  1. i'm pretty sure that he is right on this one. For example, your barrows armour does not deteriorate from new until you have first used it in combat, so that pattern would hold after it has initially deteriorated.
  2. yeah it hits as good or better than rune for 8 of the 10 charges. The drawbacks are that it is very expensive to maintain at the start; the rapid option is not as quick as a mage short; and there is no spec. However, it is definitely my bow of choice though, as I dont have to worry about fletching pile of arrows all the time.
  3. mining essence used to be the best way of making money in f2p, as all the members would want to buy it so that they didnt have to mine it themselves. Now with the introduction of pure ess and regular ess, this is no longer the case. Iron and coal still have good value, so that is your best bet for making money.
  4. the goblin mine is the spot at the end of the long tunnels that you can get to from the lost tribe quest. The way that I mine (which is pretty rarely) is to head to the Chasm mine and power mine the three iron respawns that are there, dropping as I go. At level 70 mining, I pick up the addy respawns, and carry on mining iron until I have a full inv of addy ore. It's solid xp.

personally, I think that the torag, whip, defender combo is pretty good. If you want to train str, then just get a d scimmy - they are pretty cheap. That's what I do anyways.
  6. do slayer. you'll get good drops along the way, a variety of monsters to kill, slayer and combat xp, and clue scrolls. Can't say better than that. Also, you'll get your slayer up to 55 so that you can use magic dart. If that doesn't float your boat, then fire giants I reckon. They have good rune drops but no clues though.
  7. well the second option is a lot faster, but you need marrentil to keep the burners going, and you need a friend with a marble altar and marble burners. you also need to supply your own bones, and as you cant get the butler to bring them for you, you'll haveto bank so you probably need your freinds house to be in yanille.
  8. dont bother with watering or anything like that. you need one basket of tomatoes to pay the farmer, and the will guarantee your tree growing. Always pay the farmers for trees as they are awesome xp.
  9. nah - dont bother with super compost if you are paying the farmer for things that give a set amount of stuff like trees/bushes.
  10. or you can get your servant to take your stuff to the sawmill for you

peronally, I'd buy the herbs and get the seconds. Make the best potion that you can for each herb (except ranarrs). This should get you where you need to go pretty fast. You are unlikely to make money this way though.
  12. i like rise of the red axe series the best. although the myreque and gnome story lines are pretty cool too.
  13. ok - starting farming isn't that easy. Head over to the allotments and plant 4 allotments of potatoes. You can pay the farmer with compost if you like. Do this of all 4 allotment spots and keep visiting your old ones to see if they get diseased. Once they have grown, farm and replant. This should take you up a couple of levels. Once you have a few bags of potatoes, use them to pay the farmer to look after your onions, and repeat for cabbages etc etc. Plant flower or herb seeds that you can for your level. Basically, that's the best plan until you can get to trees and high level vegetables. Plant whatever tree seeds you can, like apples and oaks (make sure you pay the farmer for these), and good vegetables. Melons and sweetcorn seeds are hard to get so either look after them yourself or pay the farmer. You might also want to watch over your limps (but you can do that while fletching). Dont bother with hops or bushes. They are not worth it. Level 30 should be pretty quick to get if you use all 4 allotments. Wield an air staff and plenty of laws and just tele/use ecto to get to all them quickly.
  14. I always use the butler. I have to pay him every 8 trips but he is fast and I think the most economical. If money is no problem, use the demon butler. You can do up to 24 planks a trip (=3 larders). the butler does 2 1/2 larders a trip, so i alternate between building 2 or 3 larders each time. I also dont bother with trips to the sawmill. Get the butler to unnote your logs and planks them. btw, I'm 72 construction, it's taken me several mil to do. Oaks all the way. Save up your money for marble and gold leaf so you can have really nice stuff when you get to those high levels. One more thing, randoms are really annoying when constructing. Always make sure that you have a full inv of stuff before talking to the random event. you CANNOT drop stuff in building mode. Oh, and another thing, have a plan of how you want your house to look. I had to rebuild mine due to rubbish locations. e.g. make sure that your portal chamber is next to your altar, which is near the entrance. Decide which rooms you want too, you might find yourself with no rooms left to build a dungeon (20 rooms max)
  15. you just have to start the quest and gewt up to the bit with setting the mirrors up. Once you have the cutscene telling you where each of the gems are, then you can just wield your mask and head into the smoke dungeon.
  16. well now that i have done all the quests, I really regret using guides on some of them, and wish that I had spent more time trying to figure out the puzzles. you clearly have lots of quests still to do, try doing them all without using a guide or any help.... To be honest, a lot of RS isn't really that challenging, hence why I like doing quests. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
  17. definitely agility. For only a month, you want something that you can take back to f2p. I would also suggest doing some quests that give good xp in f2p skills, but dont have much/any members requirements. Also, take advantage of some of the fun things that you can do in p2p like pest control, castle wars or even the agility arena (get 100 ticks or so for good agil xp).
  18. im glad there are a few leo supporters here. very handy random when you are far from a bank (like killing dusties) cos you can bank. Basically, any randoms that force you to speak with them while you are in the middle of combat are bad. Particularly those that tele you away when you dont/are unable to chat. I'm looking at you sandwich lady!
  19. i gotta go with heros. Things like legends and fishing are good, but i can live without them in the game. I'm not sure that I can do without my precious charged glories.... Also noone had mentioned the crafting guild yet. I use that second only to hero's due to the handy gold, clay and silver spawns they have there.
  20. i love quests. I have completed them all :) I would love to see a sequel to rise of the red axe or the elven story lines. I enjoyed the most recent quest - I cant wait for a sequel to that too. I guess that I'll just have to wait and see what we get next...
  21. i'm assuming that the sceptre piece you got from the stronghold of security. There are 4 pieces to the sceptre, each one dropped by a different new monster on each of the 4 levels. You put them all together to make a skull sceptre which allows you to teleport to the barbarian village. This has 5 charges. You can only make one sceptre at a time, but you can have as many pieces as you like.
  22. This topic is hilarious! gotta agree with that lol ^^ male: wise old man (maybe it's just the blue phat....) or see above.... female: one of the elf ladies other: cute creatures (you know they say beauty is only skin deep....)
  23. im darlor. Noone else on this thread has it (yet). A few people have been close though. Until I saw this thread I thought that there would only be about 4 different names for each gender. I wonder what happens when you to to the makeover mage and change your gender? Does your name change too? So would darlor become darla for example?

well there are plenty of spots all over runescape. Personally, I chop them at draynor, as there are loads of normal trees in the woods nearby
  25. sometimes the lever is a different colour to the others, or sometimes it is at a different elevation - you should figure it out pretty easily.
