Read the contract you signed. As a rule (in the US anyway) it must be explicitly stated in the contract the terms under which the contract expires / you can get out of it. If the lease is for a specific term (9 months, in your case) the contract usually automatically expires. If they are demanding that you sign a new contract (IE not the original one) if it is in any way different from your original one you must explicitly agree to the new terms, or it is considered to be void.
  2. He's not bad - as a right wing conservative radio host he does say some strange things, but taken as a whole most of his shows are entertaining and informative radio from a conservative perspective, similar to Rush. He has a job because like every other popular entertainer, he has plenty of fans - something like 10 million regular listeners.
  3. This sounds like one rogue judge - in the US there is no law requiring people to identify themselves to the police, or indeed talk at all, and legally people can only be held for 24 hours before they must be released or have charges filed against them (and be informed of the charges). As said above, the ACLU will have a fun time with this.
  4. It has been quite a long time since I had my mouse fixed, so I don't recall anymore although i am almost positive they have an 800 number.
  5. Did you call Logitech? I own an MX revolution mouse as well, and when I had a problem with the scroll wheel (similar to yours) they told me it was a common defect in early hardware revisions, and they cross shipped me a new one so I wouldn't go without the mouse. Extended the warranty another year too.
  6. It's too bad they are a racist - things like "whites only" just hurt the number of people voting for them. Aside from that however they seem like a fairly legitimate party that wants to reverse many of the more backward policies in the UK.
  7. I agree with the above posters - a saying and a quote are essentially the same thing, so please use that thread. Locked.
  8. I never saw the point in them. The school I attend right now has no uniforms, and it's one of the top 3 high schools in the state (and is public). I don't see any problems that could possibly be fixed with such things, so, as they say, if it aint broke, don't fix it.
  9. The difference between, say, water and bandwidth is that there is no increasing cost as you use increasing bandwidth - while water may cost a penny per cubic foot to treat and pump, internet bandwidth does not work that way - either an ISP has enough or it does not. This is why any type of bandwidth cap on systems outside of certain special situations (like satellites, where bandwidth limitations can be a problem) is nothing more then a creative attempt to price gouge customers; most ISP's run nowhere near network capacity, and if they do upgrades to the network are very, very cheap.
  10. Like most of the extremley expensive science projects built in the past 50 years, it was constructed to model nuclear weapon effects. It is an extremley interesting device.
  11. Two things - First, people need to get back on topic. If the stereotyping and complaining about the existence of the thread continues, warnings will be handed out and the thread will be locked. Second, I recently saw a description of how exactly they freed the captain, and those snipers must have been excellent shots. Even though it was from relatively short range, the fact that they made three simultaneous headshots from the rolling deck of a ship at night while missing the captain only inches away is amazing.
  12. While it may seem that the Iranian people hate the US in particular and the west in general, the whole thing is overblown - just like most of the world, most Iranian people are quite happy with Obama, and the Iranian government has been paying people to attend the death to Amerikka rallies for years (as people wouldn't otherwise go). Obama's election and the falling price of oil have undermined much of Ahmadinejad 's domestic support.
  13. Nvidia makes only a very small handful of laptop chipsets; and all of the ones they do make come with a descrete graphics card built in.
  14. First off, you couldn't sell your current computer for much of anything - computers have essentially no resale value. As to your new computer, that is not a particularly good deal, but I may just be off since prices are generally significantly higher in Europe compared to the US. Finally, what do you define as "good" games? Runescape or Crysis? The computer could run games like world in conflict or crysis at medium - low settings just fine, but not much above that.
  15. Moved to Tech and Computers.

The SAT was easy. I took it in 8th grade (last year) and scored a solid 2300.
  17. As did Vermont today. here. It appears that the barriers to gay marriage might finally be falling en masse.
  18. Correct. Please post on one of the above threads rather then starting a new one. Locked.
  19. This does not surprise me. Because of the nature of the UN, the arab states often force through resolutions that are; put simply, crazy. As usual people will ignore this one and move on.
  20. Statistically around 1 in 20 people are homosexual; in the US alone that makes 15 million people. You are hardly a freak.
  21. Locked. Please use the sticky mentioned above rather then posting a new thread.
  22. Do the math: if it has happened to 200 people in history, and there is 6 billion people on earth, the chances of it happening to you are around 1 in 30 million. You are substantially more likley to die from a falling coconut (around 75 deaths per year)

Ill probably pick out somewhere interesting to go; currently im thinking about LA or San Fransisco on the west coast or possibly Washington DC on the east. I have no concrete plans at the moment, but I will almost certainly be going to one of those places. Break starts two weeks from now.
  24. You have one of Mao Zedong's most famous quotes in your signature. You are aware he is your political opposite? I have Mao in my signature because he managed to take over and rule over one billion people with an iron fist, killing tens of millions and still being adored by the people of China. He is in my signature because of his status as a tyrant, revolutionary and dictator, not because of his political beliefs.
  25. I like my capitalism and freedom.
