What Jagex Rule would you Remove

Featured Replies

This was an old topic called "MOST UNFAIR JAGEX RULE"

I decided to change this a little, the new question is:

What rule should be removed? Post... And have fun :)

Rule 15 - Advert Blocking

Please do not block the Adverts in free-to-play RuneScape.

I already saw that stuff and i can't see full screen =)

I gotta put more pixels!

Saradomin gwd drops: 6 Ss, 2 hilts.

Why can't you trade stuff between characters? Not to gain an unfair advantage? Are gifts from friends unfair advantages, should gifts be banned?

I agree with johannes and the filters too strict for a 13+ game.

They should have you put in a valid CC number (even if you aren't members) to prove that you have your parent's concent and permission to play.

That way no bots would be made, no little kiddies would play..

And we could say [cabbage]. And damn. :(

Rule 8's "no transferring items between accounts" clause.

I completely understand why they wouldn't want you to be on multiple accounts at once. But can you tell me exactly how transferring items that YOU earned to another account is an 'unfair' advantage? It's not like RuneScape is a game where the gameplay is limited in some way where abusing multis would be a problem...

I personally don't completely agree with Rule 8.

A while ago a few of my friends started playing, and I generously donated a lot of things to them. Technically they're getting an "unfair" advantage..

none of them are exactly "unfair" although the offensive language one is taken a bit too far. i mean what's so bad about crap?

soldersig.jpg

For the people who disagree with the offensive language rule:

Just because somebody is over the age of 13 doesn't mean they want to hear/see those words. I'm 17, and I'd rather not have to see players throwing obscenities around while I'm trying to relax and play the game.

Besides, do we really want to grant the immature players the ability to swear?

Just like WoW <3:

Drop trading isn't permitted to help protect the in game economy that has been developed. It's just not Runescape, many other games look down on having "mule" accounts.

If everybody had unlimited access to store whatever they wanted, there would be an outflux of items and raw materials from the player based market, effectively completely changing the economy as we know it now within the game.

So in essence, it's a mechanic of the game itself and the game is designed so you only have finite room to store your items, causing you to make choices on what to keep and what to sell or destroy. Those who drop trade are taking advantage of a flaw shared in MMORPG's ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ if you can trade items then it will be possible to trade them to your other accounts as well.

Rule 1: Offensive Language is [cabbage]. First of all, the "chat-flooding" section of it is completely subjective. I received .3 black marks for saying "Lag" three times in a row at PC. Apparently, some wanna-be mod reported me for "chat spamming."

Secondly, they should make the censor OPTIONAL, with the exception of the F bomb. That should always remain censored, as the game is PG-13. However, censoring words like damn and crap is asinine, especially for a PG-13 rated game. With the optional censor should come a "password protected" feature, in which a parent can "lock" the ability to turn it off if he or she feels it is necessary. That would give people the freedom to talk without the inhibitions of the filter, whilst also allowing Parents to feel secure that their children are not being exposed to profanity. Best of all worlds.

td2sig.jpg

They take the censor much too far. It's a 13+ game and I really wish they would start inforcing that :(.

Blakdragon39.png

Censor needs to be toned down, and you should be able to trade between characters if you share the same computer with someone

Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.

Rule 1:

You should be able to say....

Gay

Homosexual

Sexy

Crap

[wagon]

Dork (I know what it is... but still...)

Lesbian

Sexism

Damn

Damn, I'm fresh...

All of the rules are fair, although the censor used in Rule 1 is a little bit too strict.

Well, think, if there was no censor, people would make swear bots <.< (I have seen this happen before)

omg but reely the unfairyest rule is item scammng it fun 2 scam peeple lawlz!1

Nah, all the rules are OK.

Rule 5: Jagex Staff Impersonation

bU7 1 r @ j463x m0d!!1

Nah, I'm fine with all the rules. It's the way Jagex handles the punishment of rule breaking that unsettles me. :|

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

I don't agree with rule 15 from a security aspect. If I were to run noscript (ff extension), about half of the adverts don't show up.(Those involving javascript and flash, that aren't from http://www.runescape.com) Granted, the odds of one of them containing anything malicious is slim, but it could happen.

Don't give Jagex any ideas :x
