  1. If Jagex was that concerned about making RuneScape exactly like the real world, I think they screwed up with the dragons.
  2. I wouldn't be too quick to criticize. I hadn't considered how much easier it makes getting eyes of newt (although I should have).
  3. I like the idea in theory. The more realism the better. Although, here's a problem you may not have considered: What if you're in the wilderness, say, during the daytime, and you log out. When you come back hours or days later, you won't know what time it is (this could be solved by a game clock on the main site). You're left with a choice, either go it dangerously into the night, or log out and wait until daylight. I'd love to see a solution other than carrying a light source with you at all times. I would find that annoying.
  4. 1: Currency, food, teleports, looseleaf stuff I happen to be working with 2: Melee armor/weapons, Slayer items (Slayer Helmet) 3: Range armor/weapons, Prayer armor/items (Crystal Bow) 4: Mage armor/staffs, runes/Runecrafting (White Mystic Hat) 5: Multi-use tools/items, access items (speak amulets, keys, etc.) (Rope) 6: Herbs, seconds, pots, Farming supplies (Clean Marrentill) 7: Summoning, pets, Hunter, Fishing (Blue Charm) 8: Smithing, Construction, Crafting (Coal Ore) 9: Non-combat clothing, unused weapons (Red Mask)
  5. I'm no architect, but I don't think those columns are load-bearing. I could lose them in favor of more space.
  6. I started playing through Miniclip when I was in law school. I'd like to think that I was more mature than a typical player, although as someone who plays video games, I guess you could say I was less mature than my classmates.
  7. A lot of people complain when information isn't given ahead of time. My guess is many more than those who want to be surprised. Also, considering the popularity of fan sites, the information is going to proliferate quickly anyway. If you'd personally like to be surprised, it's not that hard to avoid reading the release messages.
  8. The jester outfit that comes as part of the Fremmenik Isles quest was renamed at some point. The Item database has not been updated as of yet. The items are known as follows: Silly jester hat, Silly jester top, Silly jester tights, Silly jester boots. Also for anybody who happens to stumble upon this thread, the jester boots give +5 Magic defense, which, as far as I can tell, is equal to Infinity Boots for tops in the game. I use the jester boots for magic attack slayer creatures.
  9. Quite a month, indeed. For the people unhappy with no hard tasks for the new achievement diary, what exactly is hard about Lumbridge? If they tried to make a whole category for hard tasks, they'd end up being lame. Kill 1000 cows. Can anybody think of anything difficult to do in the Lumbridge area? The only thing I can think of offhand is the Cave Goblin agility course.
  10. I collect almost all of my own stuff, and I'm usually not that planned about it. On the other hand, I am meticulous about efficiently using that stuff.
  11. That pretty much definitively answers the question. Thanks
  12. I've seen a lot of statements that d scimmy is better for Strength training and whip is better for Attack/Defence training. I pretty much accepted that as true, but never bothered figuring out why. Before I invest in a whip, what exactly makes one better for training certain skills than the other? Thanks. (thought I saw a post about this earlier, but couldn't find it)
  13. My d scimmy goes through walls. It's that sharp. It's kind of mind-blowing when you think about all the things they had to check with this update. As long as the glitches don't cost anybody something expensive, they can take their sweet time fixing these as far as I'm concerned. I think the Jagex staff deserve a nice vacation.
  14. I use bones to peaches and only bank if I want to unload my drop inventory.
  15. I just hit lvl. 67 Agility and the in-game guide says I can now do the high level barbarian outpost obstacles. I was not aware such a thing existed and I can't find reference to it in any guide, including the KB. Anybody know what this is about?
  16. That did cross my mind when I read that update. I think it's probably just as likely they have been focusing on all kinds of graphics stuff lately.
  17. I don't think it's going to be an earth-shattering effect, but you don't think people will pay more to look cooler if it really looks cooler?
  18. I hesitate to perpetuate this thread, but I just wanted to point out the poor business decision it would be for a video game company to advertise or otherwise encourage people to go read.
  19. I can see how it might be useful in some limited circumstances. Personally, I think it's more efficient to throw whatever you're buying/selling into the Grand Exchange and go do something else that could probably make up for the difference in money lost in the same amount of time.
  20. I'm all for using Achievement Diaries to trim the Quest Cape. Every month I check the Behind the Scenes specifically looking for a new one. It's about time for another one. Getting Smithing for Varrock 3 was the last time I trained anything for a specific goal. It's nice to have something tangible to work towards.
  21. The streak continues for as long as you don't go to the Burthorpe master.
  22. I thought this information might be useful to people. I did some research on regular fishing vs. bare-handed fishing (after barbarian training). I used 10 Ibis to time each method precisely (6 hrs. 20 mins.). For both methods, I was level 97 (100 w/ Ibis +3). I fished sharks in Burgh de Rott to lower interference from other players. With barehanded, I averaged 14,059 exp./hr. With regular, I averaged 14,464 exp./hr. Not sure if this enough information for the site, but it suggests to me that the two methods' effectiveness are statistically the same. It might be helpful to include that information in the fishing or barbarian training guides. From my observations here, bare-handed is better because of the small Strength bonus. Just thought I'd share.
  23. I believe it's mogres. (Slayer monster you need the explosives to attract.)
  24. I saw some of the whining about the required levels on the RSOF. Obviously, for people like me, it wasn't a big deal if you already had the levels. There is something to be said for being rewarded for the work you've already done. There's also something to be said for earning the ability to do a quest. I greatly enjoyed getting to 70 Smithing so I could easily stew up to complete the Varrock Diary. It was nice to have a reward for that work. I don't have a tangible thing to work towards for my current goal for all skills 70+. It makes it a little more difficult to stay motivated.
  25. My only gripe is still the same from the old forum: too many stickies, especially the outdated ones. (ex. Sorcerer's Garden guides). Other than that, it looks great!
