Grr, high levels.

Unbelievable, if there's one thing I dislike/hate about some Runescape Players is this:

You arrive at a fighting place and some player claims that THAT spot is HIS.

You do not have a spot, unless in your own house!

Face it, there are soo many players, we can't all have our own spot when fighting I-don't-know-what.

Therefor no-one has a spot.

It get's even worse when you react, you get called a Noob from higher levels. It's not because you're a high level that

everything's yours.

PS: This does not apply ALL Runescape's high levels.

End of rant. ;)

Well theres no such thing as someones spot so you dont really need to react to someone or try to justify yourself but if you respond with an insult the first thing 80% of people, who are a higher level than you, will resort to is calling you a noob

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

Ever since summoning came out, combat level means nothing to me. Rs is full of high cb's that don't always have the best stats.. Just high summoning. I personally don't summon, (1 ftw) and that's my choice and I'm happy with it. I could care less about anyone else's levels, and when people pick fights with me, I do my best just to ignore it. And as for low levels calling higher people "no-life's" or whatever.. Gotta wonder how interesting their lives are that they care enough to flame someone they know nothing about.

that's stereotypical. you can expect us to say the same thing to lower lvls for calling us no-lifes.

I get called No life when i come to 'Someone's' training spot.. IDC tbh, they have no comebacks other then that. It's the same as me calling someone a noob, while I know nothing about them (I don't, btw).

No one "owns" a spot, but bringing a cannon to a multicombat area is pretty rude since you're now hogging all the exp. Taking spots is low on my annoyances. Taking kbd's, kq's, and gwd bosses annoys the heck out of me.

Taking a spot that cannot be shared when there's already a player is RUDE. No, the first player doesn't own the spot, it's not legally his, but he himself went through a bit of trouble finding an empty spot too. If you wish to be rude, you can expect to be flamed. If you don't want to be flamed, you can hop. It's really not that hard or difficult to understand when you make an effort to think of someone else but yourself for once.

Why are the higher leveled players worse at flaming you? Not because they feel better, but because it has happened to them all the freaking time over the years it took them to become high leveled. And they're fed up with it! Also, they slay/harvest/whatever a lot faster than a lower level, so you really are slowing them down. Thankyouverymuch.

I've learnt not to argue and I simply hop whenever an inconsiderate like you comes along. But after about the third time in half an hour, you really do want to kick these people a conscience.

Take steel dragons, there are 4 steel dragons in Brimhaven dungeon, people hop alot to get 1 steel dragon to kill and get the respawn, if someone comes and steals it there not a noob its just rude.

Its not "your monster" and it's not "our" monster. Having said that, i can fight over them. That seems fair. Idc how i'm fighting over them. Thats why i crash Kalphite worlds with my cannon.

when your a high level you may know the tedium of trying to finish a slayer task on 1 monster alone, yes, its nearly impossible ( its happened to me ), generally higher levels need a much broader number of monsters to kill than say a level 70. This leads to the high lvl warding off people by saying "my spot" etc etc. And it is quite annoying when you're doing sumthing important and someone comes and takes your monsters :wall:

I get really annoyed when I have just spent the last 10 minutes trying to find an empty training spot, I find one and then someone comes along and starts training there. I find it rude that they expect me to move when they don't even attempt to find a world where they do not annoy other players.

As I write this I have been training on a single hill giant for the past 30 minutes or so. It took me a while to find an empty spot, but I have finally got one. Some guy came in and after 5 minutes got sick of not getting any kills and told me not to kill steal. I didn't reply, I didn't feel the need to. He kept going on and on every time he didn't get to attack. Finally, I mentioned that if he moved to another spot, he would be able to train alone. He then insulted me, and had the honour of going on my ignore list. I didn't see why I should move just because some idiot felt he deserved to train there when he could train elsewhere. I am all for sharing when every world seems to be busy, I usually make a new friend and I am quite happy taking turns. What annoys me is when like now there are spots in the world we are in, or the majority of other worlds and people don't even attempt to use them.

I don't think I own a spot, but I think if a player has been training there then I should at least attempt to find another training spot in another world.

Like sumpta said, in a spot with no room for two people, it's rude to bash in and take the spot. Sometimes, it's the other way around, like at dagannoths some people attack all of them and you are left with none, then the only route to take is to attack theirs because they've left none for you. Note that the dagannoth thing applies only when someone manually attacks all of them. But that's the annoying thing about courtesy, you have to be watchful of what you do and that takes its toll. You have to be watchful to not enter someone's virtual personal space, taking *their* respawn, *their* tree, *their* world, *their* spot, *their* dagannoth that attacked by itself, all of that is incredibly annoying. I find it much more liberating to just bash in and do your thing worry less. But that annoys and hurts people because they interpret your actions negatively, while all your trying to do is be worry less. Then they say something about you being a jerk, making it all worse.

But at the end of the day, I'd say bashing in is the best choice. You aren't responsible for people's interpretations. It's not like you're trying to be mean on purpose, like insulting somebody verbally. You log in, at say greater demons, someone is already there so you try to get the kills, which they interpret negatively. It's not like you can get into a lengthy discussion and explain that you're not trying to be mean. Though, in some situations, something is obviously rude, like trying to steal chin spots.

Kinda reminds of me of Dr house, he doesn't care about social rules, so people interpret what he does negatively. But, unlike everybody else, he has greater liberty and freedom of mind, especially for people that are used to him. But he definitively pays for it.

So I guess you have two options. For each you pay a price, and get something in return.

Ignore etiquette and have the liberty of being worry-free. But in exchange, expect some mean comments on public chat, or be in isolation with public off.

Follow etiquette and never get insulted, but you always have to be watchful for every tiny detail which will take its toll. You basically change your life to please the interpretations of others, which makes it unhealthy imo.

As a side note, being worry-free is like those times when you actively chat via pm while killing stuff(or something similar) with other people around. Your mind is busy with the pms so you pay no attention to etiquette and just kill everything you can see. But later find an offensive comment in your chatbox about how you're a jerk for killing *their* respawn. Technically, you are being rude, but you got total liberty, which is great.

Kinda like US vs. UK. In the UK you have all these courtesies. Hello, thank you, good day, let me hold you the door, want some help, and so on. In the US you can get away with basically anything and people won't look down on you. It doesn't really apply to the concept above, but it's a nice parallel.

Well I do have *some* little sympathy for those who come in crowded places but there is just no excuse for the people who won't share properly when there is a huge place with many spawn.

Almost no low levels know how to share a spot. Period. They just come in anywhere and when they see a high level in a particular place, they go on over and train *exactly* there. I hate those noobs.

Probably they think that since the level 130 is there, it is the best spot. They don't even bother to move to the next room which has just as many spawns and is empty. No, no, the spot isn't owned by me therefore they can train on the exact same spawn as I am. Often, when I move to the other room...they follow me there, too!

Then if I do try to explain "you know there are more spawn on the other side, you can take one side, I'll take the other" they go on a huge rant about how high levels are rude. These people simply have *no idea* whatsoever about sharing. Sometimes they say something like "yes but I want BOTH sides" or "why should I stay on one side only, you don't own this side."

It IS pretty rude to start killing something that can only be killed by one person at a time if someone else is already there, and most polite people will simply hop worlds to find an empty one. Case in point is the black drag spawn in the Evil Chicken's Lair that can be safespotted in the mine tunnel, I was there earlier, and I had to hop through four or five worlds to find an empty one. I could have simply stolen one from someone else, but that is a really rude thing to do. Another thing I've noticed is that many people who do it act really immature about it. :| Y'know, like 'omg u stopid noob too sl0w!1!'

The same thing generally applies to rocks that are only found in small amounts, such as rune, as well as hunter spots and the like. As quite a few people have said, it isn't illegal, but it IS rude to start using a limited resource when someone else is there.

On the other hand, people who yell about spawn stealers at places like the ankou, where there are plenty of spawns, are usually just jerks who want the whole room to themselves.

There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

The same can be said about low levels you know. They stand around in Castle Wars waiting for people to enter the boulder area and then cave in the walls with the explosive, not only killing us, but their own team members - which, by the way, is a real waste of time

Low levels also randomly come up to high levels and call them nerds/no lifers - it runs both ways, if you have time to call a random person you've never met, a nerd or a no lifer, you have no life.

What really gets on my nerves is when they have nothing else to do than to pester the high levels - whether it's forcing us to "do emote" - manners please? Or whether it's saying we need better equipment. I'm fine with what I wear, whether it's a d long or a godsword, it's none of your business.

I went on my noob the other day, level 8 with 20 defence, went to FOG and immediately players came up to me saying stuff like "I wanna verse you LOL" and "lmao noob alert, i'm gonna own you". Now these people were between level 40 - 90, and usually I wouldn't get offended but you know what? I was. After a round I got on my main (level 126 in f2p, 136 in members) and owned the crap out of them saying "how does it feel, pal". I have no regret for pwning them because it runs both ways and what goes around comes around.

You can understand how high levels get sick of low levels and vice versa, it depends on the person, and not everyone is a jerk, but when they do something that annoys you, and you do the same back at them, I feel no sympathy towards them, they wanna be jerks, I'll be a jerk towards them, simple.

You wonder why we have to revert to the quick chat world, if you haven't noticed already, quite a few *famous* as such, players live in that world now, and I can understand why. Day by day more noobs come into RS planning to ruin peoples experience, so good riddence to them

Notice: not all low levels are noobs \'

I am for one instance a high leveled player in free to play (124 cb), I choose to train range on ice giants because they drop bbones and get me that mostly wanted prayer xp. To maintain good xp yields I need a spot where i can range 2 ice giants, since I am using addy arrows to increase speed. People get annoyed by me just for the fact rangers respond quicker and I can 1 click on these giants to start fighting. I don't mind one extra person coming to fight next to me, but f there will be more i will continue ranging as normal taking 2/3 ice giants. It is really a matter of willpower and obviously I do not own the spot, but I control the ammount of people that are fighting besides me. You can call me xp hogger or whatever you like to call me, but I am training for my 99 ranging, and I will not let other people disturb that :)

K. This is how the situation usually pans out...

You arrive at the training spot and theres someone there, and they claim its there spot. This is what to do

Other player: Hop, this is my spot

You: No u

Other player: lol. Noob

You: No u

Other player: Wow, you can only say two things? noob

You: No u.

doing that will resolve the situation. The only thing that will happen to you is you being called a noob, but if that actually offends you, gtfo
