I haven't seen this anywhere, so I thought I would post on this. Today there was a blurb in the news about Disney purchasing Club Penguin. Although the demographics are different, Club Penguin is an MMORPG and might signify a trend. What do you think would be the consequences of a Runescape buyout by a company like Disney?

 

 

 

Would it make a difference, or would we be treated to the spectacle of Mickey, Goofy, et al. becoming NPCs within Runescape?

 

 

 

Personally, I find the thought of that prospect rather horrifying and hope such a thing never comes to pass. The idea of having Mickey whisk me off to some sort of room where I have to confront the shade of Scrooge McDuck to gain my freedom and some puny little reward just doesn't appeal.

This will never happen. Even if Disney were to buy Runescape for some reason, no Disney characters will ever appear into Runescape.

I would run and cower in fear, just like the afraid emote in RS, except I would be doing that IRL :o

Wow I just tried that game, It's a disgrace...

to be honest runescape has enough immature children already =/ I would probably quit.. Besides.. I don't think jagex would ever sell their game.

it would only be cool if a company like sony bought it :D

WE would go hunting King Black Scrooges, Queen Mermaids and Tz-Tok Ducks. It couldn't be too bad.

TBH, if Disney bought Runescape, I don't think anything would change. I think they'd realize that Jagex was doing something right if a game with graphics this bad was pulling in over $5 million a month.
