  1. Slayer was released reletively out of the blue. And Runecrafting was made with the creation of Runescape 2, since magic would become much more independant from all other forms of combat.
  2. How about the addition of a quest, like with Herblore, but with one change. Make the addition of the skill completely unannounced. The skill won't be seen on the Stats page until you complete the quest. For example, if "Hunting" were to be the new skill (which I doubt it will be, way too similar to Slayer), you'd do a quest where you had to hunt a bunch of different monsters. At the end, you get the message from the quest NPC "I think you're ready for me to teach you the skill of Hunting!" You get the Quest Finish message, and then are told to look at your Stat screen. Out of the blue, the new skill is there.
  3. I posted about that on page 2. In the 24th letter from the Gods, entitled "Guthix Ponders,"
  4. Of course, a trick I know of is to have a friend weaken the spirit first, then you take the finishing kill. I know I did that with a friend before. I brought a bunch of Bind Spells with me so that he had time to get himself hidden behind the mushrooms, and I fletched him some good bow and arrows before he started then. Or better yet... take a couple of ice spells...
  5. 5 minutes tops probably... That's about enough to make 3 or 4 runs at most.
  6. There's an interesting contradiction... In the 24th God Letter, "Guthix Ponders," Guthix responeded to the question "How much of a chance does wearing a dragon ring increase?" Perhaps Jagex has started to deny the word of Guthix...
  7. I noticed that once too... Don't know what it's about, but I bet what they do is they PM you while their Friends Chat is off. There might be a bug in it then that doesn't turn it to friends so that you'll see them.
  8. Good, I know I'm not crazy then...
  9. If I counted right, this picture has the guy holding 50 Bil... If that's the case, then how the devil is there a 2.1Bil cap today? I understand all the updates would cause problems with Memory and stuff, but when the cap occured, don't you think they were screwing this guy since they took away almost 48 Bil? EDIT: 50,922,600,998. Yep, that's 50 Billion alright...
  10. Agreed... It doesn't work at the moment...
  11. Jagex isn't that big on the advertising business. Most of the people who play this game either found it by accident when searching for other games, or were told about it by friends. Jagex isn't gonna put money towards things they don't have to (like advertising). The only thing they put money towards at this point are paychecks and Server maitenance costs. Everything else is pure profit.
  12. Most games like this have time limits between actions, or "charge" times where X times passes before the action occurs. With how Runescape functions, this really wouldn't work well, especially since most of the games I'm refering to are Single Player games where the healers are computers.
  13. Tried that before. Aparantly Saradomin watches over that portal.
  14. The seed is charged at the Crystal Bowl located opposite of Oaknock's machine, on the platform. After making the machine operational, a crystal bridge will be revealed, which you can then cross. Right click on the bowl and select the "Sing" option and the uncharged Crystal saw seed willa utomatically become a crystal saw.
  15. The most profitable method is 100% Mahogany and 50% Flax. The first number is a popular street price, followed by the price listed on the Kingdom Managing guide on Tip.It. These numbers are profit per item, and I'll throw an example in for 75k spent so a full number can be gotten. Coal 200ea - 91.6ea = 109.4 profit 75,000 / 91.6 = 818 * 109.4 = 89,489 total Flax 100ea - 40ea = 60 profit 75000 / 40 = 1875 * 60 = 112.5k total Strings* 150ea - 40ea = 110 profit 75000 / 40 = 1875 * 110 = 206,250 total Herbs 1000ea - 826.4ea = 174.6 profit MINIMUM 75000 / 826.4 = 90 * 174.6 = 15,714 MINIMUM Swordfish 300ea - 189.4ea = 111.6 profit 75000 / 189.4 = 395 * 111.6 = 44,082 total Maple 100ea - 56.1ea = 44.9 profit 75000 / 56.1 = 1336 * 44.9 = 59,986 total Teak 500ea - 166.1ea = 333.9 profit 75000 / 166.1 = 451 * 333.9 = 150,588 total Mahogany 1000ea - 224.6ea = 775.4 profit 75000 / 224.6 = 333 * 775.4 = 258,208 total *That number is for if you spin the Flax after receiving it. By my calculations, doing 100% Mahogany and possibly 50% flax would be the best combination for pure profit. I didn't bother calculation Teak and Mahogany all as one because of how random it would be as to how much you get (from what I know). Now assuming you did that (100% Mahogany, 50% Flax), that would total 258,208 + 56,250 which equals around 314.5k in one day. Save that up a couple of days and you have yourself a nice profit for little or no work. 1 Day = 314.5k 2 Days = 629k 3 = 943.5 4 = 1258k Massive potential for 100% Mahogany, 50% Flax[/b]
  16. Yeah, these types of companies really only work when the item in question requires a high skill level to make that many people don't have (Laws lv54). Since Bow Strings are lv10, not many people will sign up as runners because they can already make their own bowstrings. Perhaps you should start a Nature Rune Running company based off of the Law Rune Running company, that works exactly like it does: Bring 25 essence, receive 25 noted essence + 25 nats. (begins scheming wildly...)
  17. That's Picarous. And yeah, those do seem like good spots for normal logs and Iron ore. I personally use the Falador Dwarven Mines and the Seer's Village forest for Iron and Normal logs, respectively. Although I don't chop normal logs very much anymore. I'm either chopping Yews at Seer's Village monestary or Magics outside of Lletya.
  18. I just pick up the weapons that people don't pick up and sell them to the weapons store by the Catapult. An inventory full of weapons above Iron adds up to about 7k in cash per trip (Usually about 50% Steel, 30% Mithril and 10% Adamant and Iron). That, and since I got all of my tokens from killing my extra set of Rune armor with a Dragon Halberd, I got plenty of Warrior Guild tokens to work with to get me up to a Rune Defender (only have black right now) and all the weapons I pick up should be helpful as well. And as a bonus, one day when I was training against my armor, someone aparantly forgot to pick up their Rune Full Helm, so now I have 2 of those (would be 3 but I use a Warrior Helm for armor rather than the Rune Full Helm). I'll either sell all that armor or I may end up taking a Nature Rune to them if I get really bored... Now if it weren't for the fact that I'm out at my fathers for the weekend with kids he adopted from Poland, I'd be on Runescape right now working on that, but since I'm currently using the internet without my parents knowledge on a laptop I brought, and I'm using the Wireless Connection that someone left unprotected in one of the surrounding homes, I won't do that cause I don't trust that the connection will last... That and playing Runescape on a touch pad is kinda difficult unless you're just doing Alchemy. Then it's really easy.
  19. While I agree that most things in Runescape need skill, Time is a bigger factor. I'll even take that a step further and say that patience is needed... As someone said before, he could craft 1m nats but only needs the time. More or less, he needs the patience so that after he's crafting 100 nats, he doesn't go "this is taking to long" and quits. I swear, I need this quality, and I'm doing my best to work on it. I'm trying right now to make 4.2k Magic Longbows and nats to alchemy them with, all from scratch. That means picking my own flax, chopping my own logs, mining my own pure essence and crafting my own nats.
  20. Let me make a suggestion to this that could solve the whole thing... According to you guys, increasing the cap would pratically double the memory the game would need to run... Well, what if you only had a set of digits with a max of 5 digits to work like this... Money is sorted into gp, K and M. I say put a seperate variable that is much smaller than the current one for each of the 3 things. So for example... 960gp var 1 = 960 var2 = 0 var3 = 0 46,835gp var 1 = 835 var2 = 46 var3 = 0 140,283gp var1 = 283 var2 = 140 var3 = 0 1,392,583gp var1 = 583 var2 = 392 var3 = 1 2,100,000,000gp var1 = 0 var2 = 0 var3 = 2100 Compare the space needed for 3 - 4 digit variables to 1 - 10 digit variable. If I have it correctly, that should be a lot less... A 10 bit variable could handle a value of 1,024. So 3 of these should take up a lot less space than a 31 bit variable (As you guys are saying it is). Just make a variable for any gp you have under 1-thousand, a variable for any gp between 1-thousand and 1-million, and a variable for anything above 1-million. Even making a variable for things above 1-billion would probably work if needed.
  21. Actually, it was 17 words but who's counting :D 17 words, 16 not counting the number, and a grand total of 20 sylables...
  22. Who you gonna one hit? A rat? With 99 attack and 1 strength, you'd hit constand 2s, max. Actually, with strength at 1, you'd need a strength bonus of about 200+ to be able to even hit 2... Although the constant 1s would be interesting to see... Sitting in a f2p world, walk up to someone in the wilderness and keep tickling them with 1s, hoping they don't turn around and attack you.
  23. Most of us didn't know this though... *raises hand embarrassingly*
  24. I know there was an old bug that was most noticable when using the Brimhaven Agility Arena (turn in 1000 tickets, gained 3 levels) where the Level Advance window would display "Congradulations, your *Skill* Level is now *##*" where in all 3 windows, it would show the same number. I guess that's Jagex's fix.
  25. Level 100 - Server Crash Protect Effect: In the event of a server crash, your character will automatically be logged off, with your character's skills being rolled back slightly as a result of lost data... *Logs on to find all stats at lv1* That's a bug... (no pun intended [Kalphite Queen])
