March 20, 200719 yr I use another 3rd party client that isnt endorced by jagex due to its connections with cheatsites.....But the client itself is really basic and breaks no rules Rather not say the name NO 3rd party clients are endorsed by Jagex. OT: World select looks pretty good, I'll reserve judgement until I've used it though!

Nope, they have never endorsed any 3rd party and continue to recommend that they are not used. What they did do was issue a set of guidelines that 3rd party clients *must* comply with in order that users of the clients were not breaking Jagex rules. Most of the more popular 3rd party clients have worked to try and ensure that their software is within these new guidelines. Anyone using a client not complying with the rules, runs the risk of having their account banned/blackmarked etc.

In terms of world swapping Jagex>SS. If only they used the power of their official client though, maybe like SS put it on the side allowing for easier use, although i'm not complaining it'd make it so much better.
March 20, 200719 yr I haven't used SS ever since it blackscreened me and told me a message "Swiftswitch has detected an error please restart it" or something as I was dking in full gear. (died and lost a few mill..) Good update I must say. 6221st to 85 Slayer. ( Yippee)

Andrew's goal (stated in the forums) is to make the RS official client not only just as usable as Swift, but even moreso. Now they need to get rid of the world switch log in time. Correct me if I'm wrong. But they can't take that delay away anymore. Because servers are so spread out and they really are transfering your character stats. Imagine all the people hopping worlds so often. A thought that your characters stats are stored on a server of their own (There's 8 I believe) and they get the information from the server and send it back whenever it "saves" That's why when the Login server goes down only some accounts are effected (And I believe they said there were 8 servers) So they don't transfer your character when you switch world, just when you log in. The reason for the 30 second delay was because people would switch really fast at updates and such and buy out all the runes from it.

How come SS has been the world-switcher program since Runescape Classic, so I'm sure SS has beaten Jagex a lot more. i used it for switching only... my printscreenbutton owns the jepeg ss button.. and all calculators work better on tip.it :wink: and i didnt use the chat cuz most are annoing and spamming there :roll: Zybez > SS > Tip.it. HI. Why are you here? I'm loving this update, even moreso because for once the community as a whole is happy, and jagex is for the first time in awhile directly addressing what players want.
March 20, 200719 yr IMO, html is still better for world-switching... You only have to upgrade the URLs about once an year, you can get into full worlds, and you can make keyboard shortcuts to open a certain world... (ctrl-alt-s used to open world 1 on my computer, but I haven't played RS for a long time and the URL changed...) Losers...Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious.

March 20, 200719 yr :P ss owned :)not until they build a chat system into it i hate to say it but whatever jagex makes for a chat system isnt going to stack up to an IRC server/channel unless it allows for 1k + people to use it at a time and is password protected or something like that. + SS's irc chat features like its auto check prices of items is awesome, because im like i dont want to go check this out for price. also world updaters for PC and who knows what else? takes SS down a notch tho. lol correct me if im wrong but cant u chat on RS? and it allows for 2k ppl and is password protected. True its not all one big chat but that would be a mess. Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.Sounds like Jagex to me...

March 20, 200719 yr Seriously why does everyone seem to care about SS "falling"? If you don't use it, why does it matter to you. It's plain childish. You people are acting like SS was stealing passwords and a bad 3rd party client, though in fact, it was probably the best. Strider puts a lot of work into it, and I would hate to see it become totally obsolete. I would love to still use it, but at least it helped Jagex realize what is was missing... though players have said it oh so many times.
