Hahah everyone else pretty much said this but: people do it to have fun.

^ I'm in the same situation as Rose.

I have 1 defence, 99 Range account and I think that it's just dead sexy <3: , I find a lot of satisfaction in my account.

Also I stay pure for my clan (TGG ... a lot less known than TLP  ) but yeah I'm 76 cmb therefore I can't BH without getting destroyed so that part of the game doesn't matter to me.. It's just fun, idk, I just prefer it this way.

It's just a matter of opinion [on how you define fun for yourself].

Most Skillers do it to get more respect. A level 3 would get more respect for having a Firemaking cape than a level 138 with the same cape would.

I like to keep my charcter well balanced, for me I enjoi the game alot more this way...

Why does everyone think pking is gone? don't people know about BH or something. But I don't see the point in a skiller other than idea of people saying "wow a level 3 with a skillcape", i'd rather level up my main \' .

I used 2 hours on BH, i am maxed mele had the best stuff for f2p...........

had also 81 prayer + str pot+ good food + teleported to my target.

I did never get a "KILL"

What happend?

I wasted over 100 lobsters

Wasted over 40 laws, over 200 air, and so on..

Basically, it's a fresh start. I don't want to be just another main, I want to have an account that can basically take most mains, and be able to hold off tank rangers, rune pures, and other pures. Honestly, it's no different than being a main. I play for combat minigames, fun, and skilling, while mains play for what? Combat minigames, fun, and skilling

Now that im useing a new account im enjoyinf the game so much more. A lot of people yell at me and are like "stop wasting your time nerd". How am i wasting time by working on a different account?

I also plan to solo bandos with 1 defence. Not that i wont die or anything \'

LOL

Well i made a mage pure with only 10hp(ftw) then i started going in bh with like 55 mage at 23 combat :D and owning people with earth bolt its just fun to own other people ::'

Try making a skiller for yourself. It's fun and a nice break from mains and much easier to level up. Pures and skillers are much more fun to play on then mains.

Different people like to play the game differently. There is no correct way to play a game.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

I think that if I have the time, I might devote myself to leveling 1 skill to 99 because I'm a sucker for fancy capes.

"People are idiots. Some just like to say they reported you to see your reaction, others are just spastic losers that believe everything is reportable, and others got banned and end up reporting everyone because they are mentally disturbed"
Sometimes you get bored on your main account, so people create other side accounts to help lift this boredom. I start to find that I get bored sometimes too. ::'

if you get bored shouldn't you just train something else on you main, but not to make a new account and train the same thing?

i understand of having 2 accounts. 1 main and 1 Bh accout

what i dont understand is having a skiller account why can't you just skill on your main

Simply because there is a difference when you're lvl 90+ in comparison to when you're under lvl 20...it's almost like seeing the world through a whole different perspective.

Check me out on YouTube!

a lot of people make skillers to just have a fresh start and not have to be so worried about grinding those insanely high levels on their mains, and its fun to get to know other people on your skiller...

and pures are easy to explain, most peoples mains dont have good stats to pk efficiently, so why not make another char with a good stat setup that could actually make you money?

Ricco4508.png

Well, the main reason to why people create skillers I think is because they know that people will be like "OMG!!! A level 3 with a skillcape! Awesome!!!" when they see this skillers. Also, it's a very big challenge to train a skiller, so that is also a reason. This makes it worth the time for a lot of people.

When it comes to pures the reason is more simple: BH. Pking still exists and a lot of still find it good enough to put their time in training pures for using at the BH.

Feel free to add me ingame if you want to chat :D

Well, my main is a pure, and the reasoning is a challenge. Sure, I could throw on defence and max.. but then I wouldn't have much of a challenge, and would likely quit all together. I'm not sure if you're questioning about pures/skillers, or if you just dislike people using multipe accounts.

I think that a good question may be "Why does it matter how another person spends his/her time on Runescape?" ::'

EDIT: Ford Landau, I suggest that you either remove that comment, or state that you use two different computers or something. Just a suggestion.

It's an ego thing, which is mainly pointless. Then again, leveling up a character normally is also an ego thing. I think that it's just part of the quest to achieve something higher and more difficult than level 99 in everything.

It's not worth the time though, because the game is much larger and more available (and more fun) if you level normally.

In my opinion, Its not, I would definetly rather have a really good main account then four differant accounts with afew good skills on each.

There are many pros and cons with pures and skillers.

Being a skiller myself, i can say i dont get any sort of satisfaction on being lvl 3, but i dont really fancy doing combat either.

One main point of being skiller for me, is to show people that even lower levels can train skills. I have met many, many people going 'omg lvl 3 wid 99 mining lol how u get it' and im like'dude, you really dont need combat stats to train mining.. all you have to do is swing your pickaxe, thats all'

Most people (usually somewhere between 5 and 11 years) think that combat is they key for everything. Well, it's not. Perhaps with combat you can do more quests and enter more areas and such, but so what? You can do some woodcutting where ever you want. you dont have to have an access to all those new places jagex releases every few days to get new type of tree. No, you can camp at catherby and get the same levels there, than you can get somewhere else.

I dont know why is it worth of the time to be a skiller, or a pure, but there is no explanation for everything we do.

I'm a skiller, because i like challenges. I like to impress people with my 90m total exp, at only lvl 3, while some lvl 110's have only 70m ish. It's hilarious.

Perhaps pures think that its nice to be lower lvl and hit massive amounts of damage on opponents. I find it funny. A lvl 50 hitting 17's, thats kinda tough.

So... I dont know really :P

Pixels make me horny.

Awhile ago, before farming and slayer, high levels were rarely seen in cities like varrock and falador. they spent most of their time in dungeons and out of the way spots. when farming and slayer came out; high lvls and low and mid lvl players coexisted more and were found more often in similar areas.

Being a high lvl before farming and slayer, and training your character you spent a lot of time away from a large portion of the playerbase. that did change when farming and slayer came out. but many people created characters to "relive" their new player days and socialise with a larger portion of the playerbase.

getting to the answer to your question. of course people make pures to be idealised for combat; that was more common when drop trading was around same for pure duellers. now "pures" many of them also skill; so a good change imo.

for me, creating a low lvl that was capable of great things i wanted to push the limits and see what i could do on a low lvl character, with all the additions to the game. the bottom line for me playing on a character other than my main is i sometimes like to take a break from my main and see a different side to the game with a different character. comparing my main to my other character is comparing over 400M xp to around 8M xp. there are things i can do on both characters but i'd rather do them on the other such as socialising more on my other character. it's fun having all the knowledge i have and helping people without the adulation towards my high lvls and other stuff my main gets. so the main reason is it's fun.

[hide=-this is my signature- guides i've written]full list is at the top of viewtopic.php?f=180&t=775754[/hide]

Beeing a 117 with quest cape, ive seen most things.

Doing those exact things on a level 3 account is challanging, and thats the point.

The challange is what makes it fun, atleast thats why i have a skiller. ::'

Aren't you a skiller on your main too...? :?

There's cake through here, apparently.

Several Reasons:

1. It gives a personal goal to achieve, and achieving goals makes people feel good about themselves.

2. It raises your total level, which, again, having a higher total level puts you up higher in the ranks and therefore you feel good about it.

3. Some skills go up to level 99 in abilities so they are worth it to train that high.

4. Getting that wonderful, coveted Skill Cape.

5. And finally, there is ALWAYS the chance Jagex may release higher abilities to those skills which stop at lower levels (like Herblore and Farming at Level 85). This means if you've got that high level already when they release these new items or abilities, you have the chance of making some big bucks. Like Slayer. When they release the 95 Slayer monster and it's rare drop, those with 95 will have the chance to make some really nice, probably very easy cash.

Sounds a good idea, but isn't that against the rules? :?:

I just go on other accounts for holiday events, and go on my skiller when stuck on my main (waiting for people to come to GWD for a boss, locked out of main due to maintenance, etc), so I guess it's a backup in case I ever get banned. :P
