Anyone else think most of these stories are made up for the sake of impressing people over the internet?

I don't know why they would, most of the stories here are about hacking. If people knew you were a hacker at my school you'd get [cabbage] for the rest of your school life :?

Well in my school, youtube.com is blocked, but youtube.co.uk isn't -.- so I got caught for "hacking".

Also all the Windows folders are removed from sight on weakly protected school Windows systems... Yet you can go run->%systemroot%-> view, run or tweak them.

we have access to command prompt, and run (probably so we can type in shutdown -a whenever we open those annoying batch files :lol: )

Our filter is relatively easy.They only filter certain words,not compounds of those words,and not sites.

Learn C++, then we can talk. Script kiddies aren't hackers, they're human failboats, destined to sink.

 

 

 

To make the librarian see screenshots, you need to reverse-engineer the software they use to monitor you, or get access to their computer and install the server-side end of a trojan you made (and considering most don't have admin access and can't install programs, you're pretty much screwed).

 

 

 

The windows kernel was written in C, and the fun stuff like IE (like programs or parts of the GUI) were written in C++. Knowing assembly language wouldn't hurt you either, but it's not really a necessary step. So if you're planning on doing just basic changes, learn C++. If you want to make a kernel-level rootkit that masks itself, focus mainly on C. If you want to get around filters, HTML and Javascript will be your friends.

 

 

 

These people aren't hackers, they either pull off dos pranks, like where your computer shuts down after 60 seconds (lame) or script kiddies (Look, I put a trojan that someone else made on the principals computer!). If you didn't make it yourself using a real language and exploiting holes in the OS or a program (like Novell, so easy to hack that), then you didn't hack.

1)-A Trojan as in the virus type that takes control of a computer.

 

2)-Small,large,extra large.They have yet to make a condom that can take my wondrous size.

I didn't really do much in high school, but I witnessed these: My junior year one of the seniors took a fire extinguisher and sprayed it in someones face, and last year someone hit a breaker box in the hall just right, so it would open and started messing with the switches. A teacher across the hall was apparently doing some important work and came into the hall to freak out. They got the superintendent to come herd everyone who was in that area down to the end of the hall to try to figure out who did it, but of course nobody told.

Even if I know C++, I wouldn't go further than "Dos pranks". I also sometimes do shortcuts pranks. Never been caught though.

Depends where. At our college, for example, to have the internet connection you have to be on Windows, on your account on your laptop and only there. The college server will block you if you try to go on the internet, even wired, with any linux distro.
