  1. Reverse alching. Still, I say no.
  2. For some reason, this thread has me 100 times more excited for summoning than any previous thread. Frankly, I think that's a little odd, but I'm gonna roll with it.
  3. I'm willing to bet the 3k limit that it's an animal.
  4. That would be pretty cool, if you ask me. I would appreciate it, as the Achievement Diaries are the only time I felt compelled to train anything in the last year. I would think they'd need one or two more Diaries before adding a cape. If not, perhaps a trimmed quest cape? That might be considered doubled. Come to think of it, they could also be factored somehow into the trade limit.
  5. I'm not really up on animal husbandry, but I'm pretty sure cows don't come from eggs.
  6. Grand Exchange, definitely for me. I hated trying to sell extra junk. Now it's all out of my trunk.
  7. Nope... The reason they're rare is that new ones can't be obtained, not because only a few people got them. Like I pick a stone from the ground and I'm the only one who has one, does that make it rare? No, because anyone else can just pick one up. Yes, but if a gagillion people pick up a stone, and there are no stones anymore, that isn't rare either. It's a combination of the two, but I think in this case, the lack of players at the time is the bigger factor. Regardless, none of those people should live in glass houses.
  8. Guthix is a fickle mistress, my friend.
  9. I think I can see my house from here. *points to globe map*
  10. My connection didn't seem too smooth when I was doing the event, so hopefully it's just a coincidence or something they noticed and work out. Then again, I was doing it the same time as just about everybody else. Then again again, the same overuse will probably happen when summoning is released.
  11. I've always thought Guthix only gave lip-service to the whole "balance" thing. Next time I'm not voting for him.
  12. Well that does answer some of my question, so thanks for that. There are still some things I don't understand, though. For instance, it doesn't explain why fruit trees are timed at 14.6 hours, according to the guide, but my ammy tells me it's done after 11 hours. It took me a couple of days of growing and thinking I wasn't keeping time correctly, but I've been meticulous for the last week or so, and it's happened a few times. Regardless, I'm going to keep a full log from here out to see if I can't get some good data upon which to test possible explanations.
  13. I've got Kandarin, and I quite like it
  14. I've been leveling farming lately with my seeds from Miscellania. I've got a nature ammy to tell me when the plots are done. I've been noticing something I think it odd. I have been planting pineapple trees in the same order. I always plant in Catherby before Gnome Stronghold. Only, the Gnome Stronghold frequently finishes growing before Catherby. (In the current case, Gnome Stronghold finished in 11 hours, while Catherby is still growing after 28.) I've also documented this for apple trees as well. The only thing I can think of, is the periods for these plots are not in sync, and I miss the rollover for Catherby and have to wait what amounts to an extra period beyond what I catch in the Gnome Stronghold. Does this seem reasonable? Have others noticed the same thing?
  15. Because then RWTers buy expensive weapons/armour, bring them to the wilderness, and lose them for real-world cash. Then the "buyer" goes and does whatever he/she wants with the 20M item.
  16. I think it's inaccurate to say they aren't willing to listen to alternative ideas. I do, however, think they've made it clear that they are not going to consider rolling back to the way it was. I'm sure, if your idea is effective at eliminating RWT and possible to be implemented, it will get consideration. I think the attempt to recreate the wilderness (arguably failed) and the call for constructive solutions is evidence of that.
  17. From reading the update, I got the impression that it won't increase. That's just my gut. My hope is that, after seeing how effective they've been at reducing RWT, they will increase the trade allowance. Topical Question: Is there a cap on the time spent in Tears of Guthix mini-game? Similar concept.
  18. I won't go into detail, and I won't tell you how i came upon this privileged information, but it's going to be harder to RWT regardless of the form it takes. All I can tell is you that, Jagex used to have to throw out a big net with a lot of holes in it. Now there are a lot less holes to sneak through if you want to real-world trade. With certain methods gone, they can focus on catching the people who try others. It should be significantly more risky (and not worth it) to try and break the rules.
  19. I think the only sensible way to do the lending feature would be if the taking player cannot alter or consuming the item in any way. (e.g. It wouldn't make sense to lend someone a magic tree seed and have them plant it.) Keep in mind, for things like pots, which can be consumed, almost all items would fall within the 3k-30k trading restrictions. Expensive items (mostly combat) can only be used without alteration. For those that may (crystal items, barrows, etc.), I think it would be acceptable, in fact necessary, for the deterioration to take place. (i.e. as if that item were being used by the true owner.) The one exception would probably have to be that the item is lost upon the taker's death. As it stood before the RWT crackdown, a lender was at the taker's mercy as to how the lent item would be used. It should be no different after the change. Now there is no worry about items being real-world laundered.
  20. I think this could've been added to the gagillion other threads that say the same thing. I get it. You don't like the changes.
  21. I don't quite remember. It didn't go into detail. I think it was something like the player giving out their password, them getting the gold(with a bot program), and trading for the item. So you're telling me you went to a website that had information important enough to post, and then you don't remember what the information was. Am I wrong to doubt you? In any case, that method has been talked about and from a business standpoint wouldn't be particularly profitable for the farmers.
  22. The unnoting is to replace the system that's been used (i.e. sell noted items and repurchase in regular form for a loss). Paying an NPC to do that is the same thing, provided the cost is comparable. No need to add the money back into the economy.
  23. Like a lot of people who've posted, I frequently switched to a quiet world to do any wilderness trips (mostly treasure trails). But to be honest, I always felt like I was taking the easy way out. I'm sure I will get killed more frequently now, but the wilderness was supposed to be a challenge. At least now there's no way of skirting around it.
  24. It's too easy to convert those items into gp, so I'm not sure this particular solution would be effective. Also, remember people need other items for treasure trails, training skills, etc. Good to see you thinking critically about the problem.
  25. I don't even think it requires thinking outside the box. It's plenty big enough to maneuver already. The "rules" in the real-world change all the time. Smart business people still find ways to succeed. Same applies here.
