I just hate that every freaking merchant in the game voted for the Suit just so they could make a profit off their Santas. Now the rest of us are stuck with this pretty bad reward. -.-

my first choice was icicle sword. i don't want a suit, i just want a hat :(

Why is there such hate towards a Santa Suit that everyone wants it to come with free Santa Hats, or use the head slot just to purposefully annoy anyone who does have a Santa? I'm incredibly happy to hear that the Santa Suit is winning the poll, not for cash gain but purely because after 6 years there will finally be a complete Santa outfit in the game. I worked hard mining Silver ore and selling it to the general store back on RSC to pay 55k for my Santa Hat, and I wouldn't sell it even for 500m.

 

 

 

Face it, nobody uses these untradeable holiday items as they don't show off your wealth. It's just the sad state the game has got into, where if you aren't wearing a "rare" item on your head, an expensive to obtain skill cape, a godsword and some overpriced Dragon/Bandos armour you aren't worthy enough to play the game. The Santa Suit is the only poll item that has any potential for not being thrown in a dank corner of someones bank.

 

 

 

When is the last time you ever saw anyone wearing Bunny Ears, Scythe, the Christmas hats/scarfs or a Rubber Chicken? In the past 2-3 years, I'm the only person that I've ever seen wearing Bunny Ears, whacking someone with a Rubber Chicken or wielding a Scythe. I virtually never even see the Grim Reaper Hood or Chocatrice cape anymore.

of the choices, cant believe i'm responding to this thread, santa suit seems most likely to be tucked away in a corner if you ask me. reindeer seems like a cool thing for f2pers or the icicle sword with a freeze special or something still it would have stats like an iron longsword. a candy cane cane i could see being highly prized by the people that seem to care a lot about appearance. i'm not sure what boots that look like presents would actually look like so i dont know about that. personally i'd like to see them bring back the christmas tree to varrock. funny to see the people digging around the tree though.

 

 

 

where are you going to wear a santa suit and could you ask for a more non-blending costume to the game? i bet the fashion people will use items from the costume but not the whole thing. and all this is just fashion garbage. a costume isnt really something i'd want so i voted for the reindeer since f2p has no options for any pets atm. and that would be a first. and tbh i'd prefer they just surprise us instead of voting.

It wouldn't, Jagex would purposefully give it -100 in nearly every area and no special as they have done with the Rubber Chicken. I remember a few years ago a Jagex Mod said that no holiday weapon other than the Scythe would ever have positive stats, as the new players that missed it moaned they missed something that was (slightly) useable as a proper weapon.

I had two santas and sold one, as they seem to be unable to sell at max now (they did immediately 2-3 days ago). I can see them peaking in a day or two, and then coming back down to around 11.5m. I feel pretty good that I sold one for 13.1m and bought 90k pure ess :thumbsup:

I hope they do something to make Santa prices drop dramatically, and make it so there is something lame(like a Santa Hood or Fake Beard) in the head slot, and make it green, just so nobody that voted for the suit will get what they want. I voted for Reindeer (and suggested it in the Festive Suggestions thread).

That makes absolutely no sense, except for the lag part. But you have no idea how big they would be. And just because F2P can't do the Summoning skill doesn't mean they can't block them from the Grand Exchange. Coding is coding; its not like it is impossible to implement of Free Servers.

Knowing Jagex the Santa suit will be an entirely differnt shade of red to anything else in the game (Including existing santa hats) so will be worthless to the majority of the runescape population two weeks after release...Kind of like the Grim Reaper Hood.

I honestly hope they come to their senses and not care that it's a gaurenteed content poll and just skip on the santa suit idea.

I wouldnt waste any amount of money above 5m on an outfit, Especially just for a hat.

Merchants probably just voted to make a profit but I voted for the pet :P. IMO It should give a beard with the suit that you can make into a bearded santa if you have a santa hat like the other TT items you can make into one. That way santas would rise back to what they were before the GE and maybe I can make a few mill ;)

Well, I can almost say for certain that this santa suit is going to be an incredible let-down to everyone who voted for it, because obviously (italics and bold-- really intense) they cannot put another santa hat type piece of clothing into the game, as that would ruin the idea of owning a santa hat-- a rare.

Id like the suit to go with my santa (which i didnt buy for the merchanter fact, actually never sold mine or lost it! Originality ftw!) But i voted for the ice cicle sword (Not sure on spelling for ice cicle >.< I need to learn my english more >.<)

Did anyone consider the fact that some people might have actually wanted a santa suit? I voted for the santa suit because I thought it was slightly less lame than the rest of them, the fact that I bought a santa when It was only like 11.6m and it is now rising is just a bonus.

ok, so here are some cons i can think of for each possible Christmas Holiday Item of 2008 in order of their position(amount of votes) in the poll:

 

 

 

Santa Suit(29% of votes)-it is going to be most likely a 2 piece reward, meaning less bank space for f2p people and p2p people who don't have a high enough construction level to make a costume room. Also, as stated in the post, this may cause santa hats to [bleep]e or dip in the GE.

 

 

 

Pet Reindeer(25% of votes)-knowing jagex, this is going to most likely be a p2p prize being that they are not making summoning f2p. Although they gave f2pers a chance at summoning in the Easter Event of 2008, they most likely will not have f2pers get the reindeer. So all of you f2p people who voted for the reindeer!! well, sorry!!!

 

 

 

Icicle Sword(24% of votes)- well, what can i say? Its a dumb sword made of ice..... I'm not saying that a sword made of ice is nooby, im just saying that jagex will most likely make it look nooby being that its just a holiday item. It will probably look like Silverlight or Excalibur.....

 

 

 

Candy Cane Cane(6% of votes)- well, i think it would look better than a sword, that is if i can see it!!! In the history of runescape, canes have been known to be overlooked when wielded by a player. So although it may look good in your inventory, just hope it looks good when you wield it. Also, it will probably look like the Pharaoh's Scepter except red and white.
