  1. Well, what's wrong with calling people PC products when they do nothing but sit at pest control all day? It's much, much easier (And cheaper) to raise your magic through PC, as you never have to actually use a magic spell. The same also goes for range. If you're training melee and supplementing it with void knight points, then it's not uncommon to get 100K experience per hour with absolutely *NO* risk what-so-ever. Using PC as a means of training is incredibly easy. You lose nothing, yet you gain everything.
  2. You know what's wrong with PC? You can do very little (Next to nothing, actually) and be rewarded with a more-than-fair share of experience in any combat skill of your choice. Personally, I wasted a ton of runes on 99 mage (I didn't high alch, as I don't have the patience to click over and over and over again). It's a slap in the face when people can sit at PC all day and gain 150K+ mage experience without ever casting a magic spell (This goes for every other combat style too. I just chose to single out mage). How exactly is that fair?
  3. The special uses 35% of the bar and it's the same as the MLB. Also, the magic composite bow fires approximately the same speed as a crystal bow. And, I might be wrong, but I thought it gave +71 to range.
  4. I noticed that today too. Maybe I missed a quest or something.
  5. I was going to post something of the same. I know that Runescape is a game and it's played for fun, but this type of stuff borderlines a serious addiction. Even if the player in question was able to get 60K hunter experience per hour, this would mean that (s)he played around 217 hours in an 11 day span. 11 days equates to 264 hours. That means that (s)he only spent around 47 hours away from the computer in an 11 day span. I don't care what anyone says, but that's sad.
  6. I'm not sure if this has been said, but the different attack styles hit different speeds. Range is the fastest, followed by melee then mage. Max damage seems to also follow suit.
  7. That was the max I hit with mage in around 200 tries. I don't think anyone has noted it, but all three attack styles have different speeds. Range attacks the faster but has the lowest max hit while melee attacks the slowest but has the highest max hit. Mage is somewhere in the middle.
  8. Because, as you know, only melee'ers need defense  Edit: I forgot to mention that magic defense is composed of one's defense and magic level. Therefore, you would expect a decent ranger to have a decent magic level, so you could count that as one more stat needed. Of course, it's really up to you whether or not you wish to count it.
  9. Yes, I realize that. But it also says that there will be a new range of weapons and armour to use so that's where I got my conclusion from
  10. Well, I haven't read all of this thread nor have I read everything about the upcoming hunting skill, so forgive my ignorance as it may show somewhere in my post. Anywho, who said that hunting would be a primarily non-combat skill? In my opinion, it could possibly have something to do with ranging and cooking. In history, hunting has primarily been done with throwing weapons (Bows and arrows and javelins, being the main example). We already have one form of hunting in the game and that's chompy hunting and to kill them you have to use a special type of bow. So perhaps the upcoming hunting skill will work something like that. As you progress you will be able to hunt a variety of different creatures but, to kill them, you'll need better hunting materials (In this case, a bow). Level 1 - Crappy bow with crappy stats Level 80'ish - Good bow with good stats (And a special) Bah... Who am I kidding? I just want a range update. But a guy can dream, can't he?
  11. Wait for the skill to come out, then you can complain.
  12. Are you kidding? Considering most people between 55 and 75 combat have the defense of air, it wouldn't be hard to kill one of them using a DD special. Anyway, I'm 108 combat and have had 99 range since September 2004. I quit trying to range PK after Jagex killed the MSB special because there's little reason to PK if you can't kill anyone.
  13. To everyone saying that the combat triangle is equal, I'd like for you to do me a little favor; Head on over to the Graveyard forum, browse through the threads there and kindly notice the lack of range PK's. If range is so good, then where are all the range PK's? And, furthermore, if the combat triangle is equal then why are the majority of PK's done by melee'ers? It doesn't take a genius to deduct the answers to the last two questions :wall:
  14. Nope. I've never skipped a slayer task. Ever. I never understood why people don't kill them. They're good mage experience.
  15. Personally, I don't really care about the update (When it comes). I have four 99 skills, but I'm not going to rush out to show off my cape. Besides, knowing Jagex the capes will probably have some type of bonuses which unbalance the game in some way or another. And I'll bet a party hat on that.
  16. I bought my whip for 22.3M way back when they were first introduced. Do I regret it now? Nope. I knew then that the price of the whip was bound to fall. If you're one of those people who don't like that the price of the whip has fallen, then you can blame the people who camp out at abbies 24/7; They're the reason the price of the whip is falling faster than a rock. You only have yourself to blame for that.
  17. Save yourself the trouble by forgetting that the update exists. It's a waste of five whole minutes. Trust me.
  18. 85 slayer is far better than most every other skill, the lone exception being runecrafting. Apparently people are under the delusion that because they got 85 slayer, they should just be given whips.
  19. The price of a whip will NEVER fall below 1.5M unless Jagex comes out with a better melee weapon than the abby whip-- I'll bet a white party hat on it.
  20. I've been playing since around 2002, thank you very much : The bottom line is that we don't need higher level equipment, as the majority of Runescape can't even wield the (Current) best items available to them. The only reason why you think we need better equipment is because you can already wield the best. Practically speaking, there's no need for better equipment.
  21. Define high level for me, if you would. As it currently stands, there are more people who CAN'T use-- For examples-- Barrows armour compared to the number of people who CAN use it. Those who are able to wield it complain that there's nothing better while those that can't wield it complain that it's requirements are too high. It might not be high to you because you've already attained the ability to use it, but it is high for many other people. It's the whole perception thing (You know... "The truth is in the eye of the beholder."). Besides, "High" levels already do insanely good with the "Low" leveled equipment. Why should there be anything better?
  22. If you un-mount it, you lose it. I guess Jagex did that to prevent people from power training slayer without actually killing anything. Actually you do get back the head when you un-mount it.. same goes for cw armour, metal armour, fish trophy? Swords, Glorys... etc.. The KB says that you don't get a mounted head back when you un-mount it, so I'll go with that until someone proves me otherwise. I would try it myself to confirm (Though I'm 99% sure that you don't get it back), but I've got no head to mount.
