  1. I'd never, ever let any of my family members drive in one, let alone if I have kids some day, driving them around in those. Cutting fuel costs isn't a reason to add a few 1,000%'s to your likelihood of dying in traffic. agreed. they couldn't imaging they would be very fun to drive either with such a short wheel base. they should melt dem all down and turn them into real cars
  2. Holden ftw! and not these modern Astras and ve's and [cabbage], old holdens. the latest model Holden i would be remotely interested in is a vk commy (1984 - 1986), but really e ven that not as good as the old monaros. [hide=a vk][/hide] what i really love is earlier fully Aussie engineered cars. [hide=hz monaro. this isnt a great pic but first i found on google][/hide] this is the only kind of ute i ever wanna drive! [hide=sik ute][/hide] and this is my one tonner (a old pic ive done alot more to it since. dont mind the wiring thats all taped up now lol) [hide=my beast][/hide] 202 efi from a vk is what you see sitting in it now. stupid p pl;ate laws here prevent me from having "8 cylinders". stupid [bleep]ing [puncture]s that make those rules must know less about cars than anyone on earth. a xr6 or any hot 6 would have more power than a 253 or 308 behind one of these heavy old things. are you mad? i wouldnt put my worst enemy in a junk heap like those stupid "smart cars". i wouldn't even use something that bad to sit in the the backyard and rust while my dog slept in it. those things are ugly, and not to mention that very unsafe.
  3. im not sure whta made it die and all of a sudden work again, maybe it overheated? anyway ill answer the question anyway: turn it on and count the beep pattern then look here: http://www.pctechbytes.com/bios.htm also denismage may be on to something there
  4. a gpu can be a video card or a integrated unit on your motherboard. its like saying does fruit = orange yes orange is fruit, but there are also other fruits (apples, bananas etc). yes a video card is a gpu, but there are also other gpu's, most commonly the ones integrated onto motherboards.
  5. i certainly wont be buying one if they come to aus, even if they are as cheaper than other cars. sounds like another pma (people moving appliance), certainly not a car. sadly thats what all modern cars are like, appliances. you dont drive them, they drive you. ill be sticking to old cars until the day that i can no longer afford to drive anywhere, and even then i wont be moving to an appliance. even if it sends me broke. hopefully these stupid things will be all painted white like all other appliances. btw, this is my kind of car
  6. it doesnt matter what the brand is, just what the output voltage/amps are.
  7. lol that pic with the bikes is hilarious. it took me a while to read it all and translate the dieing to viruses and stuff but it made me lol irl in the end. EDIT: the other 2 pics didnt load at first, but once i refreshed and read i loled irl again. also that link gave me some much needed humor
  8. how long did your laptop last after you plugged in the new ac adapter? its very possible that you may have bought the wrong adaptor and that caused the problem. it should have an input/output sticker on it, same with the old one. it may even be molded into the plastic. make sure the input output voltages AND AMPS are the same. if they arnt (especially if the new one has higher output/s) then you have bought the wrong adapter. either that or it was packaged incorrectly, in any case you should have checked the adapter once you took it out of the box to check. yes it should be possible to retrieve the files. simply remove the hard drive and put it in another pc (it should be that simple right?). as long as you didn't torch the drive it will be all good hopefully. and before you dump the laptop there may be a fuse or something in the power supply that blew. im not sure if there would but don't start pulling your power supply apart anyway, thats just asking to be electrocuted, even with the laptop off and disconnected and with the battery out. also if you did have the correct ac adapter i would be asking for a refund immediately. your lucky you didn't care about your laptop.
  9. lol how could an ant get in there?
  10. Thank god someone found them. pieces of writing that good should never be allowed to be lost. Ill read them through again when i get around to it, now i can see the entire post without all the weird letters in it.
  11. rofl this is seriously hilarious! but seriously, there has to be a better reason why you ate the glass, other than you were bored. if you don't know that reason maybe you should consider seeing a shrink so they can assess you and determine if your a threat to your own health. that was a seriously stupid thing to do, and if you end up having the glass puncture your stomach or something and then you have to be rushed to surgery you have no one to blame but yourself. also you will be up for a bigger cost than $20 to see a doctor if that happens, no health insurance would cover eating glass deliberately, if you have any at all. the ambulance fee alone would be rather large, if your not an ambulance member here in Australia and you get a ride in an ambulance you could easily be up for $2000 or more (according to there ad, probably not to accurate though). see a doc right away and make sure you have your mobile with you in case you have to call emergency. and finally when it does come out, either naturally (would be painfull!) or by a surgeon, i encourage you to keep it and put it in a frame on your wall so you don't do something so stupid and mentally wrong again.
  12. well im not you but personally i do think consoles are stupid. i have a ps1 and ps2 but never use them anymore because the ps2 is stuffed and ps1 is boring, plus i have better things to waste my money on (my old holden, yes im aussie if you don't know what that is). my pc is perfectly capable of entertaining me and i can browse ebay with it to, so why would i want a console. but you can spend your cash on a console if you want, just saying i wouldn't bother, expessially after all the lights of death or whatever they call them that xbox360's have.
  13. if you already paid i wouldn't bother. you may be able to transfer the domain name but you most likely wont get your $$$ back probably. not worth the hastle. next time look around for somewhere that doesn't restrict your pages before paying.
  14. Welcome to my page. Click here to look at my cookies section! another unrelated section another unrelated section the section you referenced at the top! another unrelated section
  15. i downloaded and installed avira av free and done a scan, it found about 4 things. 2 or 3 were the files i already knew about that i had copied to my desktop and archived to upload in that post earlier, but 1 or 2 of them were things that either got there after my last avg scan (a bit over a week) or avg never picked up. after i rebooted today it picked up the uzcpgs[Caution: Executable File] thing as i was logging on, and seems to have removed it nicely. hopefully it should be all good now. thanks for your help guys
  16. you could always "borrow" a "friends" copy of the program by going to there house and using it, or even "borrowing" it by getting them to send it to you online and you could use it on your computer if for some reason your "friends" computer doesn't have a usb port, because it was broken or something, or maybe your "friend" lives on the other side of the world? ;) or you could look around for another free program.
  17. thanks for the help guys. epgStream.net (epg = 'electronic program guide' i think) is related what i use to download the media center guide (like a tv guide that tells you what shows are on) information. Here in australia you have to use a 3rd party program like that because there are laws that prevent Microsoft hosting the guide information on there website or something, so you have to use something else. ill do another virus scan and see if anything comes up EDIT: looked into that other file you found in the hijackthis log and its fine: -23382.html]http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startup ... 23382.html aperently its an adobe product update checker thats ment to run on startup.
  18. ok another update, still haven't solved problem, just found more problems! i downloaded the prevx csi from the link i posted last or first post from the website that had details on the first exe i found. i ran a scan and it found an item that it said was malicious, located in C:/windows/system32 (not good :( ) its called uzcpgs[Caution: ExecutableFile], is 362,636 bytes in size (not size on disc whatever that means) it was created Friday, September something 2004, and was modified in Monday april 14th 2008. the problem is i reinstalled windows completely with the Packard bell recovery program about a month ago, so it must have been in the manufactures (hp) package. its a hidden file and cant be deleted because it says its in use. Im not going to try delete it in safe mode yet because of when it was created. i just relised i havnt posted any system specs lol. im on win xp media center 2005 edition. i have to go now but ill be back later to post more details and see if nayones found a solution! thanks
  19. i removed files from the root of my drive and put them in a new folder. i searched a bit more on that rar file, and found this: http://www.prevx.com/filenames/42359096 ... 2EEXE.html doesnt look to good :( so what i tried was extracting the rar file to check the file sizes with the sizes mentioned on that site. i extracted with winRar and 2 files came out, [F-word]l8o[Caution: ExecutableFile] and [F-word]lo[Caution: ExecutableFile] (change f word for real thing and remove brackets) i didnt get a chance to check the file size because avg immediately kicked (atleast i know its working lol) letting me know they were threats: here is a link to a rar file containing the original exe file i was worried about, from Mooky Da KiD: CAUTION: ONLY DOWNLOAD THE BELOW FILE IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING! IT COULD CONTAIN MALICIOUS STUFF! [hide=If your sure, click here!]http://www.savefile.com/files/1862714[/hide] im not sure if i should post it here if i suspect it of being a botnet thing, but ill post it anyway, with a big red warning label, just incase someone who knows what there doing can get some info from it. mods remove it if you wish
  20. well i opened my computer and opened my hard drive today, and just as i was looking for program files folder, i noticed a very strange exe file. Under it (because im in tiles view it showed the company beklow the file name) it says Mooky Da KiD. as soon as i saw that weird name i googled it and all the results turned out to be botnet related things. I also found this myspace. I scanned the file with up-to-date AVG free and it turned out ok apparently. Here are more file information form the version tab when you right click t and select properties: Company: Mooky Da KiD File Version: 1.00 Internal Name: stub Language: English (United States) Original File Name: stub[Caution: ExecutableFile] Product Name: Stub Product Version: 1.00 heres a hijackthis log: [hide=Hijack this log]Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 7:27:32 PM, on 10/28/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16735) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\services[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\aawservice[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgwdsvc[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\COMODO\Firewall\cmdagent[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\mdm[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\slserv[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\Virtual CD v4 SDK\system\vcssecs[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\epgStream.net\wmcGuideServiceProxy\wmcGuideServiceProxyHost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\epgStream.net\xmltvDownload\xmltvDownloadHost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\epgStream.net\wmcGuideServiceProxy\wmcGuideServiceProxy[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Security Center\SymWSC[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgrsx[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgemc[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\Explorer[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\ehome\ehtray[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel\atiptaxx[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\SOUNDMAN[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\ALCWZRD[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\apps\ABoard\ABoard[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgtray[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\COMODO\Firewall\cfp[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\apps\ABoard\AOSD[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\GrooveMonitor[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\Reader_sl[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\Program Files\Spybot - Interesting there is also a rar file in my hard drives root, with a name hard to say here due to the censors. the first part is the common f word, in lower case, often used to refer to people reproducing immediately following that is 'l8o' with the ' bits and finally a dot and then exe I haven't touched either file yet, and ill put them in a zip file and then upload them somewhere incase anyone wants to look at the actual files. ---- anyway i want to know if my connection is being used to help perform ddos attacks (seeing as googling the files company name returned alot of botnet results), or if im sending spam mail to people or anything like that. thanks for all the help when it comes! EDIT: fixed a few typos
  21. maybe some program that was running at the time and didn't get shut down correctly is trying to recover lost data but freezes while doing it. i know ms word 2007 does that, but not sure what other programs.
  22. maybe your fans dieing (like mine was, but seems to be good now lol)? or maybe your computer is running hotter because of hotter temperatures (sunnier days)? get cpu-z (i think, haven't used it in ages) or something that tells you the fan speed and system temperature from sensors on your motherboard. its not going to be accurate but it gives a fairly good idea. im not sure but my computer usually idles at around 30 Celsius (does that sound right) on a standard day and gets up to about 50 Celsius under load on a standard day. i haven't checked for a while but that sounds about right. i think it used to get upto 60+ Celsius on a hot summers day for memory.
  23. thrash-boy replied to Kashi's topic in Off-Topic
    good advice there
