  1. the damage update has a very little effect on what it was supposed to do, which is reduce the ridiculous power of attacks. most people wear melee armor which at best has like a 15 % total soak. this is nothing. we need like 50 soak or 20 overall reduction also to be clear it's not the triangle that's broken but more combat power in general a good brid stands to benefit from this update because mages have highest melee soak
  2. wow I don't mean to spam but that's the worst spelling I've seen in ages
  3. Agreed. Sup. how about reading threads aye. MMG said it himself, have multiple friends confirmed, and a friend shared his screen with me over Skype. chill out, was just posting evidence to your claim
  4. people in the cc were saying mmg was there 15 minutes prior
  5. I would consider seriously getting into dangerous pvp if the old wild came back. it'll be a lot of fun.
  6. Aww, I love my eagle Eye...then again, I only use it for warring as a range tank, which isn't exactly general use :P Yeah, I'm probably actually getting EEKS before CKS despite my rank order, but this is because CKS will be useless after I get a div/ely. EEKS will still be useful for avoiding barrages. I still think spectral is better than EEKS, though. I just have no use for tokens and a steady supply from DGing for fun
  7. Again, to be completely fair, I wouldn't say CLS is useless. It's very marginally better for TD's (depending on switch style), Bandos w/ shield, Safe pvp. The OVERALL better choice is rapier, since it's far better than CLS against low defense and comparable everywhere else. However, that isn't to say rapier is CATEGORICALLY better, in all ways. There's a difference. I don't think it's right to call CLS users "stupid", but I think it IS a mistake to get CLS as your first chaotic. For GENERAL USE: Rapier>CBow>Maul>Rigour>Staff>CLS>FKS>CKS>EEKS
  8. Divine SS 2200+ total 120 dg?
  9. slayer to get your combat stats up get 85 dg frost dragon until maxed combat dks/tds/bandos til your bank explodes
  10. You cannot write a legal macro. Macro's of any sort are illegal. There is a hole in someone's logic then. By that I mean I'm pretty sure programmed relative clicks are illegal too.
  11. Depends on how willing you are to risk DFS is almost certainly superior to Obby shield in all cases if risk is not a concern, EVEN with the 10% soak. HOWEVER, obby shield has a major advantage (not having to risk 1 slot)
  12. half my trips at dk's end up with me dying in my house or running out of prayer lol. i like to go as long as possible without supplies
  13. barrows was and still is among the best armor in the game however these updates really don't change much.
  14. idk, i'm kind of skeptical because of how low the soaks are That's not what I meant :P barrows items have better soak values in addition to better defense values (than bandos), so idk why people think bandos would go up expecting a bandos crash, since tassets were already in a bubble for whatever reason Range defense, far less loss to mage offense, prayer, and killing sup in 1-2 fewer hits all really help. Barrows isn't good for 2.5brid, TBH. Bandos chestplate is better for 2.5 brid; tassets is marginally better or worse Mage offense only applies to top Verac has better prayer bonus Was mainly talking about tassets :P

  16. Thanks for the replies so far anyone know about the odd items like 3a vambs or bandos boots? IDK why bandos is going up, the soaks are still worse than barrows lol. bandos is so overrated...
  17. wait are you serious? it'd be very easy for me to write a "legal" macro then.
  18. Last night I bought 500 obby shields just to flip, looks like I made a good decision  Bought at 183k, min, yesterday, and they sold for max, 197k today. 8m profit overnight!!! Considering you can only buy 10 every 4 hours, I would love it if you could tell me how you managed this. Also they're bound to go up a lot more, since they're probably now the most economical shield to use against bosses who use ranged. Lower risk and cost than DFS with comparable strength and ranged defense. only real weakness is mage defense; melee defense is usually not a concern at bosses
  19. +1 Also can we get someone to accurately compile all the soak info? Item ----------Melee soak ----- Range Soak ----- Mage soak Arma Helm Arma Body Arma Legs etc.
  20. 3ak comparable to dfs against ranged 3ak < dfs against melee 3ak < dfs against mage
  21. sorry to burst your bubble, but sup's max hit (300ish?) is so low that soaking barely makes an overall difference :( i thought about this too haha
  22. I think you mean spectral? Arcane is for mage offense + defense anyway. Neither mage book, or tome of frost have soak either. Weather farseer is better than spectral is up for debate though. No I'm talking about the arcane spirit shield. The arcane spirit shield gives +3 more magic attack, +18 more crush defence, +12 more range defence and +3 prayer bonus than the farseer kiteshield so most people thought the arcane spirit shield was better. But now that the arcane spirit shield gives no damage soak, do you think it will be better than the farseer kiteshield, which gives +14% melee absorbtion. It's not going to get worse if both stats are exactly the same as before Arc is overall a better shield both before and after the update. The update could only have made arc even better. Durr because all combat only consists of your opponent hitting once at 800 durr. overall damage reduction is the value you should care about in 90%+ of situations.
