Edit: I don't think i'm going to be able to complete this goal. I've already spent well over 20m trying to get the cape and even with purple sweets i can not see myself getting much further.

Spending about an hour and 40 minutes getting to the boss then dying in what, 10 minutes? :| I know how you feel, i attempted 4 times, first 2 times i died on wave 26, you know with the 2 lvl 400's magic with the rangers and meleers, was trying to lure them and got piled, it didn't help i had the wrong prayer. Third time i finally got to the boss then decided to use karil's crossbow.. that did not go well, i even used the ranging crystals but i found it completely killed my def ( lvl 98 def).... and got piled by the tentacles, the final time i got to wave 30 then i forgot that jad moves out of his safe spot once the last melee monster is killed so i had the wrong prayer and got piled.Kudos for you trying on a pure account!I'm thinking of keep trying until i get to boss and using the polypore staff to try and own and stay away from the range/mage crystals at the boss.... I also play in fixed mode so i can't tell how much of the boss hitpoint i downed before i died. [spoiler=Sig] I like to think of the Dark Bow like a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) - you get one shot and then you're screwed.
