July 20, 200817 yr It took me years and years but I finally grew a brain and now I only order small combos at Hungry Jacks. And I laugh at people who buy a large drink and eat in when you could just buy a small and refill. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
July 22, 200817 yr sometimes, me and some friend just buy the drink, then hang around for hours drinking everything  they get pretty pissed at us. :P they're the ones who offered free refills, its their own fault. ;) nudist hippy vegan elves who inexplicably wear leather.
July 22, 200817 yr FREE Refills is FREE, if it's not then the place should put 1 refill(even though ppl would take more) or move the soda machine. You keep getting refills are long as you're thirsty I say. All it is water and syrup, it's not even real pop. Also, Fast Food restaurants are just a portion of why people in North America are overweight. There's other factors, that one must be also think upon, the diet in their homes, the type of food offer at school, and if they exercise. You can't place the blame entirely @ McDonalds etc. etc. I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]
July 22, 200817 yr I think a two per person at the most standard drink with ice. You all may think it's "just water and syrup" but you need to add onto that maintenance of the post mix machine. Covering the cost of the drinks themselves per serve as well as delivery/quantity etc. Not to mention some post mix machines use Soda Water not water which is more expensive. But seriously i agree with Jem. I buy a small if i'm dining in, why pay extra. I always want a bigger drink than chips anyway. July 22, 200817 yr From reading a lot of posts on this thread, it seems like some people just get refills and drink a bunch of soda just because they can, not because they actually are thirsty.
July 22, 200817 yr I think you should only get as many refills that are necessary, plus one for the road. I also like to stick my head under the slushie machine. No law against it :P
July 22, 200817 yr In Germany and many other European countries, free refills are unheard of. Hence, once I return to the US from my vacation, I will resume my practice of taking advantage of any refill I can. ~The Plums Are On The Rise~

July 22, 200817 yr I agree with Lionheart_0 I too, am an Atheist. What he was stating is that gluttony is a deadly sin. Literally. Even if you are religious or not, if you consume calories and sugars all day then you will either get diabetes, a heart attack, or get vastly overweight and all those end to dying early. Now, you can take out the sin part, but it is still deadly. Gluttony is not good. I am not disagreeing with the fact that the OP had a right to get as many refills as he wanted, but I hope he'd either work off those extra calories or not drink more than he should. You know that lemonade/soda actually make you more thirsty. So, you could have gone with water, but there is a chemical put in soda to make you more thirty which actually causes you to buy more soda. That's why if you drank 30+ sodas in a day, you'd die of dehydration. The point is that you are entitled to what is stated which is "Free refills" meaning you can get as many as you want. What Lionheart_0 and I are saying is that you shouldn't get more than 2 because it is more calories and soda isn't necessarily good for your body. From reading a lot of posts on this thread, it seems like some people just get refills and drink a bunch of soda just because they can, not because they actually are thirsty. July 22, 200817 yr It obviously makes good economic sense to offer free-refills, otherwise the places wouldn't do it, so the benefits more than outweigh the additional costs from people who drink a few litres worth, apparently for the hell of it. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

That's when I began to wonder how much most Tip.Iters weigh. :? well the main attraction of these free refills is the free part. If I'm correct a free refill is less expensive than the $1.25 it costs to buy a can of soda from a vending machine. And yes soda is unhealthy and loaded with sugar but i highly doubt people are going to a fast food place everyday and stay there for hours and drink refills. BTW i'm not obese
July 22, 200817 yr im going to have to agree about get however many refills as you want cause then you could just get a small drink, refill, refill, refill, refill and it wont cost as much as a large \ A small is technically a large, but with more walking :D Also if they put chemical in soda and lemonade to make you more thirsty, that whats the whole point of complaning for refills is it makes you more thirsty! EDIT: Just did some research, it's caffeine that makes you thirsty. Also some soda contain salt, wich is also a dehydrator. Alot of these websites hate Soda alot O_o nothing on the Lemon aid though...... Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

EDIT: Just did some research, it's caffeine that makes you thirsty. Also some soda contain salt, wich is also a dehydrator. Alot of these websites hate Soda alot O_o nothing on the Lemon aid though...... Actually, a small is only theoretically a large with more walking. Technically a small is a small and a large is a large, but by refills you can, in theory, get a large drink from a small cup by refilling it until you have refilled it with enough liquid to equal the large, while still technically drinking a small. I forget why lemonade makes you more thirsty, something about the high sugar content and the sourness of the lemon works together to make you think you need more water (and you do, because you need to balance the sugar and water levels in your blood). I think there's something about saliva in there where glands shut down or something...Bah, the whole thing is confusing. I say if you want to be a little piggy and drink 5 gallons of lemonade or soda, or drink your way out of a slushee pool, go ahead. You're only managing to make yourself look bad and you're killing yourself just a bit faster by taking in so much sugar and caffeine. Free refills means free refills until the place closes, the drink machine runs out and there's no more materials to make more drinks, or your cup breaks. I don't think legally you can be asked to leave for getting refills, unless they consider it loitering or something.. If limits should be imposed on drinks, does that mean all-you-can-eat buffets should now become all-you-can-eat (on 2 plates) buffets? Oh, and to the people saying "just move the drink machine" - that's just making it harder for the workers. If you advertise free refills and then make the customer have to ask for refills every time, the worker must drop what they are doing, spend the 15-30 seconds to fill up the drink, and give it to the customer...So how does that help anyone? July 23, 200817 yr refill as many times as you want man, you paid for it. do you think a cup of soda is worth about $3? hell no. its worth about 10-15 cents. besides, what the hell would the worker care? its not like you refilling affects his personal financial status. he gets paid either way.
July 23, 200817 yr well the main attraction of these free refills is the free part. If I'm correct a free refill is less expensive than the $1.25 it costs to buy a can of soda from a vending machine. BTW i'm not obese sometimes, me and some friend just buy the drink, then hang around for hours drinking everything  Sometimes is a lot. I rarely eat out and when I do I can only drink 1 soda. All I am saying is that people should limit themselves from 1-2. Just my opinion since the OP asked for it. I <3 Gears of War 2. Add me on Xbox Live and mention you are from Tif :D
July 23, 200817 yr As many as you can possibly drink without dying. (Make sure you refill before you leave a restaurant). Restaurants like McDonald's make enough money as it is.
July 23, 200817 yr tbh free refills have always made me wonder why people get anything bigger than a small at fast foods. i mean unless ure in drive-thru get a small and refill it 20 times. lulz wut?
July 23, 200817 yr Most of the time I go eat somewhere with free refills, I will fill it once before, once while, and then, if it's half gone, I will fill it up before I leave. However, it is not okay to sit around loitering and continuing to get refills, nor is it okay to simply dump the refills into a larger container to take out with you. For one thing, they can indeed kick you out for loitering... so don't do that. And as to the second larger container comment, I see the size limitation as a limit on what you can take out of the place at once. That is, if you have a larger container, then at the end of a meal you get a larger pop to take along. If you were to fill up the giant jug with a bunch of refills, then I would see you as knowingly taking advantage of something there to for your benefit to begin with.
July 23, 200817 yr I just noticed we are getting a little off topic here. But if you drink more than you need than that is a little bit too much. Also depending on how much soda it may satisfy you thirst. Wongton is better than me in anyway~~
July 23, 200817 yr Author Wow, I didn't even know this topic was even around anymore, lol. Well, last week I went to the same place aand did the same thing, but this time with water. Same person was working and I didn't get a look/comment/anything. Did the difference in drink make any impact? I haven't a clue. Still tasted great after a hard day. :D Last.Fm My Bloggy Proud to have served on Tip.it Crew
July 25, 200817 yr He's probably mad that you didn't tip him for using the soda machine. If they're going to say 'unlimited refills', then I'm going to refill it as many times as I feel like it. Hell, I'll go get a few empty bottles and fill them up, too! Of course, this doesn't apply much to me, I've only had two sodas in the last ~ 10 months.. I guess my free refills of water or whatever. They usually don't do that with the coffee. But like I said, if they're going to put that there, it's their fault if someone refills a lot, just like it would be their fault if they had an 'all you can eat' buffet and some guy cleared out the whole tray of bread. Oh, and for the record, that wasn't exactly an excessive amount of refills, either.. There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.
July 26, 200817 yr I'd only take one, because if i drink more than 2 cups, i'll throw up... :| that would suck, if that happened to me I'd vomit lots #-o when I drink I often binge it :-w (any drink, not alcohol) Steam | PM me for BBM PIN Nine naked men is a technological achievement.
