I just saw an advert for this film on tv. Its a computer-animated film, about some norse/viking guy who makes a deal with a monster. (Very basic synopsis lol).

 

 

 

After searching the internet I found out that all the actors in it wore these body suits like Andy Serkis (gollum) wore in LOTR where their actions where represented on a computer screen. Looks pretty cool because the actors prey much look like themselves.

 

 

 

This film isnt out yet in the UK where I am, but I thought it might already have been shown elsewhere in the world? if you've seen it what do you think of it?

Yer, I spotted the poster for that last week when I was in the cinema. Looks really weird.

 

 

 

Unless someone here actually says it's good, I think i'll skip it and catch it on dvd

We just finished reading the story of it in my senior english class. Was a pretty interesting story if you pay attention to it. I'll probably see it.

For a moment I thought you were talking about the 1999 movie... I cringed just thinking about that one.

Hmm, it sounds alright from what I've heard and seen from the trailers, and I'm pretty sure it'd be something I'd like to watch.

I can barely tell the difference between the computer-generated Angelina Jolie and the real one.

Saw the shorts for it when I saw Resi Evil 3 last night, I think I might skip it, didn't catch me as anything really good. But the CG looks amazing.

He's actually a huge Nordic guy who can swim underwater for over 24 hours without breathing. While wearing armour. Then fighting and killing a demon afterwards.

I hope to see it, but not before it is out on DVD. I've seen the ad a few times now, and like the looks of it.

Im gonna go see it on friday when it comes out because it does look pretty awesome... The ads on tv make it look awesome....

It's a classic poem from Middle English, like 13th century old skool. The poem was about 2500 lines long.

 

I studied it briefly in year 9 (about 14 years old), and I liked it.

 

 

 

The effects look pretty cool, and I really want to see how they portray Grendel (the monster).

 

 

 

Angelina Jolie as Grendel's Mother kind of put me off, I'm not really a fan of hers.

My freinds been talking about it nonstop since he found out its coming out. He claims its gonna be the 300 killer.

Yeah, I think the only difference is how fast he shouts beowulf for some reason. I read the book in highschool and liked the story, so I figure I'll watch the movie.

Doesn't she, you know, get royally owned by Beowulf? I'm trying to remember this from a year or two ago, read the whole thing, but I remember her getting killed :-k .

Beowulf kills Grendel's mother with a sword he finds in her lair, after the long swim I mentioned earlier. Because it turned out it would take too long to kill her with his bare hands, and the sword was shiny and magical, so he had to have it.

The book (poem) was interesting, I might see this. It looks a little cheesy though. :-k

They also both use huge amounts of CGI.

 

 

 

I read the English version a few years ago, thought it was decent. The movies definitely not going to be anything like it, but eh, if I get the chance, why not.
