  1. It is completely AFKable just check the RS screen every two mins to run to the bank to deposit the load. There are plenty of safe spots Mining is now a easy AND profitable 99 thanks to living rock update. Yes if you know your way around the cave, there are plenty of safe spot to mine there. I wouldn't say it is easy, the hard part is getting to 77. Once you get that level, mining becomes way easier in that dongeon and it becomes way more profitable too. The only nonsense I see in canadiansmurf post is saying 99 mining is easy. Easier , yes, easy : a matter of opinion. I, for one, am glad that mining is now easier on the wrist and on the xp per hour as prior to this update I had planned on keeping my lvl at 85 forever. Mining doesn't suck for me since that update.
  2. In my top 100 dumbest rant of all-time, this one is near the top. There's no supporting facts, the text has minimal correlation to the title, the arguments are so thin, you'd think this was written by some uneducated teenager...oh wait... There's ample proofs that Jagex do listen to ALL the players. What some kids can't understand is that they can't please ALL the players ALL the time. Welcome to the world where you don't ALWAYS get what you want. Grow up, learn and come back when you purchase a proper brain.
  3. @ JoeDaStudd How do you open testing to players in the first place? Randomly select players to get into a private world to test things that will be released shortly without informing anyone else of that update? You either get: lots of players with knowledge of future content that will buy things in expectation of market changes giving them a huge advantage or the whole community knowing in advance the contents that will be released resulting in the lack of surprise and the community knowing what to expect without experiencing it for a couple days/weeks.
  4. So extreme attack at base level 1 = ? Test it yourself, you might stop writing half truths. No, they all have minimum levels, but when the minimum level doesn't apply, that percentage (%) does. eg: Range is =< 4 where as I think Strength/Attack/Defence is =< 5 and I believe Prayer is 6 or 7, not sure. Indeed, this is why the % you gave, as pretty good they are on the higher levels, are useless for the Tip.it calculator.
  5. The economy used to be based around skills. Meaning the GPs would come from skills (mining --> smithing --> alchemy or WC --> fletching --> alchemy or dragon hides --> crafting --> alchemy or monster drops and to a lesser extent, thieving). Getting wealth through skills was worth it because it gave a balanced amount of GPs and XP. Lately, with PVP drops, a new way to introduce GP into the game has been added and it is better than skilling resulting in less people skilling for cash (hence supply lowers) and players having more cash to spend on buyable skills and equipment (demand rising). Sure you can call it inflation, but it is also the result of demand and supply. Once Jagex fix PVP tricking to a point where skilling becomes a better option to making cash and getting XP, expect supply to raise and demand to lower, resulting in all items not bound by limits (GE limits, alchemy limits) to drop. Edit : GDA actually wrote something in the same lines as me.

  7. This rant is yet another proof that you don't need an IQ test to have access to the internet. We should just create a sticky for all the rants made by children.
  8. Someone needs to read more than just the titles of topic... On-topic: If you value charms, I suggest you go for abby demons rather than mages. If you are looking for consistent cash only, go for spirit mages.
  9. And yet you provide no valid reasons to back up your claim. Jagex could give an exorbitant amount of content in their F2P game, but at the cost of getting more members. I'm pretty sure that's not what they are aiming for.
  10. About the same as cabbage port to draynor of fally. The only difference is ardougne uses 2 laws.
  11. This will be useful on my farming runs.
  12. Aside from quest requirements and items obtained through those quests, the only use of firemeking is obtained at 92 FM with inferno adze for the best woodcutting item in the game (which has somewhat been rendered useless with the introduction of ivy). The skill on its own is mostly useless.
  13. This rant is a waste of forums space. The OP must be under the influence...
  14. Are you aware that when Runescape was first released there was no P2P? I have never heard of a demo containing years and years worth of potential playability. Yes I'm aware of that fact. The internet business has changed a lot since then. The game wouldn't have grown this far without P2P. The potential playability is what makes the F2P game that much unique, though I still maintain that its purpose is about the same as a demo, even though it is way much more than a standard trial game or demo.
  15. Yes agreed on both parts. They need to maintain F2P updated to keep a player base and so the free game remains attractive to new players. So far, it worked pretty well.
  16. What a corporation says is not always what it thinks. That is an unwritten rule of business. They have to tell their customers what they want to hear. In reality, F2P acts like a giant demo, or at least a very exhaustive trial game. Granted een calling it a demo is not the proper way to describe it because of the lenght you can go playing this game without paying. If F2P is not intended to "lure" people to P2P, then what is it intended for? Making a game to please people? As friendly as Jagex are, one of their objective is to make money, that is how all corporations work. Of course their goal is to get the most players possible to subscribe. I have no idea why they removed gnomecopters, it was a great way to show non-members some stuff they could already see extensively on youtube.
  17. Good luck. Phoenix feathers aren't tradable so they won't be used extensively for training herblore. Are any of these new potions going to be made extensively for herblore training? Aside from hardcore slayers, campers and charm hunters, I don't see them being used enough for someone to powertrain with them seeing as any potion unused is considered a loss...
  18. It's always nice to have a top player share information as useful as this! Great find JOfTheCross!
  19. What reasons do I have to do that? Undeserved banning or deserved?
  20. Buy all the available Rares, then alch them all! Put an end to the discontinued non-sense.
  21. I was at 525M last month, probably around 600M these days.
  22. I think it would not be in Jagex' best financial interests to keep F2Pers interested too much in the free game. It has nothing to do with the difficulty of getting a 99 over the P2P way, it's purely a financial question. An incentive is not the same thing as pressure to subscribe, you seem to mix those together. I'm gonna speculate here and tell you how I think Jagex sees F2P. - It's a game they offer for free to attract people into subscribing to the full game thus gaining them more money to invest in whatever projects they have. The more they offer for free (especially at higher levels) the more F2Pers will have an incentive to remain F2P and to reach their personnal goals. As for rewards to maxed out F2Pers, they invited the top 5 to visit their facility recently, talk about reward!
  23. Very nice and only 6 lvls away from 2300 total, the last step before maxing out! very impressive!
  24. 1) You have a point, but don't forget that Jagex can control the pvp economy prices, thereby making skilling way more profitable than it is now. This also adds a new aspect of hunting the skillers ... 2) We aren't discussing if the implementation is realistic or not; I just want to explore what is necessary to make full drops possible. 3) I'm going to have burst your bubble there, because there's an easy way to still RWT there: Macro/Gold Farming accounts just become pures and on low hours they meet up in those worlds. If they get their target, they die intentionally and lose their superior equipment; if not, they fight normally and have an equally good chance to win (greater even, because they could switch to players who are better at pking). Also, if you can't just make a single word for Full Drop Dueling: too many people would want in. Also, if you can use protect item it's even easier: RWTers bring a single good item (AGS, Spirit shield, DFS, ...) and die intentionally with protect item until they get teamed with target where they don't use the pray. As long as they don't have food, they can't lose their item (if they did, others could use smite). 1) What would be the incentive for a skiller to go to a PVP with full drops if any money earned there is gonna get erased anyway? Skilling is either about getting money or getting XP, unless you make these worlds with permanent XP boost, you will only have pkers fighting pkers. 2) Okay, what is necessary is to have PVP worlds where gold isn't allowed and loot can be traded in for honour points. Honour points are accumulated throughout the month and an highscore is established for every month. the pkers at the top are those that got the most "friends" to die for them. This would be a great money sinkand rebalance the economy. 3) I said there would only be one world and you could get assigned a random opponent. If there are too many people, then great less chance of getting your target. Protect item would be useless because you would lose everything on you no matter what. BTW, points 2 and 3 are about 2 different implementations and not to be analyse as a whole.
  25. I've thought of this as well. Let's see.... It costs tons of gold and time, much more than simply buying better fish off GE or playing pest control for two days, for which you have no advantage from 1-82, after which you suddenly get an extra 21 stats which is about 8 combat levels' worth and 25% special energy with no change to combat level, making the skill somewhat a combat skill but not really, contradicts with the summoning system, makes magic too dependant on herblore to have an edge..... Yeah, that's about it. To be honest I think Summoning shouldn't give combat levels, then at least herblore wouldn't have this problem as well, and the era of combat advantages unlocked with skill level but aren't part of the combat level calculation can begin smoothly. I agree that this is a big brain teaser! Please don't mention the possibility of removing lvls from summoning (only because of those annoying wild dogs in the karamja dongeon!). I could also argue that getting from 69 cooking to 70 gives you the possibility of getting a + 3 bonus to all offensive stats and defensive stats except magic from the recipe for disaster gloves. Anyway I think we both argued to the limits of both sides and we can only agree to disagree from now on. Nice debate to be honest, I usually end up debating with people who won't even consider the opinion of others and debates end up with both sides insulting each other...
