How did you make money as a newb?

Featured Replies

I used to mine Rune Essence before the big update. 30gp each, sometimes even more!

What big update? :o Send me a msg with explanation please?

The big update hes referring to is when Jagex made 2 essences,

Pure essence for p2p and 35 mining or something that can make all types of runes

and

Rune ess for f2p and can only make the basic runes.

Well I used to go to the stone circle by varrock and this newbie I have no idea how! had so much stuff and died so Guess how much money he had

651k he had full mith I have no idea so that is how I tried to make money

In the early beginning I mined and smelted. Selling the results in the shop. When I got an addy pickaxe I mined ess till I could afford a rune one. Then switched to coal. :)

I used to mine tin and copper at the Varrock south-east mine, smelt it into bronze bars in the Lumbridge furnace, smith into basic bronze weaponry at the Varrock anvils, sell at the Varrock sword shop, repeat.

I then realized that if I mined and banked, then smelted and smithed, instead of doing the whole routine at once, I could have gone faster.

Mneh, to relive the good ol' days... <3:

I did the exact same thing :x I didn't learn to mine then bank until I went and started killing things for money instead of mining, smithing, and selling because I find that I make money faster that way.. thats how its been since

Lots and lots of mining, smithing, and selling the results to the general store.

I cut willows, sold the logs. Mined alot of iron, smelt and smithed it and did any misc. tasks my friends would pay me for.

Before RC was out I mostly smithed and sold whatever I made to the general store, I was up to most of the steel items when I found out about essence mining. So I did that for a while, and then decided to merchant them, I thought I was very clever :). Untill I got scammed, lost 2K ess which was all I had merchanted together, haven't merchanted since and am not planning on doing so ^^.

I know what I know and what I know might well not be what you want to know but then seeing as only I know what I know and you do not know what I know then you will not know if what I know is what you would like to know

i cant belive i remember this but what i did was i would buy all the parts for full black (no kite) from the stores it would cost like 7k to buy large pl8 and legs then i would go to vorrok and sell :) then afterthat i think i moved up to makeing and selling certs

When I was a new player to Runescape, I mostly killed rats and goblins like so many others. And I did lots of quests too. Once I found 500gp on the ground and I thought I was extremly rich so I went and bought fishing bait and goblin armour which I thought I could wear. <.<

When i first started, i would go to places where people were died alot and take the stuff they dropped. Wasn't a really good way to make money, but it was all i knew for quite a while.

Some people are like slinkies, normally they are dull, but they always give you a smile

when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I made my fair of profit at the Zammorak monks at about level 30-about 43 combat, no, I didn't scam people, I telegrabbed the wine when they where 1000gp each, got me from like 33-50 magic and made me a profit for over 1500k

I used to merchant to make most of my money because at lvl 10 your skills really arent that good. The money I made fueled my skilling, mostly RuneCrafting.

I went upstairs in a house in Rimmington, I trained on the two people up there and sold the bronze scimmy respawn to the general store. I trained on those level 2 people until i was 40 something combat. :P
