  1. The way I look at it, Jagex could only make an educated guess as to market value for every tradeable item in the game. It would be totally unrealistic to expect them to be correct on every single item. For the ones they got wrong just think of it this way: the Grand Exchange was released only for those items where Jagex correctly assessed market value. Where they were wrong, those item trades will be released as the GE values adjust to get them within the 5% range.
  2. As long as there is never a requirement that someone finish a certain number of "master" quests, the labelling will be arbitrary anyway, so who cares? (If there is already, I can't recall.) Also, I've heard people talk before about how Monkey Madness will never be finished because the creator left. That's just silly. If Jagex wants it finished, it will get finished. Off topic; I've been trying to get people to bring back the phrase post haste for years. Kudos to you, good sir.
  3. What if they just made it $0.99 per day? They wouldn't have to reprogram anything major and it would give people a reasonable option. Not sure it would necessarily be a good idea for people to try and cram in their $0.99 cents worth in the alloted time.
  4. Efficient markets are almost always more fair and more convenient for everyone. The Grand Exchange should make the RuneScape economy more efficient, which is a good thing overall. Although a few people might lose their advantage, it is a greater good kind of thing. Secondly, has anybody thought that the exchange might make it easier for Jagex to track movement of autoed materials? It seems it might be easier to do this way. That'd be another big improvement.
  5. Just throwing improved player graphics as the possible future "stunning" update. Could be a lot of things, though.
  6. First off, there are a lot of ways they could do the Grand Exchange. I don't see the problem with doing sell side only. Sellers bring the supply, buyers bring the demand. If someone's looking to buy 100k gold bars, those bars aren't going to conjure themselves unless somebody has them to offer, which presumably they would do at the Exchange. It's not like the forums are going to disappear for people looking to buy. Not to mention the Assist System might possibly cover people willing to collect raw materials, although that is not entirely likely.
  7. People look down on the Fletching and Cooking skillcapes, but you can't argue that they're more impressive than having 98 Fletching or 98 Cooking. I went for Fletching first because I wanted to get one skill out of the way before I started after others. Right now I'm over halfway combined for WC/FM.
  8. Well, you wouldn't if you had three things with higher priority, but Achievement Capes have always been relatively high priority. I think it said something about that when they were released.
  9. I couldn't find any mention of these searching, but two things: Lunar Staff gives a +1 Crush Defense bonus Helm of Neitiznot has the same +3 Strength Bonus as the Berserker Helm, but it as good or better in all other areas to break a tie.
  10. I think the best part of mini-games, much like other aspects of RuneScape, is that there are so many to choose from. I especially liked how they improved Temple Trekking to make it, not only bearable, but actually fun to do.
  11. I'm guessing that the hunter update has been in the works since the skill's inception. Even if this wasn't planned specifically, they may have just waited to see how the skill panned out before tailoring substantial content upgrades. I may be the only one, but I'm almost always impressed with Jagex's ability to plan ahead with its updates, considering the amount of time they take to develop. I think it will be interesting to see how long it takes them to implement the guaranteed content polls into the game.
  12. If agility were introduced to the game right now, there would be some who would complain about how pointless a skill it is. But if Jagex got rid of agility, it would be the single worst thing that ever happened to the game. In my opinion, any update that adds to the game is good (even though some may be "better' than others). The other kind of updates are those that restrict gameplay in some way (e.g. pure ess, ditch). The restricting updates are almost always introduced for a good reason, even they are annoying.
  13. I'm guessing whatever is on that island will be for training to warrant a repeat teleport so close to Varrock. I'm looking forward to seeing what it's going to be.
  14. Don't forget that you can get watermelon seeds as a reward in the Temple Trekking mini-game. It's not a ton of seeds, but it is quasi-free.
  15. Actually, all we know is that 99% of people didn't list it as their favorite skill. It could be that 99% consider it their 2nd favorite skill. Unlikely, yes, but the poll just doesn't tell us that much. Even using high scores as a proxy doesn't tell us that it's least favorite, because it does take time to train.
  16. It may take a long real time to train farming, but it certainly doesn't take a whole lot of effort. In fact, in terms of actual game time expended, farming is among the fastest skills. I'm an 'older' player, and I like farming a lot. I think you are on to something.
  17. Good point. To add, it's not like the achievement diaries are that hard to program. They could probably start from scratch and still come out with a new one on a weekly basis. (Not that I think they will.)
  18. Care to explain that one? Is there a prayer altar inside Paterdomus? There's a Level 65 shortcut over the fence to the Temple on the Salve. There is an altar inside.
  19. I see what people are saying about the tricky wording. And it is definitely contradictory to what's in the knowledge base. Draco might shoot another message to the mod so there is absolutely no doubt.
  20. I was lucky enough to pick one up off the ground that someone had dropped. Oops for him/her.
  21. ...or Jagex could just be messing.
  22. I don't know why people expect every addition to the game to be life altering. It's okay to have a small update (especially when it is combined with others, like this one was). I'm sure I would use the spell from time to time when I'm on Lunar.
  23. I'll go on the record saying it's going to be a mini-game. But I would be happy if I was wrong. Adding a new skill could only be good. If it were archeology, I would hope that it would include some Indiana Jones elements. Just digging around in the sand would be too much like hunter, and I doubt they'd do that. Jagex will find ways to interconnect skills (e.g. chinchompas=range). Archeology could use agility, combat, mining, crafting, and maybe a slew of others (think opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark). Like I said, I don't think that it's going to happen, but it could be good if and when it did.
  24. Almost every quest has multiple level requirements, including some combat stats. This new quest is a kind of like requiring 66 attack, strength, defense, hitpoints, and prayer. Except, in this case, you don't have to have exactly those stats - it's more flexible. Another way to look at it, I suppose.
  25. I don't see what the big deal is. As others have already said, there are skill minimums for the Quest Cape taken from a variety of quests. The combat requirement here is no different. All Jagex is saying is that you have to have at least a certain combination of skills in order to wear a supposedly prestigious item. I don't see anything wrong with that. I understand that combat is different from other skills, but would anybody lament a quest that required, say, 65 Agility? I think players would generally moan and groan about having to train to 65. But wouldn't that make the cape that much more impressive? I think so and think the same about the combat requirement. In case anyone was wondering, here is the complete list of quest requirements for Dream Mentor, taken from it and it's required quests (not adjusting for pots/spicy stew, etc.): Combat 85 Defence 40 Magic 65 Crafting 61 Firemaking 49 Herblore 5 Mining 60 Woodcutting 55 Fletching 25 Agility 32
