  1. Fire Giants are an excellent task. Whoever says Baxtorian Waterfall is crowded is wrong, it has not been crowded for a long time. There is plenty of space. You can usually even get a world to yourself during non-peak hours. Use a dragon halberd. You are probably too weak to melee them and you could try ranging them, but it would probably be ineffective.
  2. Awww, I rather fancied the avatar on the right. :( Is there any way to add an option in the UCP to let each user choose which side the avatar is on?
  3. A dragon square is kinda useless. It has only slightly higher defense bonuses than a rune berserker shield, which has only slightly higher defense bonuses than a Toktz-ket-xil. If you need high defense, use an obsidian shield or a rune berserker shield, or if you need something cheap, a rune kite shield. Of course, if you can afford it, the dragonfire shield is the best shield in the game for defense, although it is debatable that the rune defender is better than it for normal training also.
  4. Yeah, but you aren't even calculating in the time it takes to get the charms. Bursting costs that much, and your wasting weeks to get 99. Hmm... wonder how much that times worth? At least 11k/crimson... You say that bursting costs 700k per hour. But if bursting gets you 150 crimsons per hour and you could sell crimsons for 11k each, then you can make 950k per hour, bursting. (11k * 150 = 1,650,000; 1,650,000-700,000=950,000) Any money making method that makes almost 1mil per hour and lots of magic experience too is not going to stay like that for a long time. I think that people would be willing to lose 100k per hour just for the magic experience. So, I think that crimsons would drop to 4,000 each. (4,000 x 150=600k; 600k-700k= loss of 100k per hour)
  5. Sorry, I didn't know. I just thought that 14k per crimson seemed way too high. It seems like 4k per crimson is the general consensus or somewhere around the average, anyway.
  6. But you are discounting the experience gained when you burst rock lobsters over kill waterfiends and how much time that experience would take to get. Here compfreak847 has reasoned that bursting costs 191k per hour more than waterfiends. Also, he assumed that you get 200 crimsons/hour bursting, for a 100 crimsons/hour difference. So crimsons would be worth roughly 2k each.
  7. I tried with 70 range, didn't even get to Jad. I tried again with 79 range and got to Jad, but didn't know which prayer to use (I should have read the guide better) and died. Get higher range or you will die without even seeing Jad.
  8. Do Recipe for Disaster... those barrows gloves are very useful.
  9. That's cool :). The only friends I have that played RS stopped playing. One got banned for macroing, another quit because he played it too much, a third just quit because he had no patience, a fourth still might play a little and hangs around the TIF, and a fifth and a sixth still play a little and are catching up with me :ohnoes: . All my friends who don't play RS probably think that it is stupid but that doesn't stop them from being my friend and they never outright tell me that they think it's stupid, but I get the feeling that they just think MMORPG's are silly because they have heard stories of people being addicted to WoW, i.e. killing someone in real life because they stole a sword from them or setting someone on fire because they thought that they were a fire mage.
  10. Sucks to hear about your moronic brother. :( Sadly, my brother is also a moron. He swung a textbook at me, almost breaking my finger. He punches me a lot for no reason. I have developed reflexes so I pretty much know when he is going to take a swing at me, and usually when he just comes near me I back off. Sometimes he punches me for "thinking" that he was going to punch me. So if I flinch when he comes near me (a natural reaction for me now) he will say "Why do you think I am going to hit you? That's an insult to me, saying that I'm violent! Now I will hit you for that!" :(

My tears cure cancer. Too bad I have never cried. :anxious: Just kidding, I cry when my brother punches me and when I lost a spelling bee in 6th grade even though I spelled the word correctly because my teacher thought I said something else.
  12. That's not how bonuses from equipment work. When equipment gives you a strength bonus, it raises your maximum hit, just like a higher strength levels does. When equipment gives you defense bonuses, it increases the chance that your opponent will hit a zero on you if they are using that type of attack. So a higher slash defense bonus will make enemies using slash attacks hit less often and a higher magic defense bonus will make enemies using magic attacks hit less often. When equipment gives you attack bonuses, it increases the chance that you will hit an enemy and not hit a zero. So if equipment raises your slash attack bonus, it increases the chance that you will hit with a weapon using a slash attack style. A power amulet gives you a +6 bonus in all attacks and defenses, a +6 strength bonus, and a +1 prayer bonus. An amulet of power is useful if you are fighting strong enemies when you will need the defense bonus and the attack bonus. An amulet of strength gives a +10 strength bonus. An amulet of strength is better than an amulet of power when you are fighting weak enemies that you will hit almost every time so that the amulet of power's attack bonus is not so useful and that will almost never hit you so that the amulet of power's defense bonus is not so useful, because it will raise your max hit a little bit higher than an amulet of power, which will always be useful. This holds true for ALL types of melee training. Training attack/strength/defense/controlled only determines where your experience will go.
  13. funny. ;) use knives.
  14. I used about 3k bolts in... 8 to 10 hours. So you could go with 1k. But consider tanking them if you have 70-80 defense and bones to peaches.
  15. Wilderness is the best. Ape Atoll is also harder to click on some obstacles.
  16. Guthans is not the only option! Torags, Veracs, and Dharoks are all perfectly good for slayer. Remember: you only get the set effect when you wear the whole set of armor and the weapon, which is not going to be often. You don't need to worry about the set effect because most likely you will only wear the body and legs of the barrows armor, because you should be able to get a helmet that gives strength bonus (berserker helmet, helm of neitiznot) and you should always use a better weapon (whip+rune defender, d scim+rune defender, saradomin sword). Torag, dharok, and guthan all have the same stats for the body and legs. Verac's body has lower defenses, but not by enough to make much of a difference, but gives a prayer bonus. Verac's skirt is the same as torag, dharok, and guthan legs, but it gives a prayer bonus and has slightly lower range defense. Guthans is only better than torags, dharoks, or veracs when you want to use it's healing effect. In that case, remember that you need the helm, body, legs, and spear of Guthan. as for switching to veracs, you dont need to. If you get all 80's melee veracs is good for meleeing barrows (with super set) though.
  17. Sometimes I just like to relax by mindlessly skilling and listen to music. Sometimes I like to complete challenges such as hard quests and trying to get a fire cape. Sometimes I like to train slayer and my combat level, giving me a sense of accomplishment each time I unlock another slayer monster or get an atk/str/def level.
  18. Lesser demons maybe
  19. I don't think that low defense pure would be really good, because even if you kill someone then it will be hard for you to survive to get your loot to a bank. (just speculating because there's no way to know exactly how it will work)
  20. Seriously. Always train combat with slayer, unless you are killing green dragons or aviansies to make money or something like that. You will regret your low slayer level and all that extra training you have to do later, and besides, training slayer is a whole lot more fun than camping at one monster because of the variety.
  21. You're welcome, glad I could help :).
  22. Aviansies. With your defense level I don't think you could tank, so you should use the prayer pot method. Equipment: saradomin or zamorak coif, black dragonhide body, zamorak or saradomin vambs, black dragonhide chaps, snakeskin boots, armadyl pendant, ava's accumulator, rune crossbow, broad bolts, zamorak or guthix book. Bring range pots and prayer pots. Bring a mithril grapple.
  23. the lumbridge achievement diary is f2p
  24. I agree with the person who said to farm. Also, when you go on slayer tasks, pick up herbs ranarr and above to make potions out of. Also, put your MTK 100% on herbs and 50% on fish. Doing all this will be slow, but you will make a little bit of money from the farming. The faster way is to buy herbs, seconds, and water-filled vials by the 1000's and just make tons of potions, but you will lose a lot of money and you need a lot of money in the first place to afford raw materials (there is large overhead).
  25. How could I forget about that? Eye of newts are a great moneymaker at low levels! If you get the Explorers ring (not sure which level) from the lumbridge achievement diary you could use the cabbage patch teleport to get back and forth even faster. BH is F2P. I'm not really sure how it works, but I think that when you enter you are given a bounty, a particular player that you are supposed to attack. If you kill your bounty, you can take their stuff and immediately leave. If you kill someone who is not your bounty I think that you have to wait a couple minutes before you leave, so someone else can kill you and take your stuff and the stuff you pked. (meaning it is more dangerous if you kill someone who is not your bounty).
