July 3, 200818 yr I recall reading that the paper cup costs the establishment more than the soda inside of it. By this, I assume that the company was still making a good profit off of you even though you refilled 4 times. The place would probably still be breaking even if you got 30 refills. So I think that you should be allowed truly unlimited refills. Most people only get 0-2 so it's not like the company is losing money on drinks overall. It is a little excessive to be drinking that much lemonade, but it is a neat trick to get the smallest size of drink and just refill it a couple of times instead of getting the larger size 8-) . "We will certainly not be gaining money or members with this update. Instead, we are doing this for the good of the game, which is as dear to our hearts as it is to you."- JAGEX, December 13, 2007
July 4, 200818 yr It does say free refills so I believe you should be allowed to refill as much as you like with whatever cup they give you, as long as it's within a reasonable amount and not just you bringing 2 litre bottles from home and filling up : Also like previous posts have stated, the actual soft drink itself is pretty damn cheap so unless you can drink the entire machine's worth somehow, I don't think they should really care. July 4, 200818 yr I say take as many as you want. A full glass of soda costs restaurants about 2-3 cents (the water in it actually costs more then the syrup). At 1 or 2 dollars to get the cup, no matter how you slice it they are making plenty of money.
July 4, 200818 yr Maybe the guy was just having a bad day. Or maybe you're paranoid. If the place offers free refills, you should be able to fill your drink as many times as you want.
July 4, 200818 yr lol my partner cracked me up last night. His best friend came up from Victoria so we went for a long drive to go see her and went to hungry jacks (burger king) for dinner. We shared our coke like we normally do and before we left I said I was still a bit thirsty because he drank most of it so would put a bit more in. He stood up and said no you can't do that, you're not allowed to have a refill! I started laughing because I knew he was giving me a hard time about this thread  The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.
July 4, 200818 yr As long as you don't leave the place I say you can refill all you want, I don't think it is fair to save the cups for later refills. The only exception could be if you were in a mall or something similar to that.
July 4, 200818 yr One Burger King near us stopped having free refills when some people brought bottles with them to fill with drinks. Kinda sad tbh... Ultra Unholy,Hearted Machine...
July 4, 200818 yr I would say a 'justified amount' is between 2-5. I feel that any more is taking advantage. Steam | Soup | Last.fm
July 6, 200818 yr A "justified amount" to me is 2-5 refills during eating duration. And this is coming from an OLD employee of Pizza Hut. Most I've seen is 3 refills due to a person having a well-sized pizza....and the glass was hardened plastic, and not those flimsy "to-go" cups. Myself? I get at least 2 refills to help out. 1 refill to help it down, the other KEEPS it down. The other, when it happens is for later use during class, posting on a website, or playing a game. More than 5 refills, your dentist needs a word with you about sipping too much of that syrupy stuff.
July 19, 200817 yr I think you are entitled to as many refils that you can drink. MY friend, whenever he eats at mcdonalds or something, always refills his cup right before leaving. FREE refills means they are FREE. it is $0.00 and you can buy as many as you want for that price. $0.00=FREE <---Please click him and you get a cookie!
July 19, 200817 yr wat a jerk. if it says free refills u can have free refills. just make sure u dont put the pump to ur mouth and start drinking it.
July 19, 200817 yr One of my teachers, I believe, had a friend that worked in the fast food business and he informed him that while you may be paying over a dollar (GASP) for a drink, the actual end-product cup-and-all values around ten cents in raw materials. I guess you're paying for the license for the store to use the company's products and the profits for said store. Even so, at ten cents and for a medium drink I'd say that maybe just upwards of ten drinks is being a glutton, otherwise its just some conglomerate corporation getting fat off of the money from some over priced food! July 19, 200817 yr Also, on the "piss him off subject" I can tell you what my older brother used to do: step 1: ask for a free water (in the summer) from McD or whatever, usually in plastic cup. step 2: take said water and dump it out at the drinking machine (see where i'm going?) step 3: depress "Coke" button and enjoy free Coca-Cola! step 4: repeat until satisfied! over-and-over again..... July 19, 200817 yr thats funny because water quenches your thirst better than soda  haha if you knew my brother you would know that thought apparently didn't reach him XD My Music Is My Life I love all of youHurt by the coldSo hard and lonely tooWhen you don't know yourself
July 19, 200817 yr Well I think you are entitled to as many as you want, but how much soda can a person drink? :?
July 19, 200817 yr When he looks at you funny you fill it up like 1/8 of the way with ice and then fill it with soda. Then you say (a little too loudly) "Oh, not enough ice!" Then you dump out the cup, and refill it and say "Oops, wrong soda!". Refill again.
July 19, 200817 yr Working at McD's gives me insight to a lot of this. We don't really care about how many refills we give at our store, they are free refills so people aren't hasseled about it. I agree with that. I believe if a store says free refills then they should honor that statement and not say "free refills" means 2 refills. But man do my managers watch the water cups. If you don't get water they are all over you, making you dump whatever you had and get only water. I have also seen people bring Quick Trip cups into our mcdonalds and fill up..... I mean what the heck, we arn't a frickin Quick Trip so don't bring their cups into our store and fill them up. Plus we only do free refills for a customers current visit, so you can't just keep a cup all summer (though we do 55cent refills) Forum Updates & Suggestions <------ Let your voice be heard!Forum Games <------- Coolest place on Tip.ItTip.It Forum Rules <------- Read them!
July 19, 200817 yr thats funny because water quenches your thirst better than soda  That's funny. Because he never said quenched, he said satisfied. Idiot.
July 19, 200817 yr thats funny because water quenches your thirst better than soda  That's funny. Because he never said quenched, he said satisfied. Idiot. That's funny. Because quenched is basically the hydro-equivalent of satisfied. Going to refrain from insulting you, however. sleep like dead men wake up like dead men
July 19, 200817 yr There is no real limit. If I want to drink enough and get 15 refils I will, and there isnt a thing they can do to stop me (without getting sued). Just ignore him, he was being a jerk. If he was really getting to you report him to someone. Ponies!
July 19, 200817 yr if your in a mcdonald or some fast food place then the more you spend on a meal, the more refills your allowed to get if your in a mall or some big place then as much as you want cuz they can afford it ;)
July 20, 200817 yr As long as you buy a drink at that location, you can refill as much as you want. Only restriction I see is that you actually have to drink all of it before refilling. Since that is probably the real definition of refilling, getting more of something you already had. Leaving and coming back shouldn't count though. July 20, 200817 yr Refill it as many times as you want, unless it states otherwise. If they get mad at you, tough. It's their fault for allowing free refills without stating a certain amount.
July 20, 200817 yr My friend used to get hungry jacks cups off the side of the road, wash them, go into the shop and get free drinks. But honestly, i would never sink that low.yeah, that's what my friend does, except he digs Movie Theater Popcorn bags+Cups from the garbage and uses them... :wall:
