Why is it worth the time to become a skiller and keep training your skills till its a high level or 99. Same thing with combat pures. Does it give people a self satisfaction? Does it make people think they are special?especially with the pking banished, people still decide on becoming combat pures....

Why does everyone think pking is gone? don't people know about BH or something. But I don't see the point in a skiller other than idea of people saying "wow a level 3 with a skillcape", i'd rather level up my main \ .

I guess that some players like to show off as a level 3 (not in a bad way) that they achieved 99 in something.

 

 

 

And combat pures just want the advantage in PvP. 1 def pures are only good in the low crater anyway.

Skiller = dunno. I never got these, I mean, it must be so much harder to make a lvl 3 skiller, you can't go in the scorpion pit! Ultimately it's not a big achievement though since not all training methods are dangerous. Maybe a lvl 3 combat skiller^^

 

Pures = combat minigames? And when RuneScape will be led by a new guy (hopefully after MechScape comes out) the next guy may have the smarts to bring back the wildy. A simple combat items only could have solved the RWT problem for the most part...

Sometimes you get bored on your main account, so people create other side accounts to help lift this boredom. I start to find that I get bored sometimes too. :

Players are used to the old mmorpg "style" of different classes which different game content is available only to certain classes, which Runescape is an exception.

People might find it fun. Strange that, in a game.

Why do people have pures.... Because it's a good way to make a good pking account! Skillers dunno really, i made one when i was bored, but i changed it into a pking account because i got bored! lol.

I think skillers are a big waste of time. If they're doing it for the recognition factor of "Wow, a level 3 w\ a skillcape!", that's not gonna last them a long time. Too many to make them rare anymore.

 

 

 

Only reason I can conjure as to why pure's are still around, is the surprise factor. Doing cw, you might see some greenhorn prancing around his castle walls, and some hidden rage is invoked inside you and in your rs player nature, you're required to end his life. But wait, what's that? Bang! this guy is some magic pure and nearly finished you with two blows.

Pures so you can be better at combat minigames. I don't have one so I can't really offer you much more than that about them.

 

Skillers people make to get the wow, a level three with those stats! reaction, or just for fun. Sometimes playing on your main gets boring, especially if you're grinding out levels at one place for too long, so making one of these accounts would be fun, and if its a skiller, a challenge.

For fun maybe? Different people find fun in different ways.

I made karma cuz it was fun doing everything w/ 1 def and low pray... much more challenging. 1 def pures became obsolete once all the str-boosting items came out and 45 def became the best... now because of BH you can't get your untradable str-boosting gear if you lose it, so 70 def is the best

 

 

 

never made a skiller because it seemed like a waste of time when I could just get my skills up on my main... there's no advantage to making a different account for skilling other than trying to impress people lol

I mean, the only people who are really impressed are those people in ftp, who are also low leveled. They are amazed to see low levels with skill capes, they go insane...

Because some people like carving a character into something special. It takes a good dose of perfectionism. Imagine a character with 1 attack, 1 strength, 99 defence, 99 magic, 99 HP and 99 ranged. Or 99 magic, 10 Hp. Or 99 strength, 1 defence, 1 attack, etc. Or untrimmed 99 slayer like slayerbelle. Maybe it isn't the most efficient, but those characters are flawless, it's like a roaming piece of art. A level 3 skiller, while a level 3 has typically bad stats, you'll look them up and they have several 99s, they're the exact opposite of what they're supposed to be, it's poetic, it's special, that's why people do it.

 

 

 

But the achievement is only special if the pure/skiller is complete or on the good path to completion. There's nothing interesting about haftbaked pures dropped haftway through the process.

Exactly what I'm thinking. I have a pure defense account, and the point is to stand out...being a level 70 wearing rune and cutting yews is nothing special, while a level 18 doing the exact same is unexpected and unique.

also pures arnt only good in low crater i know 20+ pures that pk in high f2p and p2p craters and get on just fine

skillers are actually significant now because you can't transfer money. a level 3 with a high stat means that they did all the work on that level 3, not that their main dropped a few million to that account.

Simple and easy.

Doing those exact things on a level 3 account is challanging, and thats the point.

5 Defense 1 Summoning.

 

 

 

I'm pure solely for the clan I'm in. Despite us getting destroyed in BH as a clan, and not even possible to solo P2P BH(Unless maxed or near maxed), Pure Clans are still going strong.

 

 

 

Each week there is a "PCL", Pure Clan League, no points, no score, just a competitive Clan vs Clan and then when we're done each clan posts their results on Pure Community. Saturday is the F2P PCL, Sunday is the P2P PCL, and clans tend to stick to higher/lower level clans. For example, I'm in TLP, so we basically only fight the other top clans such as FOE, FI, and MM.

 

And we do other clan-based events such as GWD on Wednesdays, on Thursday is our P2P-based fun event(Fight Pits, Castle Wars), Friday is our F2P-based fun event(Snowball Fights, Iron Wars), and the weekends are for PCL.

 

 

 

I F2P BH often, I do decent, although I don't loot unless they were my target/hunter because I can't tank the 3 minutes on half food/pray.

 

 

 

Basically, Pures are here for clans. Because I know without TLP, I wouldn't join another clan, I'd get Defense, especially considering I'd have Barrows Gloves and Lunars within 3 hours of getting it(203 QP).

 

 

 

Skillers are probably around for the same reason they were before.

1. people should, and will play the way they want to play.

 

2. theres no reason to hate on about it.

 

3. if u dont feel like theyre worth giving attention to then dont.

 

4. people have serious issues when others get more attention than themselves.

 

5. that is when you get tons of dbags from the forums who dont get attention conform with eachother and make topics to bash those who get attention (indirectly)

I hate how ppl always bash skillers and pures for them being a waste of time. rs is just a big waste of time... -.-

its not because of ppl thinking they will be more special having 99s at level 3, its because they feel like it. thats how they have fun so leave it alone. many would prefer just 1 main but others like skillers pure etc. i grew bored of skills and grinding in general and just wanted to pk in bh. so wat i did was make a lower crater pure for bh. and it is fun!

It can be fun, having a fresh start.

 

Try it.
