Returned3
Question: Can you use dwarven Stout (M) on 67 Smithing to complete the quest? Nope sorry, you need to naturally have the levels apparently. I heard that too. During the quest you don't really do anything with your levels. You do things which could be viewed as smithing/crafting but it's nothing level specific. I don't even know why you need 65 agilty, maybe to leave the prison? I dunno. It isn't like Fairy Tale Pt 2 where you can get to a set point before needing the herblore level to make the magic ess pot. Therefore I would assume you need all levels from the word go before talking to Bill Teach. Actually dude, *Confession time* I used Evil Stews to complete Devious Minds and Req. Assist to complete Fairytale 2. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00 Break the Walls down!

o_knames
I saw some of the whining about the required levels on the RSOF. Obviously, for people like me, it wasn't a big deal if you already had the levels. There is something to be said for being rewarded for the work you've already done. There's also something to be said for earning the ability to do a quest. I greatly enjoyed getting to 70 Smithing so I could easily stew up to complete the Varrock Diary. It was nice to have a reward for that work. I don't have a tangible thing to work towards for my current goal for all skills 70+. It makes it a little more difficult to stay motivated. I have all skills 70+ and am going for all 80+. It is so hard to get motivated to train skills. I did some runecrafting but got bored so easily, same with mining. All I have to look forward to is an 80 next to the skill. I have no desire to craft bloods, nor mine rune so all the training is for is purely for the level. However if i needed to craft bloods to access Castle Draken as part of a quest then it would give me that extra incentive to train. We badly need another diary with high requirements. No, what he means is that theres no marker in your skill journal that sayss you need 69 smithing to do somthing, aru (using what you said for example: In the agility skill journal it says you needed 55 agility to cross the elven log-while as you dont unlock anything at 69 smithing that you make durring the quest) You dare question my eccentricities?~The arus are back~

If memory serves, in the past there have been quests that require certain stats that aren't listed in the skills page. It is perfectly possible that the item that must be made is something that is specific the quest, not a normal item. At any rate, I was under the impression that the smithing requirement for this quest was the making of the hand for Brass Hand Harry. However I could be wrong, since I have the required level and wouldn't know what happens when you don't. On a different note, does anyone have any information on what the pirate implings give you for catching them? I don't seem to see any posts on the matter. lordkafei
The biggest drawback about this quest is that you have to have free bank space to do it - and I am running on the edge. I spent more time emptying my bank of things (unoffered bones, uncrafted hides, etc al) than I did on the quest itself. Oh - and the smithing level req. is so bogus - bronze wire - get real. On a different note, does anyone have any information on what the pirate implings give you for catching them? I don't seem to see any posts on the matter. That's not what I meant. Taking the Regicide example you actually need an agilty level to pass through the trees, potting will work. In the same way in Fairy Tale Pt 2 you need the herblore level to make the potion. You can pot for this too. However for Rocking Out you don't actually use the required levels. The brass hand for example isn't made at a level, there is no agilty needed in the quest (maybe diving from the Prison) and no crafting (maybe the seagull vacum) as such. Basically for this quest Bill Teach will not tell you about the legend (and therefore start the quest) unless you have these levels to begin with. A bit like Dream Mentor and Smoking Kills. Dax
I find this update good, but evil. I absolutely hate Smithing, and i need to gain 8 levels to wear my quest cape again. GibberEsh
Quest was fun, one of the first quests that I did without a guide. When I heard the requirements were high, I was kinda worried since I just wanted to wear my quest cape again but had the stats already! People complaining about the requirements like "omg smithing sux" etc, sheesh just level them; they're not even level 70+. Nice reward and I'm glad that you can't pot up either for these either.
