September 16, 200718 yr Do any of you own an older console which you still sometimes play for the heck of it? :) These consoles include the NES, N64, GBA, Atari 2600 and so on. If yes what games do you have with it, and which are your favorite? I only own a GBA (classic one) that I've gotten when I was around ten. I have Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, V-rally 3, and Quad Racing for it. They are great for the chilly experience. I might just pick up a Final Fantasy game for it. :P You?
September 16, 200718 yr i don't have a NES anymore but I still got my N64 hooked up to play GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and MarioKart (among others).

September 16, 200718 yr I thought about playing some of my old DOS games the other day, maybe I'll go ahead and do that now. Maybe some SW: Rebel Assault or RAII, maybe some Tie Fighter, or possibly some Dark Forces.
September 16, 200718 yr I have a PC built exclusively for MS DOS games. It's a frankenstein-esque monster slapped together from old parts scavanged from computers found at garage sales. Most of the games also come from stacks of floppies I bought at garage sales, although it's padded a bit with stuff that's available from Abandonware sites. I also have Windows 3.11 installed on the machine for nostalgia's sake, but there are very few games available for it. No real reason to play my PS1, but I have it anyways O:) I bought the SNES not long back at some pawn shop for $15, so I only have a couple games for it...I didn't realize that all the good ones cost 30-$50 on Amazon and Ebay "El que no arriesga no gana"

September 17, 200718 yr The oldest console that I have in my house (if you include hand held ones) is probably my game boy advance, the first one, not the sp (although I also have an sp).

I have about half a dozen DOS games I play on DOSbox every once in a great while. Games no one has ever heard of. They came free with my computer but I love the nostalgia factor. If I played these games today without ever having played them 12-13 years ago, they would be garbage. But nostalgia is a powerful force...

They came free with my computer but I love the nostalgia factor. If I played these games today without ever having played them 12-13 years ago, they would be garbage. But nostalgia is a powerful force... Yeah, I have some games like that too. Can't remember their names now, and I can't seem to find the floppies. It was a demo disk that had Raptor and Jetpack on it. The other games were and Asteroids clone, a Missile Command clone, and a game where you have to shoot down paratroopers, and if you do well a guy delivers pizza. I loved those :D
September 18, 200718 yr You don't need a separate PC for DOS games, just download DOSBox :D.I know about DOSBox, I just like the feeling of playing them on a computer where the power switch is still a switch, and where there's a physical key required to start it up :P My Tip.It Times Articles (10 and counting) || The Varrock Library Author Index projectDo you dare to dream? - Part 19 added. || The Hospital (WIP) - New story!Necromagus looks like a viking ... with glasses.
