I think we can all agree that each year Jagex puts more effort into holiday events. I personally am exited about it, and it's fun that everyone can dress up into costumes every year, and as more items are released, the variety spreads. The hood is behind the idea that we can start to invent our own costumes as bits and bobs are added. I mean, wouldn't it be cool if the hood made your head into a skull? But if we only got that, we can then experiment (shade robes, skeleton gloves and boots? If you've lasted long enough, a scythe?) to get impressive effects. Full customisation is one of the qualities of Runescape, and we should utilise it more.

well, the items are free and jagex doesn't really have to create holiday events so I don't mind what they give me.

 

I don't really think holiday events will ever be very usefull other than fun ( so no flying broom ) cause that would be unfair for later players.

 

So it's just another toy, and as long as I can store it with diango I don't really care what it is, sooner or later you'll just be bored of it and won't mind.

The Reindeer was a let-down indeed, however, the way you had to get it was nice :)

I'm looking forward to getting a hood. Hood + priest robes + scythe should be hawt.

 

 

 

If you don't want the reward, don't complain, just ruins it for the rest of us.

 

 

 

(Btw, Skull Scepter works as well if you don't have a scythe)

 

 

 

As for the broom, I voted for it, but i think that the hood was a good choice as well.

All I want, is a fun weapon, it's about time we had another fun weapon.

 

 

 

Just missed the rubber chicken, and there has not been a fun weapon since.

 

 

 

 

 

What I'd love to see at Christmas, is snowballs as a permanent fun weapon - places you can remake them, and have them as a ranged weapon which goes "splat" in non PK, and is -100 or whatever in actual combat, a range version of the rubber chicken.

As long as it completes two things:

 

 

 

1. Involves an action of it's own, which is better than the Easter Ring.

 

2. Graphics fit the season, SCARY.

 

 

 

If Jagex does those, everyone will be happy.

IMO, the best non-tradeable holiday item is the rubber chicken. It's just so darn fun. Some after that were okay, like the easter ring. But things like skeleton suit? Waste of time and space. This year i'm just going to wear it for 1 hour, and then it's another item for Diango to keep. (Unless it's semi-useful/fun)

I think i'll have to start paying Diango to wear all that useless stuff for me.

 

 

 

MAKE SOMETHING GOOD. I know it's free, blabla and some were good, blabla. The good things were: Santas, Green masks, Phats, Easter ring and Rubber chicken in howmuch years? :?

i wanted a broom or even better the zombie leg club which was suggested countless times in the rof suggestion thread.I do hope tehyres a poh item to give my house something halloweeny,a jackolantern or a witches cauldron instead of a stove 8-)

 

 

 

Also im sick to death by people whining about jagex putting some effort into holiday events,well about 99% of the people who i were chatting to after the easter event had a blast and it was one of the funnest times i ever had.Id rather have an update which gives me 30 minutes of ellation and fun that a new way to grind youre way through youre goals :roll:

for F2P, the hood will be great considering its the only hood, unless they make it look really stupid, but for P2P i think it will be a let down, they already have plenty of hoods, Ahrims hood looks great and the 1 from PC looks alright. The event, as always is just a small waste of time, they're usually not that fun.

The hood better have the same shape a lucien's and you can see a little bit of your face from under there, or it should turn your face into a skull. That would be TOTALLY EVIL.

I am also really envious of the bunny ears and scythes people wear. I think that every individual should CHOOSE what he/she wants to get instead of jagex making something new every year unless the majority agrees.

Lol, remember the content poll? It was guarenteed that we're getting a Grim Reaper ( :P ) Hood and a zombie hand bursting out of the ground as an emote.

Well it was 100% players choice through the poll so if the reward is bad it is the majority of player who voted for it's fault......

 

 

 

Well since none of the choices recieved more than 50%, more players did not get what they want than those who did get what they wanted.

I just hope it will be something nice, a hood certainly would be B)

There was so many good choices able to pick in the poll, but everyone choose a grim reap hood. I honestly dont think it will look good, but i guess we will have to wait and see.

Jagex will probably make it good because they know there will be riots (even though its only in a game). If the hoods a let down the emote seems preety cool. I guess we will see in a few days.

FYI it was a mem only poll... (it was on the runescape forums) I would have voted for the broom or brooch but if we got all three they would look sweet together :

Personally I'd much rather have the broom over the hood, even though it would probably have been just an emote (not actual flying around). Like previous posters have said, we've had too much headgear for holiday rewards. A new weapon would be quite welcome in my opinion.

masks and party hats can just be bought but scythes and ears are actually proof
