"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice

Featured Replies

Alright so I didn't have the balls to go up to and talk to her, so I wimped out. This kinda sucks since I don't get many chances to meet girls my age since I go to an all boys school... I have no idea how to meet girls other than at school.

Most all boys schools have social events with other schools (usually all girls schools) for the five guys who aren't gay. Start going to those if your school does them. If not, get into another social activity based on your interests. Play an instrument? Join a chamber group at a local music school. Maybe there are casual night classes offered for young people at a local college. Anything where you interact with people is an opportunity to meet girls.

  • Obviously you ask her to come with you. Drive with her to the steepest mountain. Put her in the backpack and spend a week climbing the mountain. You will drink the rain and you will eat like a bear. B

  • Okay so I'm pretty confident at least 2 of you remember me and maybe .5 of you remember how my last post went. To recap, I went on the first date of my life and then a second one that went poorly.   T

I'm beginning to think I need to find new friends. Definitely not to replace mine, but people I can bring into the group that actually DO something. Me and my friends rarely get around to anything. It annoys me, because as more of the group moves away, it happens that the people that are left are the ones that are more into drugs. Note drugs, not just weed. Stuff like MDMA, ketamine, e. That actually starts to bother me, especially when I have to say that the highlight of some of the times we hang out is literally just going to get their drugs.

So yeah, new friends, both guys and girls, are my new short-term goal.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

Okay, my internet name is Timothy Tan Taggerung. I even have my Facebook account under its name. While John is my name in real life, which I never ever use on the internet.

Does that help?

Maybe its time to expand your expertise into long term relationships?

Cute girl at work. We get along well. She has a kid and is going to school for nursing. I have to ask how old the kid is, but no ring on her finger, so is it safe to assume there's no guy in her life? She's living with her parents. Also, flirtatious "Waiting" inspired phrases are appreciated.

Unless you plan to look after the kid, dont do it. It's a dog move.

@Omnomnomar, that would be my name.

yeah...I can get along with the kid in a dating scenario, if it came to it, I could look after the kid too, but I don't feel like that would come up immediately either way. But now that i think about it, between work, school, and a child, I'm not sure if she even has time to date. But i'd still like to give it a go - so keep the advice/comments coming.

Do not do it. I can even see that this is not going to end well for you. There's plenty more fish in the sea.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

I'm serious that it's really something you don't want to be involved with. I've seen this happen more than once: A dude hooks up with a chick that has a kid, and the relationship wasn't supposed to be "too serious". Dude ends up having to take care of the kid all the time, almost as though he were his or her father.

If you are at least somewhat good with kids, go for it. She will respect you more for not alienating her because of her child. This can also help you learn more about her then you would if she didn't have a kid by what she expects from you. If she wants you to constantly baby-sit then drop it, but if she understands that as it is not your kid and that she should not make you treat it as one then you have found a good woman.

At your age, yeah...it really is.

If you were say...20-25 AT LEAST, that wouldn't change things. But at your age, it's a terrible idea.

That's a massive difference. How can you not easily tell?

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Rpg, there's other, more important things out there than this girl... You're better off being single for a little than being tied down by a kid for a while.

I saw her and pegged her at 19. She told me she has a kid, and she's been going to school for nursing for atleast a year...so that puts her around 20. She looks like she might weigh 40lbs. on a good day, so I think it's been a while since her pregnancy. So unless she was pregnant at like 14 or just has a magic ability to lose birth weight, she's gonna be a tad older. She only works like once a week, and I only see her in passing. I'll ask about it next time I see her.

I saw a girl a couple months at the most after she gave birth and she looked like she never even had a kid.

There is a good reason why we suggest not to though. Trust me I have seen first hand what can happen to either partner if he's (being you) not ready to settle down, and usually at that age and with a kid they sort of are forced to settle down early, it can go ape-[cabbage] messy. (Which is why I refuse to date a girl with a child, I'm only 19 and I dont plan to become a father AT LEAST until im older then 22 and financially stable AND I want it to be my child, not some lazy bastards.)

So lately half my friends are moving off and away, leaving me with a handful of friends left, of which they are always choosing to hang out with their girlfriend. fair go, I would to if I was getting laid, but its every second day. Reckon its time I said "[bleep] you" to them and started looking for new friends who aren't likely to dog out on me ALL the time?

Popoto.~<3

RPG, don't get involved, not at your age.

Flyingjj.png

yeah, after some thought I decided its probably best not to date a coworker. Even if we do get along great. And she's very attractive. The kid still doesn't bother me much, its actually more the fact that people at my job really like me, and I don't need any sort of dating bull [cabbage] to get around. But I do agree with Dark Aura. If I'm taking care of a child, I'd prefer it to be my own.

Look for new friends, don't forget your old ones, but if they bail out of whatever you plan to hang with their girls then call them out on it.
