Personally, I don't think they should do it. It will ruin their life completely. Why am I posting this? Many people in my class smoke/drink/do drugs and anything under the sun. Yeah I'm under-age but as long as I can control myself and I don't binge drink I personally see no problem with it. A friend to all is a friend to none. I drink under age, probably once a night, once a week. and I don't think twice, because I enjoy doing it. I enjoy going to parties, or the pub, and having a good time. I don't smoke, but sometimes when I'm drunk, I will have a drag of someone elses, I feel bad for doing it because it's harmful towards myself, not because I'm under age. and I've only just tried weed last weekend for the first time, it wasn't enough to get me high, so I've got no real comment on the use of drugs. Over here the drinking age is 16 for beer and wine, 18 for anything stronger. Coffeeshops only sell to 18 and over. Over the past few years there have been some isolated incidents that have led the government to crack down on stuff like alcohol advertising on TV and the selling of breezers in supermarkets. The main problem seems to be is that parents are too lax. To be honest, I'd rather have my 17 year old child getting high than getting drunk though... I'd rather see my teens high. Alcohol is quite a bit worse than weed. It's proven to be a much more addictive drug which can do some serious physical risks. There is also the risk of fatal overdose. Not to mention being high doesn't severely impair your judgement in the same way that alcohol does. For me... I drink every weekend, usually quite responsibly (never getting too drunk). I smoke weed at least 2 times a month. On the days that I smoke weed I tend to drink far less alcohol (I don't like mixing the two). I don't smoke tobacco. I've never smoked a full cigarette, and I probably never will. It slows my reaction speed, but it doesn't make me as reckless as alcohol would. I've never been out in traffic while high. It does change the way how I think and perceive my surroundings. The morning after is generally a lot more doable too. Again, it's mostly about using it responsible. What I mean is having one drink of something like 4 times a year shouldn't get you arrested. Anything that can seriously impair your thinking and such, should not be done until you are mature enough, which is usally the correct age limit. I'm not trying to encourage under-age drinking/etc but I would like to hear how is would ruin someone's life by having a few beers sensibly. But if your someone who drinks, gets wasted and underage there's a problem. I drink the odd time and usually the person helping out the one throwing up. Reason: Unless you want everyone from 14-18 with alcohol, then you put the age limit at 21. If 18 year olds drink, so do their younger friends, and their friend's friends, ect. Also, I don't care much if you do it underage, as long as you don't force it on others or kill others... But a lot of people can keep a bit of sence when drunk/high, so... I completely agree, I'm enjoying life whilst I can, who knows what going to happen to me next week, or the week after? When I do drink I do it because I like the taste of the liquor (like cider, I love cider), not because of peer pressure or the eagerness to get drunk (which some of my schoolmates seem to like). IMO, it's ok when people do it, as long as they can handle it (not getting addicted, drinking to the point "you don't know how you made it to your house") The worst thing about it is that some people simply are too immature to control themselves. Also, there's nothing you can really do in order to enforce the minimum age on drinking/smoking, it will always be easy to bypass it somehow. This signature is intentionally left blank. They're really nice usually, good music, wide selection, good customer service, nice ambience... I personally wouldn't drink for the sake of getting drunk. Plain stupidty, just throw some bricks on top of your head and it'll feel the same tomorrow. I wouldn't get high neither, seems pointless to look at flying random colours and forgetting stuff. If someone underage is completely wasted, that's [obviously] bad, and does kind of annoy me, but hell, as long as they're not endangering others, go ahead, get wasted, party, do whatever, I don't care. If you get too wasted, and wake up almost dead from alcohol poisoning, I couldn't care less. However, with anything smoked, I am highly, HIGHLY, against! If you want to cabbage up your life, feel free, but if you smoke anything, it's producing highly toxic smoke that can cause things like lung cancer. NO THANKS! For the record, I've never done either. The spelling and grammar of that email was that of an 11 year old palestinian goatboy who is speaking english for the first timeQuite simply, Facebook craps on Myspace. Then makes it eat the crap.
