Lateralus
I wonder how and who came up with the concept of tieing a piece of fabric around your neck to look important. I mean, shirts, keep your warm and look smart. Trousers, the same. Shoes are also practical. But ties? It covers the shirt buttons and looks cool as hell. Suits look far too casual without ties. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
Bubsa
I understand that now, but the idea of wrapping something around your neck first to get that desired effect somewhat baffles me. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Mercifull
I wear ties on formal occasions but i never wear them normally, and that includes at work. Stone69_Eyes
Can't stand ties, wore a red one with my black formal shirt it really sucked. I enjoyed the look of it but the restrictions on my neck was like clastrophobia all over again. Never again would i wear one. But i really like a plain blood red tie, over a black formal shirt 8-) ^Click Siggy for Blog^
kelem_ryu
I never wore a tie in my life. (That's 25 years of no tie wearing) I love men in a suit and tie. No character ties or Jesus ties and I'm cool with it. wtf are "character ties" or "Jesus ties"? EDIT: If i were to wear a tie, i'd probably go for a monocolored one. I definitely wouldn't wear one of those you posted.
nicrune007
Personally I don't like wearing ties. I don't like having anything around my neck, I don't like the constriction. I'm a bit strange in that sense, I don't put anything around my neck - no tie or chain. Yep thats how i feel also. Here he is, wearing a particularly vile tie belonging to my father: Now that is a serious cat. :) I love men in a suit and tie. No character ties or Jesus ties and I'm cool with it. I feel the same. megakiller32
A tie with glowsticks in it would be awesome O.o I saw a man wearing a tie with all the south park characters on. I like ties which you can enjoy wearing. (Which excludes most formal ties.) I have a tie which is a map of the London Tubes :D But by far my favourite tie is brown, with diagonal thick tan stripes and a blue bit at the top. I would scan it, but i wub it too much :-# Quit Runescape 30th May 2006.Thanks to Hawkxs for my signature :)

Barihawk
I have the entire Regis collection (monochromatic ties) and a few goofy ties. Not really any favorite. I just try to relate the situation I am wearing it for. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. kido14
Wow I can't believe you made a topic telling people over the internet which shirt to wear with your tie to "look good in public." Anyways bow ties are where it's at. I used to wear them when I had presentations in high school Last.fm: http://www.last.fm/user/Aaronm14/MY FAVORITE BAND:http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=64310717And the bible is the big book of lies, call me a racist if you must. Necromagus
Beat me to it Anyway, I've never worn a tie, and I really can't see myself wearing one on any kind of regular basis, even after I finish studying and find myself a job... meol
Try ties with Solid Colours, IMO they are the coolest and the most formal looking ones, especially deep red or blue ones. This signature is intentionally left blank.

jjrox32
I hate wearing a tie, but I have to for school. At least it's a decent looking tie; plain black, with a few blue stripes and my school logo on it.
Lenin64
plain black if anything Yea, me too. Or bright white, if the rest of the suit is white. I actually just bought a bunch of ties for a model business thing I'm going to next month, some pretty nice patterns there. But you just can;t beat solid black. Command the Murderous Chalices! Satenza
You do know it is traditional (at least in England) to wear black ties only for funerals. I do not know why everyone keeps saying black ties, unless of course you are all morbid characters in reality. Oh and you can not get worse than solid black or white ties on either white or black shirts. Infact wearing a black shirt with a solid colour tie like black or white or any colour thats to bright looks way to contrasting and kitch. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
