  1. couldn't agree with that more. MATH is the core to ALL science. without it science would be just a big scramble of garbage. imagine trying to do any science if you couldn't even add 1 and 1. it would be useless.
  2. thats exactly what i found. when i switched to avira 3 months ago it found several viruses that avg hadn't in its countless scans.
  3. elbow: ytgjhtrfasdsd=0-op nose: 65y645qwyu-g96y7
  4. avira antivir personal and comodo firewall pro (both 100% free) have been keeping me safe without any problems. as long as these products continue, or similar free products continue im never paying for a firewall or anti-virus program.
  5. thanks for the help guys yes thats what ill end up doing now. he just wanted it on the flash drive so he could use it on any computer.
  6. my brother has this seriously piece of crap flash drive that is really pissing me off. Its a couple of years old and is only a crappy brand (Office One, i dont think they made it probably made in china and branded that). Im running Win XP Anyway he wants gta3 put on it today so i plug it in and plug in my 160gb WD passport. I start to copy it over and it works great for about 1 minute then stops with some error. I try several times with the same error just 30 seconds in each time. While ive got it plugged in i noticed it also randomly disappears from my computer and a few seconds later it reapears, then the window asking me what to do comes up. I then decide to try and convert it to ntfs because its in the FAT file system. the first thing i try is "convert G: /fs:ntfs" in command prompt but it says i need to run chkdsk /f. I do that (with no errors found btw) and try converting again. It starts converting but eventually fails saying something i cant remember now. Now i have this popup in the bottom right that keeps saying windows failed to write G:/???.msc or something like that every minute or so and that the data has been lost. Anyway i right click it in my computer and select format. After about 6 attempts it finally works and i format it to FAT32 successfully. By this stage i couldn't care less about any data he has on it, not that there was anything important anyway. I then convert it to NTFS in command prompt successfully. I then try again to copy GTA3 over, and it again fails a small way in with the error: Cannot copy setup: the parameter is incorrect It also randomly switches from the volume label in my computer (eg 'Bobs FD' not that thats the real label) to 'Removable Disk'. When it is removable disk you cant access it (with error "Please insert a disk into drive G:"). Sounds to me like the Chinese piece of crap has finally died. The paint is wearing off so its had good use for the cheapest 2gb flash drive that was in the store at the time. What are your thoughts? is it just software related (ie reparable) or is the hardware dead (ie chuck it and buy another)?
  7. i seen the ad for that on tv here in aus yesterday. they were having a 'party' where they all just sat around and the 2 hosts made 2 pasta sauces and a hell of alot of other things in like 7 SECONDS!!! they kept turning it on and saying "it takes 1...2...3 seconds" but by the time they said "seconds" and "it takes" it ended up being about 6 seconds. i was really tempted to want to buy it but i managed to withstand the urges. proves to me atleast that this type of advertising sometimes actually works.
  8. lol. wouldn't the light break fairly easy if it was the size of a head?
  9. yes i would trust him. its a simple mistake anyone is bound to make sometimes. im sure he would be much more focused during surgery and is highly unlikely to make such a mistake then.
  10. giftcard sounds good, but i would get her something small to go with it aswell (some flowers or something) EDIT: when i say flowers you don't have to spend a cent on them. go for a walk or to the local park or something and look in peoples gardens, an when you see something with lots of colors and no ones looking, grab a few and run off.
  11. use 3448 people! its the tiny town where i live and im the only one to do it there!
  12. i just did mine. i love the map idea
  13. paint.net is suppose dot be good but ive never used it. Ive had a program for a while called Graphics Gale which is quite good, its a bit different from paint though. If i ever need to do anything i use photoshop or plain old paint though, so i cant give very good advice.
  14. Ad aware SE has been discontinued for ages, its ad aware 2008 now. if your still on SE i highly suggest you update! What i use (and find is best): Anti Spyware: Ad Aware 2008 in combination with Spybot S&D Anti Virus: Avira AntiVir Personal. Alot of people say NOD32 is the best but its not free, avira is. I have previously used avg (until about 2 months ago) and i can say that Avira is definitely an improvement on AVG. Firewall: Comodo Firewall pro. simply the BEST free firewall in my opinion. I wouldn't use zone alarm unless my life depended on it.
  15. there was a ad for a foot repair thing i saw today. It was basically a white thing you hold in your hand and it has razor things on one side, so you can scrape all the dead skin of your feet. It was very safe to, it didn't pop a balloon when it was tried on that! and even better the skin shavings are stored within the device so you can empty them into a bin next time you have a chance! and it came with about 4 other things free if you called within 10 minutes, one of which were a nail polisher valued at over $160! and it was all for just 5 easy payments of $14.95 !!!
  16. thats a very interesting find im only making this post to test it lol EDIT: for those you cant get it to work its Alt+Shift+S (notice the capital s in the original post). i just had that problem.
  17. first google result for "iambigbrother uninstall": http://www.spywareremove.com/removeIamBigBrother.html scroll down the page a bit to 'IamBigBrother Manual Removal Instructions' I didn't read through it very much, but if someone who knows what there doing could read through it and confirm it looks correct, that would probably be good.

describes me almost perfectly: In the section where it says more about who you are, was also close to spot on. alot of the kinds of jobs i would like to do were listed there (electrician, math teacher, mechanical engineer, steelworker to name a few.), but somehow it had the one i really want to do missing (automotive mechanic). maybe its not in there job list?
  19. your principles just afraid of getting sued in the rare event that something does go wrong. tell him/her/it to grow some balls and stop being so worried about the law. make a pention. make people who want to play get there parents to sign a form that says they cant sue if you have to. whatever you do just make sure you get the dodge ball back.
  20. Desktops Pros -Much higher quality & performance for MUCH less price. -a MUCH longer lifespan -Upgrades are a sinch, parts are easy to find that fit, and fitting is as simple as removing a few screws at most -More support for games etc due to better hardware. -Seeing as its not going to move anywhere, a dsl connection would be perfect, and it provides more performance than a wireless connection more suited to laptops. -you can move it around on the desk to suit your needs. not everyone likes the same screen position or sitting in the same spot. -things such as printers can be plugged in and left there, never to be touched again. Cons -You cant take it with you wherever you go -takes up a bit of space (usually not a problem, expessially if you have a space where you old one is atm) ----------------------------- Laptops Pros -You can move it around with you -Best suited to the likes of teachers who absolutely MUST take there computer with them to each class for various reasons. Cons -upgrades are usually a pain from what ive heard -parts that fit your system are usually very hard to come by, even old ones (old technology) -parts which are up to date (the latest technology) rarely exist that will fit your laptop as soon as it ages the slightest bit. -have to worry about keeping battery charged -the battery is just another thing to worry about, just another item that could have something go wrong, and when it does you will know about it. -unless you want to carry a cable around behind you, you will need to go wireless, which means you now have the issue of signal strength and poorer connections. -everything is so much more compact that it can become annoying at times. -you cant plug as many accessories in unless you want to carry them around with you. ----------------------------- My summary is: Unless your going to use it in instances where it must be transported around (work/school etc) with you so you can use it during your day, buy a desktop. If you just need it, but don't need it with you all day, a desktop is a much better option.
  21. try it in Firefox and if it works, you know its just a bug in chrome.
  22. so basically every time you copy a file into a directory it automatically updates the bar on the left (part of your html page)? if i have understood correctly all you would need is a php or maybe javascript function that dynamically creates the bar on the left when the page loads. to update the bar you would just refresh the page.
  23. i don't think it was designed to fly. it was designed to fall out of the shy at huge speeds with huge amounts of explosives on board, to destroy huge targets. it would be attached to a 'Mother ship' which would drop it when over or near the target, and it would then be flown straight into it, which also solves the problem of how to land it. (it wouldn't exist to land) I bolded the main bits
