No more RANDOM EVENTS/PURE ESS needed anymore now?!

Featured Replies

The point of randoms was to relieve the monotony in skilling as well as screwing up macros. Yes, they can be annoying sometimes, but it makes rs different from most other games. Stuff like the genie and the exam can also be incredibly useful you know.

As for pure ess, it could be scrapped but I doubt that will happen. Macros will still try to sell stuff on the GE, they could easily find ways to abuse the system.

I agree, now that RWTing is taken down, Jagex can now remove the redundant security measures in place to prevent RWT and inhibited players. However, randoms aren't redundant. They break the monotony of training a skill. However, I think that non-constructive skills such as the Swarm can now be 'eradicated'.

I think that pure essence can be slowly dissolved so that RCing gets a well earned boost. The arguments for pure essence have now almost completely collapsed, and once the macros go, it will be a pointless burden on the community.

I know everyone feels at the bottom at the moment, but things are looking up.

EDIT: But don't get rid of the drunken dwarf, it's a bit of an important plot point (Especially since it's part of the name of a quest: Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf). Besides, I've kinda grown to love his alcohol-induced pointlessness.

I still like the maze but some of the more annoying ones need to go: Sandwich lady, drunken dwarf, old man, etc.

Barrows Drops: Guthan's platelegs and War Spear, Dharok's plate body and Great Axe, Verac's Flail, Verac's Helm x 2, Ahrim's top, Dharok's plate legs

Dragon Drops: Medium Helm x 4, Shield Left Half, plate legs x 2, skirt x 2.

People will still use bots to level up skills.

Geaux Tigers ! Congrats on a great year !

I like doing random events and I also like the pure essences. I don't want Jagex to remove them, and why should they? People will still use bots and macros, just not as much as before, and the randoms and pure essences will make it harder to use these.

If people continue on botting. They will get detected and banned. It's just RWTs used alot of accounts which were hard to stop.

Read the First Page.

Random Events are also used to remove skill burnout. It sure helps. <3:

Isnt pure essence required to make some of the member runes as well as use the ZMI runecrafting altar?

I think so, but that can be changed. In other words, all essence, impure or pure will be treated as pure essence. However, the name will revert back to 'Rune Essence' (Which I always thought was a cooler name).

The thing is that now RWTers have been closed off even before they encounter this measure, they don't even bother in the first place because they will never be able to trade it for real money. The floodgates can now be opened because there are no illegal players flowing though.

Oh, and remember that blocking off unbalanced trade is two fold. Autoers cannot trade to their masters, and the masters cannot trade to their buyers. You can't even use bots for personal gain. The only way that I think that you can use autoing programs is by using the main account for personal gain. But nobody's going to risk that.

Yes, but people think that people are going to be macroing on their mains now. :-s :-k Which won't happen unless they want to get banned.

I like the rewarding randoms, like genies and exams. Helps me along the path to 99 hunter and the enslavement of the kebbits, a.k.a. my basic infantry.

People can use minor autoing devices like ghostmouse which records the mouse movement and plays it back so people can cook/fletch/fm while watching tv or something

In a way its still needed, but definately not wanted :D

sig.gif

In my opinion, they should kee them in, they are rewardful, (except mining+rune rock+ lagg= -1100 gp + 10 min wasted, I hate that -.- ),

22031_s.gif

You seam to be missing the problem.

Yes. Jagex got rid of MOST of the RWT, but the keyword is most.

There are still meathods of RWT'ing out there, just not with GP and items.

The biggest problem now is account selling for rl cash, as no in-game trading is needed for this. RWT'ers are now going to auto skills for money and levels to put on accounts, and then sell the accounts.

If you take the randoms out, you are just encouraging them to use auto's to train up accounts to sell. Same with leaving things like the pure ess in. You allow them to auto things to make up big money.

They will not EVER remove randoms or change previous updates for that very reason. Plain and simple.

dawnsigblue-3.png

I just hope they down the rate of randoms, because I don't really feel like tagging about 30 pinball posts/hour -.- . This would also make it still hard to do complete afk, and help with the account-selling-macroing.

I get what people are saying with the account selling but Jagex looks at ips. Don't you think when they see it location was change from China to USA or else where they will ban them?

You guys seem like just because they had to take drastic measures to stop RWT since reporting/banning wasn' enough. That they can't simply ban account traders.

What is the current rate we get randoms? Then we can make a suggestion on what the rate per minute or hour should be.

perhaps, but i have a feeling it will be sometime before we see that measure of a step taken, i do not believe jagex actually has that kind of power dedicated to such a thing. i could be wrong, but it just doesnt seem like jagex would have the upper hand. next year if they actually dedicated a few people to design a system specifically for it and such

but of course, some players do play in various areas of the world frequently, i spoke with a woman the other day who is 36 and she was in hong kong but lives in the netherlands and australia as well(or so she said.) seriously some tricky business here if it not to hurt honest players.

How I interpet the diary was that theres was too much RWT bots which is why they couldn't stop them. But I believe that account trading will be on a much smaller trading scale.

I agree with you. There wouldn't be very much account trading going on if any. Also, I don't think people would want to risk it. I mean, they could just use recoveries to gain the account back after being paid.

Also, if Jagex doesn't plan on restoring the original wilderness (which I hope they do restore), then I think the ditch should be taken out also.

Meh, The Ditch of Stupidity doesn't really affect me or anyone really. It cuts off about 0.01 second off an abyss run.

No more randoms means many more players botting on their mains. I mean whats the risk so long as you kind of pay attention.

If anyone plays NBA Live '08 online on the Wii please PM me. I'm up for anyone.

Clothes randoms or emote randoms THAT YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN ALREADY can stay in. And anything giving over 35k.

getting rid of pure essence would be fun though. Giving F2P players a reliable way of making money would rock.

I say KEEP all randoms in.... it will stop or hinder any bots there are or will be...

I will say moving some of the bots to a "retirement area" would be good.. this would let people play with them.. or cycle them out :)
