Help me quit

Suddenly stopping yourself from playing isnt good for you. giving all your items away, getting banned, etc can all really take a toll on your emotions. not the best way to quit. as wakka said, the best way to get rid of the addiction is to find something to replace it. arrange events with friends or get a permanent girlfriend and you'll slowly reduce your playing time. thats what I do. Though I don't want to quit yet, I still can't stand playing for more than 2 hours before my head hurts or i get bored. then i do other fun things.

I think the next step in quitting would be to leave runescape but stay on tipit or the forums. I know several people who quit runescape ages ago but still roam the offtopic forum today. you can be with friends on the forum, go on RSOF and see the most rediculous posts, etc.

There is no next step to quitting. nobody ever said you had to leave your friends behind on the forums. you can quit runescape and still remain on the forums. and hey, if you DO have spare time, you can always come back. just learn to control how much you play.

[hide=]

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

The only reason that really makes you quit is finding rs boring...

How to find rs boring? Start to see every new update as a negative addition that you'll never do. Another option is starting to train mining to lvl 99 or something?

For me it just happened, on a certain moment I didnt find RS challenging anymore, I had completed most of the goals I had put for myself. And

I just stopped playing from 1 day on another. Now I only play very scarcely, to check out some new updates or sometimes to actually do some training or pking, which is impossible now... But I had already quit before that...

So yeah, try to find RS boring and you'll quit without even noticing it XD

If you ever wanna quit staying away from tip.it would help alot.

I've quit and am still around tip.it.

Hmm a good solution is http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20071231

Just stop playing, find something else to fill your time.

If I were to insult you sufficiently, to the point where you cannot return to RuneScape or tip.it because the mere reminder of the pain my insults put you through, do you think that could encourage to leave and never come back?

Because, for the greater good, I am willing to call you names. But only if you ask nicely.

Goals to get my skills back up to a barely respectable level on the high scores:

Currently going for Bone to Peaches spell. It's amazing how boring doing the same repetitive task is! Stupid MTA

Try making a very very complicated password by using a random password generator. Don't write it down anywhere. Then, change the recovery questions to random stuff. Remember: ONLY DO THIS IF YOU'RE GOING TO QUIT FOREVER!

However, as many people said, this will take a toll on your emotions. If you remember that airline commercial for nicorette? That's what might happen to you. Try playing less each day and organize fun activities other than RuneScape to occupy your time.

I play Runescape, a lot, and I think I'm getting a bit addicted. I play 5-8 hours a day and I don't even know why. I've been doing this for about two years, and I almost always play RS instead of going out with friends.

What do you do when you're 'playing'?? As your stats are woeful if that's really how much you play.

The best advice has already been given though, find a replacement activity that you enjoy more.

You can't change it to random letters, you need to enter it again, and you need to know it to reenter it.

I suppose you could write down like 30 random letters on a paper and burn it afterwards?

Hello there

I am 16 years old and like you I play RS. However, I hardly spend more than an hour playing, but i accomplish everything I wanted to. My goal is to get high combat level, and in one hour, I can do about 4 trips of green dragon hunting.

If u like RS a lot, u can make a time table. Instead of following ur friends around, tell them to join in ur clan chat so you can all talk and not have to waste each others' time. Also, if I am playing and it gets to more than an hour, I just log out. I use a clan chat to talk with my buddies and I have managed to make about 1.3m from dragons so far (hey its only my first month as member lol).

Finally if you really want to quit, pick up an activity. I do track and play guitar, and in addition to homework and studying I find time to hang out with my friends and play a bit of Runescape. I really suggest u make a RS time table.

Good luck,

Cheaindian

The fact that you are asking to be helped to quit isnt good at all. First of all make sure you find something to replace it.... when i used to be addicted and quit for about a year i took up rugby and made it my goal to get onto the state team which i did through hardwork. commitment and all out fitness training.

I much prefered working my [wagon] off for a fit body and respect from all than having a high level pixelised useless character.

Like all addictions you must make sure you wont come back, any addiction will resurface if you come back to what you were doing, if you quit for 3 months and then play for 1 day you will most likely get hooked again.

So set yourself a goal, achieve it and make sure you get a good social life going again..... i much prefer going out with my friends on the weekends than sitting infront of a computer screen.

Also getting a girlfriend your serious about will help alot, not child relationships where you go out for a month each time.

I was addicted to RS when i was 13. I quit and achieved my rugby goal. Im now 15 and on the leinster U16 rugby team, i have a beautiful girlfriend who i have been with for the last 18 months and love deeply and every weekend i go out with my friends. I still play runescape everyday but as soon as my friends call or i want to go out i hit the log out butten and dont even think of logging back in until i come back home.
