Jagex has stated before that they had developed items without ways of releasing them (dragon defender) and so just because it torva was tied to god wars in the KB doesn't mean it will be released that way. We don't really KNOW anything. Even the fact that it was mentioned doesn't mean it will be released. It's all rather vague and uncertain speculation.
