Ness is not useless. He can be very fun to use when you want to annoy the heck out of people. And shiek will most likely not be in brawl. If you notice, they base the characters off the most recent game they were in. In twilight princess Zelda did not turn into shiek. It also said on the brawl site that Zelda would rely more on her magic this time around.

While we're talking about previous characters and how they might not be in brawl, does anyone know whether or not the ice climbers are still in? They were really fun to play as.

Nobody's confirmed for the game 'til it's on the Dojo or in a trailer, so it's unkown for the msot part who's goin' to come back.

 

 

 

Ness is the most uncertain. Though he's one of the original 12, he was originally gonna be replaced by Lucas of Mother 3, but due to time constraints, they kept him in. Nintendo also wants to import mother 3 here, and Lucas would be an amazing way to hype it up. We'll have to wait and see.
