I dont know if anyone has been checking the fishing hiscores lately, but I with 68 fishing, and not training it in over a year, just jumped from around a 550k rank to a 300kish rank.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

That would mean nearly 200 thousand people/autoers were banned, without a major announcement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The last major announement dealing with bannings were for real world trading i belive, and it wasnt anywhere near two hundred thousand people.

I just noticed because I was in a world and got 2 lvls, and i knew i was around 30 minutes of work to get 2 more and checked my fishing level on an irc with runescript, then i noticed my rank >.>

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I used to keep track of my ranks with fishing and wc, because at one point i was at a 500k rank on both (within 1k either way, but it was close enough)

Well, if you remember a few months back when sharks hit around 450 each, that was due to massive ammounts of autoers fishing sharks. Now one of the most used foods in the game, or in p2p at least, gets its price cut in half, people getting gobs of cooking experience for half the gp needed usually, im sure jagex took notice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then again, i may be wrong. But i wouldn't put it past jagex to ban autoers when the prices get out of wack. If yews were to drop to 100 ea, im sure the same would happen with woodcutting autoers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The only reason why i could see they wouldnt ban the wc or other skill autoers along with the fishing ones is because the fishing ones were making the most impact on the community, and with all the time and effort needed to seed out the autoers from the people who dont talk, they wouldnt want to mass ban all the autoers because it would take too much time.

Well if you were banned at all, you wouldnt show up on the highscores, regardless of rank.

Less autoers in populated areas of f2p at present. They are still at the yews miles from banks though.

About 2 weeks ago there were like 10 threads on the rsof selling oak planks at 400each, and could barely get a buyer. Now there is maybe one thread an hour, and are selling at 450each.. Banned bots?

With all the crap Jagex is getting about dealing with bots, if they managed to

 

 

 

successfully ban 200,000 autoers, they'd want to brag about it. Maybe they will

 

 

 

announce it sometime soon ...

to be honest in a business way, and if i were jagex, i wouldn't report on EVERY single banning, just give a clear image that it is going on. i mean, who would play a game with the first page:

It has to be a highscores glitch.. I highly doubt that Jagex caught 200k autoers and didn't say boo.

On the P mod forums, Jagex has said that they ban 15000 - 20000 macros a week. So, if you don't check the highscrores for a month....you might move up 100k spots :D

They've got my props. 20000 a week, that's 12000 more than at the starts of their crackdown -- maybe the bot detection system is working much better?
