Even if you, or I are declined it shouldn't change your posting attitude. You've probably gained some good lesson from being declined, that you could use in real life, and the internet Actually, I think I look forward to being declined, just to know what I do wrongly.

 

 

 

I think you should tone it down a little bit, because its easy to see that you're trying to show yourself as a nice, dependable guy for the admins. But to us normal users on the ground floor here you're just coming across as an [wagon] that cares to much about being a "moderator". No truthful person is that enthusiastic.

You also need to remember, Mods are mostly OUR age... So they most likely know what you're playing at.

 

 

 

As far as im aware, this thread was a bad idea. Leeches and Mod-hopefuls have been plaguing it with cliches and sweet-talk.

 

 

 

If you guys want to make a difference, spend as much time in Help and Advise as you do on this thread. They DO need you to post.

Sorry, but it is in fact too late :( It was a Global Announcement for a week, and the thread was even advertised on the Tip.it hompage in the Forum News section.

 

Hmm, I don't take much notice of those annoucements, even if they are everywhere. :wall:

I must agree, this thread is a funny thing to read. You can see how some people are really trying to sound cool and act like good mods. Good luck with that folks, I don't think it's working. :D

 

 

 

To be honest, the fact that there are hundreds of apps surprised me quite a bit. Didn't think there would be that many people that know how to mod.

The position the application is for is "Moderator Trainee" so it's really more about them wanting to learn how to moderate as opposed to already having the experience.

The staff and the whole TIF community will all benefit from this - im sure :)

 

 

 

I was admin here for a long time, when I had to quit due to health problems. I left with a heavy hart because I knew we were "understaffed".

 

 

 

I have seen some great people be added to staff after that and now we might get a whole lot more mods in the future :thumbsup:

 

 

 

A moderator - what is that person like?

 

 

 

A moderator is humble and polite.

 

 

 

A moderator puts the forums best interest before his or hers wishes.

 

 

 

A moderator is devoted and alert.

 

 

 

A moderator is helpfull and service-minded.

 

 

 

A moderator is first and foremost a teamworker.

As far as I know, the chosen ones aren't announced yet. If they were, you'd probably know. Look for a global announcement I'd say. The clock is ticking, and the choices are narrowing... :D

That's a very good point. We cannot read every topic and every reply to a topic. We rely our you tipiters to hit the report button when you see someone trying to scam passwords, selling RS Gold, posting inproper images or words and other offenses.

 

 

 

You are already part of the staff when you do that. And it's a good way to get noticed. 8-)

Just so you know folks, it has been more than 2 weeks, as said in the first post, so now the announcement can happen any second, and we'll see who the new trainees are.

I think its called thread etiquette, letting a topic die down when we're all waiting for something, or someone to update the topic. The topic is active, but not enough to keep posting on it, when there is no discussion, and everyone who would be posting would probably be posting spam/give me it posts, or discussions. =S
