Have you ever laughed at arguments in other threads?
i think that was from ages ago when (if i remember correctly) there was a auction off of some big name tip.it players for them to be your slave for however long, and all funds raised went to a tip.it drop party.

Can someone please help?
As already said, switch to Firefox (<- click). trust me, you will NEVER go back once you work out how much better it is. All them java listings in your add remove programs arnt required. Im assuming they are 'Java 6 Update 1', 'Java 6 Update 2', 'Java 6 Update 3' and so on (you mightn't start at 1 and there may be a few missed here and there, but you get the general drift). You can safely remove all the updates except the latest one (update 11 i believe). if switching to Firefox doesn't fix your problem (which it probably will) then post again with whats going wrong in Firefox and someone will try to help.

Looking for a good set of speakers
i have them aswell and are more than satisfied. i got them for $100 Australian at ebay games a couple of years back when they had them $50 off (from $150 originally). there would be better ones out there but you would be struggling to find any better for the price. They don't have a mp3 player plug though

help setting up home network
ok so ever since the beginning of time there has been only 1 computer in my house, and today my brother got a crappy old acer for free, so ive decided i want to set up a home network so we can use the internet from the new computer. the problem is i have never done any networking before and need alot of help. Both computers are running windows xp and have Ethernet ports, so does the modem. I have a USB printer but im not sure if that would be usable on a network being USB. Could someone help me choosing a router please? im not looking for the top of the line super router, just something that does the job. Wired is fine, and if its cheaper it would be preferred. im also going to need a bit of help setting it up. thanks in advance

How do you make your internet fast?
im very confused by what you mean here. how does turning your computer off 5 days ago and having it on since then mean you have full memory? maybe you have got some of your terminology mixed up.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
-i believe in global warming, but dont do anything to prevent it. -i once had a crush on my cousin who was 3 years younger than me. -ive never been on a date and im 16. -my life at home is different to my life at school, i act a bit different at times, and certain things i do at home i don't mention at school (i bought a ipod but didn't tell anyone because i didn't want them to look at it and possibly criticize my music, even though i know in my head its the same as what most people listen to, and no one would think of me any different for listening to it). -i told everyone i had a job at the end of last school holidays on saturday mornings, but my employer hasn't had any work for me on saturdays so i haven't worked once, even though everyone thinks ive worked several weeks. I do however have a job there, but it isn't at set times, only when there's work available, which is almost always during the week while im at school. luckily ill definitely get some work during the week these holidays. -i used to have random gay thoughts about me and friends a couple of years ago, must have been part of my brain developing or something, haven't had any for at least 2 years.

xcopy batch for backups problem
Before i begin this is on Windows XP media center edition. Ive been looking around the net making a batch file to make backups of all the stuff on my computer whenever i run it. all has been going well until i encountered this error from xcopy: Insufficient Disc Space Sounds easy doesn't it? its NOT because i don't have enough space on the backup drive (theres plently), but because the backup drive is formatted in FAT32 which supports a maximum file size of around 4gb, and the file its trying to copy is a dvd ISO (4.7gb or so). That isnt a problem because im planning to reformat the backup drive to NTFS eventually (when i get somewhere to backup my other data while i reformat), the problem is when xcopy gets this error it immediately stops, despite the next files easily fitting onto the drive. This is despite using /C, which is "Continues copying even if errors occur.". It took me a while to figure this out, but when i did i renamed the 4.7gb file and put a x at the start (to send it to the bottom of the folder). When i tried the bat file again it successfully copied all the files it missed last time, except for all the ones starting with x that came after the 4.7gb file. here is my bat file (removed some bits): (The exclude file simply excludes files starting with 'Extract_', so i can unpack zip files and start there unpacked folder names with that, and they wont be put back on the backup drive and waste space) @echo off set drive=E:\System Backup set backupcmd=xcopy /c /d /e /h /i /r /k /y cls echo ### Backing up Downloaded Programs... %backupcmd% "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Downloaded Programs" "E:\Programs & Installers" /EXCLUDE:excludeListPrograms.txt echo Backup Complete! @pause im just curious, is there anyway to get around this? im curious because when i do goto NTFS, i dont want the same problem occurring. Even if it has to miss a file because theres no space, i want it to continue anyway and make sure there's no smaller files that can still fit. Better to lose 1 huge file than 1 huge file and all the small files alphabetically listed after it.

DigitalTV Switch
i heard a while ago that here in aus the goverment is paying stations to keep broadcasting in analogue, instead of going digital only, and that all the money their spending keeping the analogue going they could buy a digital box for every house in the country, at no expense to the person in the house. sadly my familys still on a ancient [cabbage] box tv, i swear its longer depth ways (from crappy screen to back) than it is width ways (from screen left to right). its a 'Masuda' brand, which i have NEVER heard of before. thats the way it is around here unfortunately. my mum still uses a vcr and old tapes (old as in been sitting around for years aswell, not just because its old technology). Last time the vcr screwed up, she bought another vcr despite them being old then (there was 2 in the shop i think, among all the dvd recorders). I suppose the vcr thing has something to do with her backlog of 'neighbors' and 'days of our lives' tapes (no joke, shes 6 years behind what the story's upto at the moment with neighbors). Thats only set to get worse though, she rarely watches 5 episodes a week (which is how many she tapes because there on Mon-fri). I think I worked out ages ago that in 20 years she will be 5200 episodes behind or something, god knows how many tapes that will be if the series is still even going. I hope i dont get addicted to old technology like that when im older.
