Just wondering, approximately how many apps are there left? Just to see how long we should wait before seeing the new Mods.

Mods in training that is ;-)

Exactly :D I wouldn't expect to be told how many applications are left. I assume one of the big reasons is it would show how many other "opponents" people still have and their odds that they'd become a Mod Trainee.

One question though, sorry if this has been answered elsewhere or hasn't been decided... Or can't be told... But how many applications are expected to pass? In other words, what's the ideal amount of Mod Trainees that the Admin/Mod team are looking for?

We dont have an exact number we want , or need.

It depends on the voting process of the applicants that still remain.

Got declined just as I was starting to get excited.

even if they told you how many apps are left, and how many trainee mods they want ideally, you wouldn't have odds to work with. people are different, and saying there are 100 apps, and 10 spots does not give everyone a 1/10 chance. half the apps could be from complete idiots, and the other half from the forum's most helpful people.

cheers

Got decline....oh well. Not my fault when people post keyloggers at 6am and no one is there to deal with it.

Of course they had absolutely no reason to decline you. *Twisting albosky's metaphor thing* Declined names are randomly pulled out of a hat

Then I guess you will be happy to know that you're not the only person from you're time zone who sent in an application.

Yay! Because I kind of hate when theres like a keylogger thread and like 30 posts go by without no response of the Modertator team.

Good Luck on those who haven't got decline.

I hate that too... usually what I do if I see it past 10 or so posts (only had to do it once though) is I go in and post something to the effect of "Stop posting in this topic. You're only making the issue worse by keeping it at the top."

Now of course I only do it just after another person "spams" it so that I'm not blamed for the bump directly, but all talk usually stops after that.

don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?

Well I guess you have to report it and hope for the best that a moderator or admin will happen to cross the path of it. It happens unfortunately :(

I got Declined about 4.5 hours ago.

Cant say im not disappointed, but its worth the experience. Sending in the application, acknowledging how other people are working around the community.

Goodluck to everyone who are not declined - yet  rofl

Ah yes, but what about the promise that each decline would have a reason? You would have to think of a reason, in which case pulling out of the hat doesn't help much, does it?

Hi, sorry, we declined your application. We pulled your name out of a hat. Better luck next time!

^There's your reason :P

Every decline includes a categorical and often distinct reason. If anyone responds asking for more specifics on how to improve their forum presence, we will discuss it further.

Just to clarify, that was a joke made about the joke of pulling declines out of a hat. Not me complaining or something. My reason was perfectly valid, even though I think it's a funny reason. Btw, it's quite admirable that you're giving a reason and decline for each application. That's a big job. I hope you can finish it soon.

Is there an estimated date when we can expect to see the results? Now with the Search option disabled, View X/Y's posts doesn't work anymore. Does this effect the process in any way at this time?

Hehe it does/did affect it a tad. Although, we're actually quite lucky. We managed to get through almost all of the applications and make decisions before the search function went offline.
