I wonder how and who came up with the concept of tieing a piece of fabric around your neck to look important. I mean, shirts, keep your warm and look smart. Trousers, the same. Shoes are also practical. But ties?

 

 

 

It covers the shirt buttons and looks cool as hell. Suits look far too casual without ties.

I understand that now, but the idea of wrapping something around your neck first to get that desired effect somewhat baffles me.

I wear ties on formal occasions but i never wear them normally, and that includes at work.

Can't stand ties, wore a red one with my black formal shirt it really sucked. I enjoyed the look of it but the restrictions on my neck was like clastrophobia all over again. Never again would i wear one. But i really like a plain blood red tie, over a black formal shirt 8-)

Personally I don't like wearing ties. I don't like having anything around my neck, I don't like the constriction. I'm a bit strange in that sense, I don't put anything around my neck - no tie or chain.

I saw a man wearing a tie with all the south park characters on. I like ties which you can enjoy wearing. (Which excludes most formal ties.)

I have the entire Regis collection (monochromatic ties) and a few goofy ties. Not really any favorite. I just try to relate the situation I am wearing it for.

Try ties with Solid Colours, IMO they are the coolest and the most formal looking ones, especially deep red or blue ones.

Solid colors, I can't were my pooka-dotted one (first page, dark blue & red). Its awesome, I reguarly hate pooka-dots but this tie is quite nice .

Yea, me too. Or bright white, if the rest of the suit is white. I actually just bought a bunch of ties for a model business thing I'm going to next month, some pretty nice patterns there. But you just can;t beat solid black.

You do know it is traditional (at least in England) to wear black ties only for funerals. I do not know why everyone keeps saying black ties, unless of course you are all morbid characters in reality.

 

 

 

Oh and you can not get worse than solid black or white ties on either white or black shirts. Infact wearing a black shirt with a solid colour tie like black or white or any colour thats to bright looks way to contrasting and kitch.
