~Dumb School Rules~

First of all I'd like to say sorry if there is another thread like this or is breaking any of TIF rules.

Onto the topic!

I believe every school has some genuinely (sp?) stupid rules. Post your school's rules, relieve yourself and share others with your rules, and even some stories caused by one or another rule.

Mines:

*Must not talk back to teacher. (kinda annoying when teacher is a moron)

*No fights inside of school. (everyone's fighting outside)

*No extreme clothing or coming naked (really!)

*No heavy PDA (light kisses are allowed, though not openly. but really, who in htie right mind would THAT kind of stuff in school :D)

*If you didn't have test when you classmates had, no matter the reason. even if you had a brain damage, you have 1 week to do it. Else you get an F or 2 or 20 w/e your country is.

*For 1-4 graders: Must not go out of your class's corridor (sp?) (WTF!!!)

*Must obey peace-guardians (8-11 garder who guard halls(sp?)). (Noone cares for that rule ^.^ )

That's pretty much, might add later.

Oh, and we don't get detentions or supensions from school. And I'm 10th grader.

All rules have some use, don't people in America have school without uniform? Then that rule about no extremem clothing could matter when some idiot comes in wearing...just something plain stupid :P

What!?! at my school we can come in naked!

Those rules don't seem to bad. I hate rules that say I can't go outside during lunch.

Err...speaking as a teacher, those are all pretty good rules.

The only one I come close to having a problem with is the first one, but that's because I am too used to college where you could contest the teacher in public.

However, in a school of your level, you shouldn't do so, because it will negatively influence the learning environment. You should tell the teacher after class, and they can reteach the wrong information at the next class meeting.

Wow, didn't thought we have a teacher within us. Your school where you teach must have some stupid rules. There is no school without that kind of rules.

Oh,I remembered. This is not really a rule, but if you don;t show our history teahcer that we have a wrokbook on our second lesson, you won't get more than B a whole semester. How crazy is that ?

You misunderstood me. All the rules you mentioned are in effect at most schools, and I agree with them. I was just explaining your first one and why it is a good rule.

so what would your rules be?

A friend to all is a friend to none.

Those rules are not really dumb.

:?

I think that most rules are there for a good reason... I don't like having to work to get good grades, but I guess I have to. :? That's not really a rule, is it...?

One thing I'll say is that elementary seems like torture, at least looking back on it. "Line Basics!!!" :)

My school likes to let us dress how we want. My freshman year I saw a girl wearing a fishnet shirt. I wouldn't have minded if she was good looking, but I wish I hadn't seen her :-X

The only rule i think is harsh is:

*If you didn't have test when you classmates had, no matter the reason. even if you had a brain damage, you have 1 week to do it. Else you get an F or 2 or 20 w/e your country is.

But somehow I don't think that rule is real..

Those are all good rules. Especially pre-college the first one is good because most of the time kids interrupting just ruin the class.

I really don't see what is so strange about those.

I really wish people would think before posting these threads.... There are reasons for those rules. Stop acting immature/ignorant and actually open your eyes to see that those rules are there for a reason.

In the second to last year of high school we were officially banned from making grilled cheese sandwiches in the hallway. Not like we were using a frying pan or anything, just a device that's basically a waffle iron, only shaped for sandwiches. Although the ban was officially because we were using school electricity, it was mostly because the lunch lady was complaining that we were practically giving them away while she was overcharging for them.

Now thats a great rule.

Ok, near our school there is a McDonalds, KFC and Burger King near our school. We aren't allowed to go to McD or KFC but we can go to BK. Why not all 3 wtf?

We aren't allowed to go into Kendrews (Corner Shop) but we can go into Martins (Similar just by a different name) which is nearer.

No physical contact. Someone got detention for poking someone. Lol.

You aren't allowed to bring sweets into school premises. Yet there is a tuck shop which sells them for a lower price...

You are not allowed on the AWTA (ALL WEATHER TRAINING AREA) when it is raining heavily or snowing.

Now, the next 2 rules combined are my favourites.

No Tennis Balls, Footballs over size 2, rugby balls.

If you wish to go onto the AWTA (All weather training area) you must wear trainers whether it is retrieving a tennis ball or rugby ball (lol?) or actually playing on it.

We're not allowed to go to the shops near our school but really..we've seen teachers in there ourselves and most people go a few days a week :-$

But that rugby/football rule sounds stupid...most of my year is playing football or sometimes rugby at lunch on South Field (just a name) and no one tries to stop us. *thanks that doesn't go the RGS*

They blocked off the shortcut through the old people's home, we now have to walk all the way round. You know there's a Whitgift Bar which some Sixth Formers go to to drink after school lol.

Any good teachers this year?

Er..are you listing in your post rules you like or dislike? :?

In our school, we can't wear hoodies (obvious reasons), if you are wearing one they make you switch up with a shirt that reads "Jangles"

Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.

all the rules in my old school where decent ones, we werent allowed to go out at break/lunch AT ALL without permission though, but thats better than stupid things like only able to goto x shop but not y shop, and once they "tried" to block up a shortcut which cuts 5-10 minutes off the time it takes ALOT of people to get there and back, there was a gate thing on 1 side though to climb up on and on the other side people used some pieces of wood from the field which where vandalised (by random people) off the all weather pitch thing to climb up, rofl, and like a week later a new hole was made in the fence.
